Beautiful home! Even better than the pictures! We came for the Mammoth March nearby and wasn’t sure how much would be around in the way of restaurants and grocery stores, but there was so much—and all the things you’d need if you wanted to just cook at home. Would be even nicer in warmer weather with the gorgeous lake front right there in the backyard.
We had so looked forward to a weekend away at the lake. Unfortunately this was not the case. Due to what the host deemed as typical “critters” at a lake property we found other accommodations. It could be a cool stay and property if the host addresses issues but we will not be back.
I know it is the end of the season so everything just needs freshining up like outdoor rug ,fan on the deck and chair cushions, but overall it was lovely.
The property was the perfect layout for our family reunion of 13 people. The grandparents could stay on the ground floor and never had to climb the stairs. The bunk room upstairs was comfortable for the kids. There is lots of outdoor and indoor dining space, and the kitchen was well stocked. Very pleased with our stay.
This was perfect for our family vacation. The home is beautiful with plenty of space for our entire family of 14 including 4 families with toddlers and an infant. The host was very accomodating and always responded when we had questions. Thank you so much for making this vacation memorable!
We enjoyed our stay. There were 15 women and we were all very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked and outdoor area was nice. Would definitely recommend for a girls trip!
Perfect weekend getaway with the extended family. We had 15 people total with enough room for everyone. We fished, took the canoes out, and relaxed in the hot tub among other activities.
We had a family holiday getaway. Plenty of room for all. Great kitchen, dining and family room. Hosts decorated for the holiday, provided snacks and s’more fixings. Plenty of parking. Quiet neighborhood.
The property was clean and was well equipped for sleeping a large group. The water float that we were looking forward to using was no longer available. The people working at the main gate were somewhat difficult when entering. The host was alway available and was very quick to answer any question we had.
My family and I enjoyed our quick weekend stay at the Lakehouse. While we couldn’t take full advantage of the great two-tier dock, outdoor fire pit and proximity to the water due to cold weather, we felt right at home inside. Preparing meals in the fully stocked kitchen or hanging out by the electric fireplace lounging on the couch, this house by the lake delivered the coziness and rest that we were hoping for.
Great house-lots of room for family. All loved being right on the lake!
Timely responses from owner on questions.
Couple suggestions outside-back porch had some lose stones. Loved TV on porch, but ceiling fan(s) would be great!
We had 13 total between adults and kids. The property is well kept and relaxing, with plenty of space on the patio and inside. The house was well furnished and clean. The view from the back yard was nice, shady and calm. Only a 12 minute drive to the square and less than that to Brookshire’s. The shopping on the other side of town is only 15 minutes away. We had a great stay!
We came for a cinco de mayo getaway, brought the kids and another family. Enjoyed the hot tub immensely and the roll-out floaty swim mat was a huge hit for the kiddos! Had to watch out for spiders down by the kayaks and there was some food left in the fridge but otherwise it was a really clean and nice stay. (Could have used more blankets!)
We loved the house and the backyard so we’re so glad we found this spot. Thank you!
The house was decorated for Christmas so that was a nice surprise. House is great and the views were pretty. Only thing that got tricky was when the guard would leave at 7 pm at the gate. It always took us 4-5 minutes to get through with ID’s and their system wasn’t working like the sign said. Other than that it was great
Nice big home with many amenities. Lots of bedrooms for 2 little kids (separate rooms), 2 adult couples and 1 single adult. Gas grill, full kitchen, outdoor Jacuzzi and indoor jacuzzi tube (3 yo loved it).. Neighborhood is OK, but not spectacular. We were there in late December, so it was cold. I'm sure in the summer it would be a wonderful place to stay has a dock. Had a couple of issues, but the owner was easy to get in touch with . We would stay there again.
House was very nice! Clean, opened and very well stocked with all of the essentials. The host was very easy to communicate with and replied within minutes- which is very important to me. The back patio was nice with the hot tub. With the house being right on the lake, made fishing nice!
Lots of room for multiple families, but with the opened concept, we still all spent time together.
Not secluded, so there are neighbors right next door. But it wasn’t an issue for us.
Definitely made our small get away, memorable!

2023 get away
arrived, referg. full of other peoples items, had to clean it out, then it was stated the backyard was inclosed for our pets but it wasn't , but other then that we really enjoyed ourselves,
My family and I stayed here for 4 days and loved the layout of the house- there was enough space to be/sit together and space to be alone. We enjoyed being able to sit on the deck, bbq, and enjoy the lake. We had 1 child with us- and he was able to keep himself entertained and busy with the activities in the house/lake. I had to contact the property manager once and she responded quickly, I had no issues with property manager or the house. Hoping to go back another time.
This place is perfect for a family get-together! We had 7 adults and children of all ages (youngest was 6). The backyard is the attraction, with a lovely yard tapering down to the water. There's a nice deck with comfortable seating (& a grill). The owner provides kayacks, so everyone enjoyed being on the water. We brought fishing gear & one of the kids caught their 1st fish. The back patio is covered & there's a blackstone grill, which we cooked breakfast on. Inside, the family area is open & spacious, with a large dining table. Bedrooms are spread out, so everyone was comfortable & had some privacy. Tom McVan was very easy to reach with questions. We had a great time making wonderful family memories!!

Every roll of toilet paper already on the holder was 90% used- there was no other toilet paper to be found. The towels were thin, hard and smelled like mildew. The upstairs toilet has a small leak at the bottom- maybe water seal? The upstairs bathroom door needs oil as it squeaked anytime someone went in and out. There were no dishwasher detergent pods. There were no extra garbage bags, plus the garbage can out on the street was already full from the previous tenants/family use and had been trashed by some animal so we had to pick up other people’s trash in order to try to stuff our trash into the one outside. The queen bed mattress upstairs was atrocious and we kept rolling into each other I ended up sleeping inverted- head to toe. The large dock is large… but the waterway to get to the dock appeared narrow and shallow so we did not dock our boat there at the house- had to keep it at the marina. The downstairs area and back patio were nice.
