The house was per advertised. It was clean inside and supplied well. The communication with Jean was cordial and she was accommodating. Location for getting around was great. Maintenance of the yard was disappointing and the only take away from our stay.
Our stay was beautiful. The property has incredible views of Mount Rainier, Lake Washington, and the surrounding cities. We could watch fireworks from the property.
Seattle was having a terrible heat wave. Without air conditioning the house was very very hot especially the upstairs. We appreciated the fans he provided.
A few things of note. The listing states a “grill” as an amenity. It does not have one. There are cameras in all living spaces and hallways. We were not informed of this. After I booked and paid in full, I was informed that the owner would be living in the basement level and thus there were quite hours. Also, the property was listed as non smoking but the owner and his guest sat in the backyard and smoked which could be smelt strongly by us through the open windows due to the heat. The yard needs maintenance! It is very wild and overgrown.

There are no cameras at all inside the house. There are movement detectors for the alarm system that protects the house when it's empty, but certainly no cameras.
There is indeed no AC. It's not standard in Seattle, and was never needed until recently. I'm thinking of adding one.
I apologize for the missing grill; I had to remove it for some recent remodeling work, and had forgotten to put it back. Had you contacted me during your stay, I would have been happy to fix that right away.
I do live in the basement unit about half the time. As you said, you were informed of that right away; it's also mentioned in the listing description. If that really was a problem for you, you had over 3 months to cancel your reservation, since I offer full refunds up to 24 hours before check in.
The house is indeed non smoking; but I'm okay with my guests smoking outside.
The yard is properly maintained. I've been letting it grow more as that allows it to better resist heat in the summer.
I'm sorry that you didn't see fit to communicate about any of this during your stay.
