We stayed in the ground floor of Chalet Barbara, Jaun. It's a one room studio with beautiful views of the valley, waterfalls and the mountain. Its a beautiful chalet complimenting the location. Communication with the host Thomas was very effective and informative. Everything as described in the vrbo website and the additional document provided by host.We had wonderful time walking in and around Jaun. It's a beautiful place to have some calm, meditative time with nature.

Amazing few day stay with my partner!

This was a fantastic find and we were overall very pleased with everything about the chalet. The location, communication with the property manager, and the chalet itself were all amazing.

Mountain valley view

Chalet Barbara is a perfect spot to 'get away from it all', amidst the beautiful Swiss Alps, without 'breaking the bank'! One has to be a careful driver on the narrow, winding road to the Chalet. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Thank you for the nice review. We agree that this region of Switzerland does not belong to the expensive regions. One reason: here you meet many Swiss and not so many tourists.

Wonderful Chalet

Great Chalet in a wonderful community. Beautiful views and waterfalls. Awesome host. A must stay in area. Hint: if renting car, stay compact. Winding roads are a bit tricky with larger vehicles. But we loved it.

Thanks for your review. For people from the lowlands, the mountain road is very unusual for the last mile. But: you can make it up!

5 -day holiday in beautiful quiet mountains

Spacious for two and a great view with plenty of (tough) walking all around. Quiet and well equipped. No luxury!

Thank you for the review, which accurately reflects the character of the apartment. Luxury is not to be expected in Switzerland at this low price level. Should one take the 4 star rating as a categorization for the apartment compared to others?

Amazing view perched high above valley

We loved our stay at Chalet Barbara. Our host, Thomas, was so very helpful, providing immediate responses to every request or question. The apartment was so well equipped and provides incredible views over the valley below including the village of Jaun. We will long treasure our memories of this wonderful place.

Lovely location

What a great place. Excellent cons from the start with the owner. This was a lovely chalet, in a great location looking down on the village. With beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Chalet had everything you needed and was very clean. Not that we used much due to wonderful things to do in the surrounding area. Only downside was the main bed, which could do with a new mattress. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Magical Chalet!

Thomas is an amazing host, as from the get go he was very responsive & helpful with any queries. The Chalet Barbara is a truly magical place and the family history attached to it makes is even more special! The hike up there is a bit of a challenge with luggage if you are on foot, as we had to climb during very heavy rain - but the views certainly makes it all worth it. Stay here if you get the chance - you are sure to love it! :)

Fantastic views

The property was larger than it looks in the photos and is well equipped. It has the character of a log cabin, very cute and not something we're used to in England. The views from the property are so fantastic. We spent the week walking the nearby mountains and going up any cable cars/chair lifts available. It is a very pretty part of Europe and well worth the travelling to get there. As another reviewer said, you soon get used to driving the mountain roads. There wasn't much open in Juan when we were there but nearby Charmey has a well stocked CoOp and a pizzeria

We stayed for 5 nights at this beautiful chalet and had an amazing time. The chalet has everything one can expect for a family vacation and to top it all off- an incredible view of the whole valley and the village. Dr. Woznick was a wonderful host. Highly recommend this for a great family vacation!
