Sunny chalet vacation apartment with a view of the Jaun valley in the west alps

The quiet apartment is located in a chalet on the southern slope, 100 m above the 1030 m high-altitude Jaun. There are 2 parking places available. The small village is nestled in a charming Valley of the Fribourg Alps between the Gruyère - and Bernese Oberland. Unspoilt by crowds it offers the image of a historical unspoilt mountain village. The Chalet is an ideal starting point for hikes and mountain tours in warm season for the nature lover. Fresh mountain air, the sight of the pastures and mountains with varied alpine flora will throw away all your worries. Low noise of the remarkable Jaun falls protects your sleep. In the Cantorama, a little old church, you can enjoy classical and popular musical performances. Close to Jaun by car (approx. 8 km) you will find tennis courts and Spa. Free bathing can be done at Lake of Gruyère (ca. 15km from the chalet). For winter sports, all usual options are on-site and nearby.
Restaurants: Hotel/Restaurant Wasserfall in the village on foot in approximately 10 minutes away. Other drive restaurants after 10 minutes can be reached (Jaunpass, Im Fang, Charmey)
Walks: You can start walks and hiking tours directly from the Chalet. The hike routes are marked with signs, a map is not really necessary. Mountain climbs are possible up to 2100 meters.
Very popular is hiking to the Schwarzsee (one way ca. two and a half hours), to Chalet du Soldat (one way ca. two hours) or to the nearest city Charmey (one way ca. one and a half hours) but also other hikes are highly recommended.

New thermal baths are in Charmey (8 km).

A very modern 4-seater chairlift exists in Jaun since 2011. It opens up various hiking trails in the summer and brings you to beautiful views. It's also used for skiing in the winter (along with 3 other T-bar lifts) and tobogganing.

Amazing holiday

Very kind hosts, Great surroundings, Very nice apartment in typical traditional Swiss style. Breathtaking view from the balcony. It was fabulous.

A little bit of heaven

Property was exactly as described, and the views from the balcony are absolutely amazing. The chalet had every possible utensil under the sun - so if you're cooking, you'll want for nothing. The duvets and pillows could do with replacing as they were too soft for out taste - but might well be perfectly fine for others. The road up to the chalet takes a bit of getting used to as it's so narrow - but by day 3 we were driving up and down like we were locals. It's well situated for trips out - and it was quite surprising for us to learn that in Jean the language spoken was mostly German - but in the next village it was French. We drove out to Grindewald and took a cable car up First which was out of this world, and in the other direction went to the Gruyere spa - amazing also - and had a couple of runs out to Montreux. The roads are really easy to drive - but do watch out for the speed cameras - lol. We'll be back for sure!. :)

Sehr ruhige Lage mit romantischem Blick Richtung Tal. Das Tal und auch der Balkon liegt Richtung Süden und ist immer hell. Man hört den Wasserfall rauschen und die Glocken der weidenden Kühe. Die Eigentümerin ist nur an einigen Abenden selbst vor Ort. Die Begrüßung war unkompliziert und schnell, aber sehr freundlich. Es gibt eine Telefonnummer von dem Hausmeisterehepaar für Fragen. Die Tischtennisplatte gibt es nicht mehr. In dem Dorf wird deutsch und auch teilweise französisch gesprochen. In dem Bäcker unten an der Straße gibt es alles nötige, auch Getränke, Aufschnitt, Kaffee u.s.w. Die Reise war für die großen und auch die kleinen Kinder (10 Jahre) ein Highlight. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Très bon séjour !

Ce fut pour moi un très bon séjour, tout était très bien le chalet dispose du nécessaire pour y séjourner. Lieu au calme dans un charmant village dans les belles montagnes Suisse. J'ai pu rencontrer la propriétaire qui a été très aimable, je recommande vraiment pour pouvoir visiter les plus grosses villes alentours (Fribourg, Berne, Lausanne...) ou bien pour profiter des beaux paysages et se balader dans les nombreux chemins de randonnées accessibles autour.

notre semaine en Suisse était digne d'une carte postale: véritable chalet suisse sur flanc de montagne avec le tintements des cloches des vaches et des moutons. Le paysage était à couper le souffle! L'accueil des locaux était parfait avec beaucoup de gentillesse. Nous avons fait de nombreuses activités, telles que randonnées, descentes en trottinette, bobluge... et eu le plaisir de déguster du fromage et de chocolat. Nous avons passé de super vacances!!

Leise rauscht der Wasserfall

Das Chalet Ilse ist schön geräumigt man hat viel Platz, der Balkon ist wunderbar und der unten rauschende Wasserfall macht viel Freude. Das Bett ist sehr bequem, Garderoben hängen überall, es ist für alles Platz. Die Küche hat alles was gebraucht wird. Eine ganz tolle Ferienwohnung, die Berge gegenüber grinsen einem entgegen.

Juste 4 commentaire: - J'aurai aimé avoir un contact direct avec le propriétaire, cela aurait été plus simple pour communiquer les quelques problèmes rencontrés. - propreté discutable surtout sous les lits...(photo dispo) - nombreuses araignées dans la chambre des enfants qui ont du faire u repli stratégique dans le salon - problème de sécurité avec la rembarde du balcon qui n'est pas bien fixée. Sinon trés bon séjour...

Casa muy bonita con vistas espectaculares

Casi todo muy bien. El apartamento está muy bien equipado y es confortable. Las vistas muy bonitas. Gran terraza. Lo único que no nos satisfizo fue que el frigorífico era muy pequeño y el congelador era mínimo, no se puede congelar nada.

Nous avons passé un très bon moment dans ce chalet. Le chalet est très pratique pour une famille et l'endroit est juste sublime. La neige n'était pas trop au rendez vous cette année, mais nous avons comme même skié 4 jours sur 5. Je pense qu'avec de la neige, il faut prévoir un équipement adéquat pour l'accès au chalet en voiture, car ça grimpe bien. Si nous devons retourner dans cette région, j'espère vraiment que le chalet sera disponible à ce moment. Merci pour ces très belles vacances. Xavier, Capucine et Félix.

Erholsame Ferien dank schöner und gut eingerichteter Wohnung mit viel Sonne und netten Gastgebern

Schöne und gut eingerichtete Ferienwohnung an wunderschöner Lage mit viel Sonne. Es gibt viele Gesellschaftsspiele sowie etwas Spielzeug für Kinder. Auch eine Bücherecke sowie Prospekte aus der Umgebung vorhanden. Sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Gastgeber. Unser Aufenthalt genossen wir in vollen Zügen. Diese Jahr leider ohne Schnee trotzdem gibt es in Jaun abseits von grossen Touristenströmen viel zu entdecken auf gut signalisierten Wanderwegen. Mit dem Auto sind weitere Touristenattraktionen sehr gut erreichbar. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wunderbarer Aufenthalt in gemütlicher Wohnung mit toller Aussicht

Wir haben 2 Wochen in dieser geräumigen Ferienwohnung mit voll ausgestatteter Küche verbracht und uns super wohl gefühlt. Dank des schönen Sommerwetters konnten wir die außergewöhnlich schöne Aussicht vom Balkon schon zum Frühstück bis zum Abend genießen, begleitet vom Rauschen des Wasserfalls und entferntem Kuhglockengeläut. Die Auffahrt zum Haus verläuft über eine schmale Bergstraße, was für Flachländer ein wenig Gewöhnung brauchen kann, aber mit gegenseitiger Rücksicht funktionierte das sehr gut. Die Straße führt weiter aufwärts zur Ritzlialpe, von einem Parkplatz unterhalb der Alpe aus kann man interessante Wandertouren auf verschiedene Gipfel oder bis zum Schwarzsee unternehmen, was natürlich eine gewisse Kondition und Ausdauer erfordert. DANKE für einen erholsamen und abwechslungsreichen Aufenthalt im Chalet Ilse.

Aussi agréable en été qu'en hiver

Après un séjour agréable en hiver, nous avons tenté l'expérience en été. Le logement est tout aussi agréable, et bien entretenu car 2 ans après tout est impeccable 👍🏻. Merci encore à Kerstin pour son accueil!
