Clean and right in the heart of downtown Dubuque, IA. Ken was very hospitable and quick to see that we had everything we needed. We stayed for a quick overnight stay so we didn’t use most of the amenities but the kitchen looked well stocked.

Thanks, Kara! I’m glad you enjoyed your quick stay and found everything you needed. You’re always welcome back anytime you’re in Dubuque!
Comfortable bed and clean accommodations. Air conditioning was excellent. The only coffee in supply for the Keurig was decaffeinated! Hopefully the next guest gets the good stuff.

Appreciate the great feedback! Glad you were comfortable and cool during your stay. And thanks for the heads-up on the coffee—I’ll make sure it’s stocked with the real deal next time!
This is our second time staying at Ken's place. In the Millwork District, steps away from the Saturday morning farmers market, a few blocks from a brewery, a craft bar a few doors away, an indie bookstore and El May restaurant a short walk. (great food and atmosphere) Ken's place is super clean, quiet and huge! He has a great restaurant around the corner. We will be back!

If you are looking for a location near the Millworks district, this is a tucked away, local option. Great communication with property manager.

Thank you for your feedback! We're thrilled that you appreciated the location near the Millworks district and found our communication to be great. It's our goal to provide a comfortable and convenient experience for our guests. If you're ever back in the area, we'd be more than happy to welcome you again!
The apartment was very clean. The kitchen was well-stocked. The location is easy to get to without going near the busy west end. The neighborhood was quiet. Easy walking in Downtown Dubuque. I’d stay there again!
Perfect location to Dubuque's Millwork Districts many shops, bars and restaurants. Private entrance to a spacious rental unit. Large kitchen with Keurig coffee maker. Many kitchen supplies although we just had morning coffee and meals out. Large lounge area with t.v. and even larger bedroom with the most comfortable king size bed. Location was quiet and rental owner Ken always available. We really enjoyed this location and so would you.
Loved the place, very good location and it was wonderful to get up and walk over to Jitterz Coffee Shop. My only comment is the king size bed has square memory foam pillows that were incredibly uncomfortable. We ended up changing our pillow cases to the decor pillows instead and it was much better. Overall a very lovely experience!
Large space than what is indicated by the photos. Host responded to questions and contacts within minutes. Would recommend this unit!

Hi Joseph,
You’re welcome, and thank you for choosing to stay with us again! I’m glad you had another great experience. Looking forward to your next visit!
Best regards, Ken
Check in info and Wi-Fi info was not correct but owner was easy to communicate with and helpful. Living room furniture needs foot stools or hassocks. Bedroom furniture was excellent. Very comfortable. Best location with craft brewery next door and Saturday fresh market right on Iowa street! We could get coffee in our Jammie’s!!
Excellent location to downtown stores and activities along the river. Safe. Unit in good shape with dated furnishing. But, very comfy and homey. Everything you need and plenty of HOT water. Bring your own pillow. Mine was too hard foam and large. I like small flat. So that is my problem. Tried to book the next week but no vacancy. Darn!

Didnt get correct wifi password until next day. Noisy in adjoining units. Had to park a block away. We are seniors, so long 1/2 block walk for us. Parking was not convenient for us, but probably ok for younger persons. I probably didnt communicate effectively. Everything we needed was included, but shower too slick for my husband.

Thanks for the feedback! Sorry again for the Wi-Fi mix-up and parking inconvenience — I completely understand that can be tough, especially after traveling. I’ll make sure to clarify both in future instructions. I’ll also add a non-slip mat in the shower for better safety. I really appreciate you sharing these details and hope the rest of your stay was comfortable.
I really enjoyed this property. The location was very walkable -a brewery a few doors down, cool indie bookstore and several coffee shops and El May restaurant the next block up was the best meal I have ever had. The Farmer's market on Saturday's (May-Oct) is right in front of the apartment. The apartment was quiet , spacious and very clean. With a comfortable bed. Short walk to the library. About a 5-10 minute drive to the Riverwalk and the Mississippi River Museum. Ken is a very nice host. Will certainly return.

Coming back home for a wedding we were excited to find this space! You are in a great part of town that has been rejuvenated and bustling. Farmers Market is RIGHT OUTSIDE of your door on Saturday mornings, do not miss out on this!
Ken was a true gem to work with. Very quick communication and so helpful.
The space itself is simple but everything you could need and so comfortable. Every room in the apartment has been thoughtfully prepared. No issues at all and would 100% stay here again.
Do not hesitate to book this listing

We stayed for 5 nights. Perfectly adequate and clean 1 bedroom apartment. The kitchen seemed great but we never cooked the entire visit, so can't comment on any of the appliances, other than the huge fridge. It's an old (125 years) house but everything was in good repair. Laundry is in a separate unit but is very close, and there are 4 washers and 4 dryers so lots of capacity. Parking is in a lot across the alley in the back. This place is 2 doors down from a beer and pizza place that has live music sometimes, and at least a dozen other restaurants and bars are within walking distance. Please note that as is common in small cities, many close earlier than you'd expect or are closed on certain days of the week. The couple of times we reached out to Ken he was easy to get a hold of and seems to live on-site, because we saw him several times working in the gardens. All in all it was a nice place to stay. We were surprised to find the entire block closed off for a large farmer's market when we woke up Saturday morning. Thanks Ken.

Hello, my name is Ken. I was born in China and moved to the United States in 1997 with very little English but a strong desire to build a better life. I first worked in restaurants in Chicago before moving to Dubuque in 2000, where I worked at Hy-Vee as a cook and later became the Chinese department manager. In 2003 I began investing in real estate, and in 2008 I left my job to focus on real estate full time. In 2018 I followed my passion for cooking and opened Oolong Asian Cuisine here in Dubuque. Over the years I have had the pleasure of hosting thousands of guests from around the world and have received over 4,000 guest reviews across my properties. My goal is simple: provide clean, comfortable homes and make every stay easy and enjoyable.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because it is one of the most vibrant and historic areas of Dubuque. Many of my properties are located near the downtown Millwork District, which has become a lively destination with great restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, and local businesses. Guests enjoy being close to the Mississippi River, the riverwalk, museums, and many of Dubuque’s historic landmarks. The area also has beautiful historic architecture and a welcoming small-city atmosphere. Whether guests are visiting for work, a weekend getaway, or exploring the region, this location makes it easy to enjoy everything Dubuque has to offer.
What makes this property unique
Our properties are designed to provide a comfortable and reliable stay. Many of the homes are located in historic buildings, but they are carefully updated with modern amenities, fast Wi-Fi, smart TVs, and fully equipped kitchens. We focus on cleanliness, comfort, and thoughtful details such as quality linens, well-maintained furniture, and convenient self check-in. With thousands of positive reviews from guests over the years, our goal is simple: provide a clean, safe, and enjoyable place where visitors can relax while experiencing the charm of Dubuque.
