Mountain Momma Hideaway

Secluded Cabin with Hot Tube Within Driving Distance To Multiple WV Tourist Spots

Mountain Momma Hideaway is your cabin for all occasions when visiting Wild, Wonderful West Virginia! Located in a central area to all things exploring and adventuring, the cabin accommodates up to 5 people on beds, more with air mattresses & and sits on 3 private acres.

The cabin includes the following: keyless entry, a 12ft x 20 ft back patio that is literally in the woods, complete with patio furniture and with a hot tub with jacuzzi jets. A fire pit, large front porch with porch swing and Adirondack chairs, a large driveway, and everything you'd need to feel right at home. Luxury, eco-friendly sheets and linens, fully-equipped kitchen with the Keurig and coffee pods, board games, a desk, dressers, all shower needs (by request) and even some fun extras can be found at the cabin. There is Wifi for you to stream your favorite streaming apps or music. Most cell phone providers have service here.

There is a king bed in the loft, a queen bed in one of the main level bedrooms and a twin in the other. There is a queen-sized air mattress if you need it. Just tell us to leave the sheets out!

Rustic getaway

The cabin was just what we were looking for. The hot tub was great and the location is close to hiking, climbing and lots of places to fish. There is no TV, and the wifi was hit or miss, but we were looking for a weekend away to unplug so this didn't bother us at all.

Mom Break

Three of us who are now empty nesters decided to take a break together. The cabin was exactly as described and exactly what we were looking for. We played games in the evenings, soaked in the hot tub. We headed to Smoke Hole Canyon for a hike one day too. Highly recommend!!

Nice cozy cabin

It was a nice quiet place to get away from it all. The whole area is beautiful. We hiked a Seneca Rocks. Went on a tour at Smoke Hole Caverns. It was a very nice vacation for our family.

Great for the whole family

We had a great time staying at the cabin! Everything was simple and the trip was really enjoyable. We brought our 2 dogs and 6 month old baby and felt very comfortable here. We can’t wait to come back and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the area as much as we do :)

Anniversary Forty-Six

We had a great time at the cabin. The hot tub is super nice. The setting is very peaceful. We visited Seneca Rocks nearby, Fort Mulligan (an earthen Civil War fort), and The Grove Coffee Shop. The owners were very helpful and communicated quickly. Highly recommend this spot!

Most relaxing weekend

Loved the woodland experience. The cottage was great; cozy and relaxing. Everything you would need at the opening of a cabinet. Quiet, secluded, and peaceful. The hot tub was the main attraction for us after a long day of hiking. The owners were a text away when needing assitance. My fur babies loved the time and space as well. The front porch was the main attraction for them. Hopefully do this again. Thank you Omalley's for letting us stay.

Loved the location ..

The location was great .was very relaxing and quite. But . couldn’t find the cabin as it was dark and no sign. The cabin was very cold when we arrived and air blew around all the doors . Always a draft .. seen some mice droppings on the counter. The bed sheets won’t clean we laid our stuff on top of them to lay on as they had stains on them . The shower handle kept falling off and the drain was stopped up .. Just needed some more cleaning and maybe update the closing of the doors to keep the heat in ..

Beautiful and rural

Pros: The cabin seemed newly renovated and updated, but still had some of the classic cabin vibes which we liked. The beds were very comfortable / soft and the location was very peaceful, private and rural, so beware if you don’t like to be at least 25 minutes from civilization. The road was gravel for about a half mile before getting to the cabin. We had no problems in our sedan getting to and from (this was during the summer mind you. The road is very steep so winter may be a different story). Cons: From our experience, the shower wasn’t all that clean. Some of it seemed like more long term grime. The hot tub also had some grime around the rim, but overall mostly clean. There was a bag of laundry left from the past cleaning in one of the rooms as well. The wifi was ok but consistently would stop working. I probably reset it about 4-5 times over the course of 3 days. The worst was definitely the mice visiting us at night. Not sure where they are coming from but a few traps would be ideal all things considered. We were unaware of this and they got into some of our food and woke us up on numerous occasions since the master bedroom is a balcony room overlooking the living room / kitchen area. Overall, we had a great time and the cabin is a great place to get disconnected from it all.

Rustic

Overall, we had a great trip. A few things to think about when booking this location is that it is a log cabin in the middle of the woods so be prepared for the bugs that come a long with that. Moths, stink bugs, bees, etc... occasioanl mouse...It is a little primitive. The backdoor should have a warning that you shouldn't open it because it's nearly impossible to shut all the way and lock. The first two nights we were concerned about the door as female travelers. Once the temperature dropped down and the wood wasn't swollen, we were able to finally shut the door and "lock it" . The front porch swing is the best part! We loved not having cable but in West VA it is hard to get service with Verizon so if you have a Garmin GPS, bring it! We loved Senecca Rock and you have to go to the river after! The people in Petersburg are so friendly. The food at Cheetah B's and the Hermitage Tap house was amazing. We unfortunately didn't realize how close Franklin was and didn't get the chance to experience it. When we left, we drove through and wished that we had checked out the hollow restaurant. The grove coffee and bakery were amazing! Don't be surprised if they know exactly where your cabin is.. I gather there isn't too many rentals in upper tract. I would recommend bringing your own fire supplies, bug spray, and a flashlight! Once you turn out the lights from the hot tub its pitch black to walk around to the front door. The owners were super responsive, and I feel like overall the cabin was clean! You are in the mountains..

Christmas stay

Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Mountain Momma Hideaway. All the amenities are as described and the pellet stove kept the place so warm and cozy. The kitchen was very well stocked for our holiday meal cooking. The hot tub was an excellent reward after an afternoon of hiking Cave Mountain- Redman Trail. Would stay again.

The owners, Mike and Sara, currently live in Maryland. Sara is a West Virginia native, and now real estate agent in Maryland. Mike is a career firefighter. They purchased the cabin to make memories with their family of 4 in Sara's home state, while also giving their friends and family an affordable place to stay while exploring their favorite part of West Virginia.
