Two bedroom furnished, sleeps five w/ fold out bed, full kitchen and bath with tub/shower, washer/dryer, 2 porches. 2nd story and steps are required, 1025 sq ft apartment with south facing windows and forested mountainside views. Indoor garage parking. Spring water and warm forced air gas heat. 423 Weiss Knob Ski Rd outside Davis, WV. We are at the end of a quiet rural road and very private, although adjacent to the Chase home. Seasonal access to the WG sauna. Secluded 8 acre reserve with water falls, small native trout stream, and shelter within an old growth forest. Streamside trails throughout the property as well as over 100 kilometers hiking trails locally. Endless recreational opportunities in this outdoor paradise. Two night minimum. Pets allowed for $40 cleaning fee. We have two friendly dogs and an amazingly cute cat. They all three occasionally bark yet we are sensitive to your peace and quiet. . VISA/MC accepted. * Walking distance to an Appalachian bubbling sand spring.

Fantastic place for family adventure

We had a great stay at the Garagemahal! Only wish we had come when there was snow for skiing at White Grass! The place was great for our family of four. Everything was as expected. The hosts were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the unexpectedly warm weather by hiking the area, including fantastic hiking starting from the place itself.

Chip Chase and Laurie Little have operated the White Grass Touring Center and Cafe for 40 years. Chip is an all around naturalist while Laurie is one of the best read authors of two popular cookbooks.

Why they chose this property

Just over a mile to the western edge of Dolly Sods and Canaan State Park as well as adjacent to the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge. Under 5 minutes to the new Nat'l Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center and a 9.6 mile, 20 minute drive to Laneville and the bottom of Red Creek Trail in Dolly Sods. Chip and Laurie hold a deep understanding of the area and are willing to share it.

What makes this property unique

In winter to be trailside on one of the nation's favorite cross country ski areas and in summer within a short walk or drive to some of the finest white water streams, pristine swimming holes, wild caves, and the funky tourist towns of Davis and Thomas.
