About this property
Villa on Lake Arenal - Adventure + Relaxation - Quiet Gated Community
Unplug and breathe in life! Lake Breeze Villa is located in a secluded, quiet, gated community of just 16 homes on the prime north shore of fabulous Lake Arenal.
The downstairs master bedroom has a king bed with windows on three sides for a wonderful indoor-outdoor feel. It has air conditioning and a desk that digital nomads can set up space with an attached spacious multi-shelf built-in wooden closet. It also connects to the downstairs bathroom featuring hot water for the shower and double vanity.
The upstairs master bedroom also has a king bed with doors leading to the expansive wrap around terrace. It connects to a bathroom which features hot water, a tub, and double vanity with access to the amazing outdoor shower. There is also air condition unit and a wooden desk to set up workspace and large vaulted ceiling with a walk-in closet.
The third bedroom (bunkroom) features a queen bed and two sets of bunkbeds, built long and sturdy enough to specifically accommodate adult lengths and weights. There is an air condition unit and a tall dresser for storing clothing. There are also two doors to access balconies. You can enter the room off the upstairs living room or via the hallway.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator with icemaker and a porcelain farm sink. There is a full set of cookware and silverware/utensils, and a charcoal grill to use. We prefer to eat outside in the Breezeway, but there is also indoor seating at the dining bar and around the island. There is a coffee maker, juicer, and blender so you can taste all the goodness of the local flavors. Check the yard adjacent to the driveway to see if the avocado and lime trees have gifted you ripe fruit for your taking. Opening the barndoor windows allows for the most amazing cross ventilation breezes carrying the sounds of birds and monkeys. If you must plug in, the kitchen also offers strong fiber optic internet signal with space for setup.
The home also includes a washer and dryer if you are considering a longer term rental and/or so you can consider packing lighter and washing your wardrobe after all your fun excursions.
Outside is where it's at! We have 3 unique levels of outdoor living for your enjoyment. The Breezeway on the ground floor has a couch, chairs, and glass topped table, along with a wood fireplace to cozy up to on the slightly cooler evenings. One level up, you'll find the Terrace accessible from every room upstairs which provides 180 degrees of magnificent views and nature watching as tropical birds often perch on the railing. Under the canopy is one of our favorite spots to lean back in the lounge chairs and read a book or have a massage. It is also invigorating to experience the outdoor shower at dusk. Even higher, the Sky Deck is a great spot for yoga in the morning, lounging with binoculars during the day, a cocktail or frozen drink at sunset, or moon and star gazing in a dark-sky setting. The Sky Deck is a unique feature to our home providing a 360 degree view including jungle, lake, and even the top cone of the Arenal Volcano. We also have a 2-Person Kayak and 2 Stand-Up Paddleboards for you to explore our stunning section of Lake Arenal, upon request.
Our home is just 2 miles from the charming village of Nuevo Arenal, where all of your necessities can be met. You will find several grocery stores, excellent highly-rated restaurant options, a bank, a bus stop to Tilaran and La Fortuna, and other essential services to ensure a great stay. Our home is less than 30 miles from the bustling, more touristy town of La Fortuna; home of Arenal Volcano. The drive is on a beautiful winding road adjacent to the lake often crossed by coatimundi and some vendors selling pipa fria (coconut water) in recently chopped coconuts.
Lake Arenal is home to countless outdoor attractions suitable for every type of adventurer including hiking, ziplining, canopy / hanging bridge tours, canyoning, ATVs, stand up paddling (SUPing), kayaking, wind surfing, river rafting, hot springs, fishing, horse back riding, volcanos, mountain biking, waterfalls, butterfly gardens, caves, animal reserves, bird watching, coffee & chocolate tours. All of these activities are easily accessible from our home, Lake Breeze Villa.
If you can’t tell, we absolutely love it here on Lake Arenal, and we know you will as well.

About the host
Hosted by Kirsten/Dennis

Our pathway to Costa Rica began in 1999 through a foreign exchange student program. The language and culture lassoed my heart and soul and never let go. We continued to experience many other countries such as Spain, Germany, England, Italy, France, Iceland, Brasil, Honduras, and Mexico. Even though we appreciated and saw the beauty in each country and culture, Costa Rica is the only place we craved continuously. So we had no choice but to also make this magical place our home. It also brings us joy to periodically share our home so that others can experience this Pura Vida culture!
Why they chose this property
From the first moment we saw this property, it took our breath away! The architecture was unique and bold. The subtle details like the brick ceiling in the kitchen, the arched convex wooden doorway, outdoor shower, and the sky deck make the home truly one of a kind. Combine the craftsmanship with the home's location on the outskirts of a quaint town in the surrounding jungle, with breathtaking lake views, the avocado and lime tree (literally our two favorite fruits) and all of it's birds and flowering plants, and we knew this was OUR PLACE for years to come. This place helps us unplug and breathe in life!
What makes this property unique
Our home is less than 100 meters from the lake dock where we layout and nap to the sounds of lapping water, and take our Kayak or Paddle Boards out to the middle of the cove for some tranquility and stretching, The 180 degree views and breeze from the wrap around back Terrace are amazing. The "birds-eye view" and sunsets from the 360 degree view Sky Deck and watching toucans dart from tree to tree is unforgettable. We also love making morning smoothies from the fruit trees in our yard and neighborhood, harvesting fresh avocados, bananas, passion fruit, and limes right off the trees once ripe.
