Adorable, historic 1870’s Farmhouse on two acres. “So cute!” (Said the last guest). Enjoy the peace and quiet of country living. Yet close to all the activities the St. Joseph River community has to offer. Nestled between Buchanan & Berrien Springs, enjoy Fernwood Nature Center, River Saint Joe’s dining, wineries incl. Domaine Berrien Cellars around the corner, farmers’ markets, biking & hiking trails, boating, kayaking, bird watching, bicycling. Floating down the river. Snow skiing or snowmobiling.The St. Joe River Miami Marina boat launch is just 7 mins away! For Beaching, it’s just a short drive to the Lake Michigan beaches. The Farm is private yet accessible! Fully equipped kitchen for the most discerning gourmet chef. Oven, dishwasher, cook top, a gas & charcoal grill, 2 different coffee makers, Kerrig, and drip, and large side deck off the kitchen facing beautiful, large green space for entertaining. Outdoor fire pit for enjoying stories around the camp fire. Hammock to relax in. Enjoy sitting on the front porch in your comfy rocker enjoying the sunset, or relax on the covered, back porch while grilling. If inclement weather, the covered porch is a blessing. A perfect place for a romantic getaway for just two with the primary bedroom on the first level. Or enjoy a group outing as we sleep 12 comfortably with one first floor bedroom & five upstairs bedrooms. TV on wheels to move where you want it! Ask about our rates for hosting a special event such as a small wedding, party or family reunion. We have a tent available for rent and can arrange all the details with you! Handicap accessible with ramp and first floor bedroom/bathroom. Enjoy the St. Joe River for fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, or hiking. Canoe and kayak rentals on the Dowagiac River or St. Joseph River. There are two nature preserves within miles and two boat launches at your finger tips. It was a cute little house and when I first pulled up and went inside I thought there is a lot of potential here. However, the house is in need of little repairs, coffee maker doesn't really work, and is quite an odd layout with a bathroom and bedroom without proper doors. The kitchen is hot (no AC there) and is moderately stocked (I've seen worse but also seen better). Overall, I'd say the "little things" were lacking that help guests overlook the minor inconveniences. Not enough TP or paper towels, only 2 dish washing pods for 5 nights and 11 people, handsoap nearly gone in bathrooms, and overall felt the owner was a little chintzy (not even any laundry detergent). Definitely potential but the host needs to up her game in the little things to overcome the downsides of the property. Bottom line is we were not uncomfortable per se, but we won't be staying here again.

Child Friendly

Great place to stay with small children. There was a fun bunk bed for our toddler and they provided baby gates so that our baby couldn’t climb up the stairs. We had a great visit with family.

Overall, this place is not worth the amount of money they charge. They lock certain bedrooms and just give you the rooms they want to.We ended up with ones with shower curtains for the doorways. The upstairs bathroom also had a shower curtain and not a door.. When recalled, they didn't offer to come and fix anything.They just offered to give us a refund and we were kind of stuck staying there the first night because we had nowhere else to go.

The fridge was broke, and water was all over the kitchen floor from the freezer.
Surface dust and cobwebs throughout the house
The washing machine took almost five hours to fill with no water pressure. Later, we were told they did not believe anybody used it, but them, and they knew it was broke.But did not want to fix it

Memories Made

Enjoyed a nice relaxing time with family and celebrating Thanksgiving. The house was awesome, and it reminded us of our farmhouse in Virginia. The big table allowed us to have a wonderful meal. We will defiantly use this house again when we visit.

Farm house bewtween Berrien Sorings and Buchanan

Had a great day… My wife loved the charm of the farmhouse features and we had a great family bonfire on a cool November night 👍 Lots of games and everything you need.

We enjoyed staying at the farm!

We all loved the Farm! We had adults and children totaling 12 people and we all had space to roam. The Farm was clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. The beds were comfy, the towels were fluffy and the kitchen was well stocked. We all enjoyed making s’mores and talking around the campfire at night.We enjoyed being out in the country and star watching. It was a great stay.

Great Stay!

A few friends and I were in town for a wedding and stayed at the property with our dogs. It is a beautiful setting, especially in fall! We enjoyed using the deck and fire pit, and the beds were comfy. One thing to note is to have an accurate count of how many people will be staying with you because that will change the price of your stay.
