Wake up ON the Lake aboard Ramble on Rose

Ramble on Rose is a houseboat with tons of charm! Wake up to the sounds of the water and go to bed watching an amazing sunset!

The outdoor space of this boat is great! The large front deck has a table and chair set for 4. The upper deck has patio furniture, perfect to enjoy the evening views.

Inside you will find a king size bed, kitchen area with fridge/microwave and kcup coffee maker. The front living area has a futon that can double as additional sleeping area.
While there is a bathroom on the boat, we ask this is used sparingly as the systems are sensitive. We have a a BRAND NEW bathhouse that was built at our dock. There are three full bathrooms with regular size showers, toilets and sinks. Just steps away from the boat. (2023)

There is a brand new heating and air conditioner unit that was added in 2023.

You will love being able to walk to the beach and having Downtown Port Clinton activities within minutes. Restaurants, bars, live music, festivals, farmers markets, art shows and more! If you have a boat/jet skis/kayak this is the paradise for you. Please let us know if you would like to bring it, we have dock spaces available. There is access to Lake Erie and the Portage River directly from the marina. The Sandusky Bay is only a few minutes’ drive, as well as Cedar Point. The Jet Express is a couple minutes down the road, and you can be to Put N Bay or Kelley’s Island quickly!

Reminder, this is a boat on the water, in a marina. There are other houseboats and personal boats in the marina. The boats do not move from the dock but simply camping on the water! Depending on the weather, there can be movement. There can also be different kinds of wildlife and bugs. This is similar to camping, but on the water! Spiders, Flies, Mayflies, Nats, etc are all creatures of the water areas. We do spray and clean for these, but want to make you aware that you may see them. We do our best to keep you comfortable! Please let us know if there is anything we can do while you are with us.

Unique & Memorable

We were looking for "something different" for our short getaway, and the Ramble on Rose houseboat was a great choice. We enjoyed our experience both on the boat and in Port Clinton. Josh & Michelle are terrific hosts and left a sweet birthday surprise for me at our arrival! We stayed only 2 nights, which was just right for us, as the "cozy" space might have felt a bit too tight if staying longer. And we were surprised by how few of the Port Clinton restaurants were closed or only opened for dinner on Tuesday & Wednesday, given it was still summertime. Our benefit in being on the boat during the week was a quiet, private experience on the houseboat, pier, and bathhouse (which was quite spacious, well-built and well-maintained).

Ramble On Rose

We stayed 2 nights aboard Ramble On Rose during the 4th of July. We watched the fireworks from Port Clinton and other areas on top deck. What a show! We had an amazing time! Now....the PROS & CONS PROS... Boat was clean The smell inside was delightful. Didnt smell musty or fishy. Towels/toilet paper were provided. Plasticware/silverware available. KCups/coffee/insulated cups & snacks provided. Refrigerator/microwave worked. A/C worked excellent in 89° weather. 2 additional fans were already on when we arrived. (Thank you!) Clean bedding Curtains covered all windows. Outside patio furniture was comfy. Kayaks/fishing poles- free to renters. Fishing was good especially at night. We caught a few catfish and of course "the BIG one got away" The view is gorgeous especially the sunsets. Although I didn't personally meet Michelle I did text her a few questions and she responded quickly. Josh was friendly and helpful. Walking to the restrooms/shower house was no big deal. It's only about 4 boats down. But at night time I did use the toilet on the boat for #1 use ONLY with no issues. The shower house nice/clean There's 2 rooms with each a toilet, shower, bench, sink & mirror. Check in/out/parking was easy It's peacefully at night. CONS.... Outside boat & furniture covered in cobwebs. I just asked Josh for a broom to knock them down so we wouldn't be running into them. It's nature/outside so I understand they will be present. We definitely will be back!
