I can't say enough good things about our host and our stay. She was so attentive to everything and checked on us while we were there. The house was so comfy and we felt so at home. It made it so easy to get to Pisgah National Forest and many other places. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our trip and stay a wonderful experience.

This property is very clean and well stocked. The fenced yard was great for our dogs. Location is great close to Pisgah National Forest and Brevard. Heidi was very responsive and accommodating. Great stay!
This house was perfect for a group of friends for a mtn biking vacation trip. The house is very newly renovated, well equipped and in perfect location to hit the trails. I would definitely stay here again.

Thanks for the review Michael! glad you guys had a great time and we will be happy to host you on your next Brevard MTB trip!
This house was very well laid out, lots of space and a very nice backyard. We did not bring a dog, but if you did, you would have no worries, leaving it in the backyard. It was very convenient to stay there and spend the day at the campground, about seven minutes away

Two brothers on an annual fishing trip and we found the home delightfully clean and well provisioned. Access to the area was good and no problems with check-in. Heidi was very responsive to my questions. I would recommend this home for the future.

Cute home with everything you may need. Location on a main road, but is accessible to many other attractions - mountains via two wonderful parks, breweries and cute towns like Brevard, Flat Rock and Highlands. Extra bonus is the large fenced in backyard which was a blast for our dogs!

Thank you Linda for taking the time to review us and choosing The Pisgah Portal for your vacation time in the mountains!
Big backyard for dogs, fire pit, pretty much everything you need in the kitchen, not far from downtown Brevard. Not far from the Sliding Rock or Looking Glass Falls either. Host was responsive.
This is a great place for a biking getaway. Plenty of room for four guys, cool basement and backyard, and convenient location to town and the riding areas of DuPont and Pisgah.

Our family was in town for a Memorial and five of us stayed at the house. It was perfect for what we needed. Our Goldendoodle was over the moon to have a fenced backyard. Very clean, very stocked and extremely comfortable.

Thank you Debbie for your wonderful review. We're just so glad you and family were able to have a comfortable home during these days of the Memorial trip.
This place was great for us! We didn’t bring the bikes with us this time but I can’t wait to come back on a riding trip. The location is right outside of PNF. The basement is perfect for stashing the bike and your gear. They have an awesome back yard that was great for our dog. She’ll be dreaming of it for a while. The coffee bar available was much appreciated as well.

I'm so glad you guys had a great time!! I appreciate great guests like you who take care of the home and would be thrilled to host you again anytime you come back to the area! Thanks for taking the time and the awesome review.
My adult son and I stayed 3 nights to do some hiking in the area. The home is just minutes from access to DuPont recreation area, and on the fringe of Brevard town limits. Home is beautifully updated and exactly as pictured. Kitchen is well-stocked and there are many thoughtful extra touches throughout the home. Beds are comfortable, and we felt right at home. Our pup loved the fenced yard, and we enjoyed the firepit every night!

Thank you Stephanie for the great review and choosing our house the Pisgah Portal for your getaway!
We booked this house due to proximity to hub and mountain bike trails. House was perfect location, super clean and had all you need for a stay. House is off main road, which we knew, but traffic noise was not an issue at all. Big backyard, awesome bike storage in the basement, as well as a tool and cleaning station in the back yard. Did not use fire pit due to time and weather, but next time. We will book this house on our next trip.

Absolutely fantastic home. This house is designed for mountain bikers. The basement has bike and gear racks while the backyard has washing and maintenance areas. Our bernedoodle loved the expansive backyard with the tall fence. The house was clean and had everything we could need. Definitely a winner!

Hi Lisa, thanks you for choosing our home for your stay. We appreciate your feedback because our goal is for all our guests to have no less than a 5-star experience. The house is located on a direct road that leads into the Pisgah National Forest (within 1 mile of entrance to forest). We love this for accessibility the house offers to the outdoor fun, and although the house sits pretty off the road, I can understand how the weekend you stayed being this years peak fall foliage weekend had more traffic than usual. I happened to be in the area that weekend, it was a beautiful sunny weekend with peak foliage and the amount of traffic was heavier than usual with so many people wanting to take advantage of the beautiful weather and scenery!
Thanks for the suggestion on labeling the tv remotes, it's a great idea that we will implement! However, as seen on listing and photos, we only have one television in the house, and do not intend on adding more tv's to the home. We view this house as a comfortable hub for all outdoor adventures, however are believers that after an exhausting day of play the blue lights are off in the bedrooms and its time for a restful sleep of recovery.
If Tv's in the bedrooms are a priority please do not book this home.
My family and a couple of friends stay at this home to help clean up after the hurricane. We booked the home knowing there was a chance we wouldn’t have power. When we got there, we noticed the other homes around had power. We reach out to Heidi and she was on top of it! They even called to see if a breaker had tripped to see about resetting it. The next day, we had power! This is a lovely home that met our needs. This was our second time staying here and we will definitely stay here again.

Sarah, thank you for coming to the area to help with hurricane relief efforts! Thank you for choosing to stay in our place again during this time and taking the leap even without power to come and support our community!
This home truly felt like a beautiful retreat! Every detail the owners have poured into the decor, furnishings, mattresses, beautiful touches like top end appliances, coffee bar set up and food/water bowls for any pets, made our stay that much more enjoyable! Our mom was born in the area and we visit each spring and summer to spend time with extended family nearby and place flowers at our mom’s memorial. The location of this home was perfect as it is close to Pisgah Forest entrance, downtown and shopping. The sunset view of the sun going down in the national forest that you can see from the back deck is gorgeous! The large fenced in backyard provides great space to be outdoors when the weather is nice and plenty of room for any pets to roam safely. It was quiet at night and just a great, comfortable home! Of the houses we’ve rented in the area this has been by far the best for layout, comfort, location, sense of safety and communication with the owner. Would highly recommend if considering a visit to the beautiful land of the waterfalls.
This is a beautiful property. Conveniently located to everything in Brevard. I have 2 dogs, the house and huge fenced in backyard were heaven for them. We enjoyed our time there. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone!!

Thank you Karna for being a great guest and for the awesome review!
Our family of five adults, plus one dog, stayed here in August 2022, and it was one of the best rentals we've ever found in Brevard - just perfect for us!
The owners truly care about their home, and it shows. This visit, upon arrival, was no different. The place was clean, well stocked and even tastefully decorated for the Christmas holiday. Just lovely.
No one thought that Mother Nature would negatively affect our visit this far south. But we lost power for about 6-7 hours during the bitter cold temps, only one house of about 1,000+, during daytime hours, at least. That alone turned out not to be so bad on a sunny day; we had a sweater for our dog. And we got heat back on (6-7 hours later) as soon as the power was restored.
But as the power went out, so did the water. This house has well water. Once the power came back on, we tried everything we knew to do to get the pump restarted and water back on, but it didn't work - likely a frozen well head or pipe. Because it was now Xmas Eve and Xmas Day, and all local plumbers were overwhelmed trying to service other permanent resident's homes where pipes and systems froze in the extreme temperatures, we didn't get running water back in the house before our departure. The homeowners also did their best to try and get it fixed, of course. But when they couldn't, they provided a refund, even though we were able to spend each night of our reservation there with plenty of heat. It was the right thing to do. That shows the character of these owners.
So, we'll be back! Hopefully in less extreme weather conditions.
You should rent this place, too! You won't regret it.
