Very private location. The property was perfect for us and access to the private beach made for beautiful beach walks with the most incredible sunrises. Sarah was so extremely helpful during our stay, answering question, making suggestions, etc. She is a gem!!
This home and property are just beautiful. If you want to unwind and get away from it all, this is the place to be. We walked on the beach, waded in the water looking at cool stones, and had campfires under the stars. It was just lovely. The host is very helpful and responds quicly to any inquiries. This was our first stay on Beaver Island, but I am sure it will not be the last.
My Family loved it here. The Perfect get away, exactly what we needed.
The house had everything we needed, and was very thoughtfully stocked with all the kitchen things we would have never remembered to bring.
On our list of places to visit again!
This secret hideaway on the island’s secluded south side was our greatest escape! Quiet easterly beach-front property for the early birds, the best light show in Northern Michigan for the stargazers, and situated close to a series of bays, historical sites, and hiking trails for all the adventuring in between. The home was thoughtfully put together with lots of versatility to accommodate groups both big and small. And the owners were great to work with. 10/10 would recommend!
We had a great time staying at the Guest House for our first trip to Beaver Island. The house was clean, had everything we needed and Sarah was wonderful to work with. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans and cooking utensils. We traveled with two kids and four adults and the space was a comfortable fit for all. The kids appreciated the provided games and DVDs and the adults appreciated the deck With views of the lake. The beach access is directly across the street and this allowed for some great star gazing and rock hunting. We brought our car over, which was helpful because it is about a 25 minute drive to town. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit!
from start to finish, the property owner was nothing but a delight to work with… quick to respond, upbeat, and very knowledgeable about beaver island My wife, dog, and I stayed at the guest house during the first week of July and had a wonderful trip. Beaver Island is a fantastic destination for a week-long vacation, especially in July when the weather is warm and inviting. The guest house is a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. With its stunning natural beauty and laid-back atmosphere, it’s an ideal spot for those looking to unwind and connect with nature. We loved the sandy beaches that are perfect for sunbathing, picnicking, or simply enjoying the sound of waves lapping against the shore.Iron Ore Bay, Cable Creek, Lighthouse beach were some of our favorite spots. Kayaking, fishing, hiking, and birding were some of our favorite things to do! Bugs were bad… get a bug mask if coming during july!
It was spacious and met our needs, clean, the beach was nice, very private and quiet setting. There were carbon monoxide and smoke detectors in each room.
A few cons: there was a bit of a bug problem, there were screws and hinges in and around the fire pit and a window that was cracked all the way across with tape and a note not to touch over it, which I would have liked to be aware of with my younger children.
We loved this house! We cooked all of our meals in the well stocked kitchen, enjoyed coffee on the deck with views of Lake Michigan, played games and watched movies, and all slept great in comfortable beds with plenty of space. Kids loved rock hunting at the beach. Cannot think of anything that would have made it better. Longer drive from town but we knew that and were ok with it. Short drive to the nice beach at iron ore bay and the old light house. Check the binder for maps and tours! We didn’t bbq or have bonfires because fire danger was high the week we were there, but there’s a nice fire pit on the beach that looked fun- just be prepared to shift plans if necessary! We have nothing negative to say, truly loved our stay. Just for others reading reviews though- the bedrooms don’t have blinds or shades, so if you need a dark room to sleep plan accordingly. We thought it might be an issue since our kids go to bed before sunset in the summer, but they were so worn out from our activities all day that they slept just fine.
A lovely home in a pristine environment. The night skies were breathtaking. We will fondly remember our trip to Beaver Island - thank you for opening your home for us to make lasting memories!
