Neighborhood: Our cabin is located in the Paradise Estates neighborhood. Guests are able to use the lake and playground area during their stay (<1mi from the cabin). There is not a lifeguard on duty at the lake. Swim at your own risk. Snow: Tire chains are required in your car from November-May if you plan on going to Mt. Rainier National Park. During the winter months, you may encounter snow or ice in the neighborhood so we suggest bringing an AWD vehicle. We try and keep our driveway plowed as often as we can, but there may be times when you'll need to drive in snow and ice (weather dependent).
Power Outages: Occasionally, the power goes out in Ashford during a heavy rain or winter storms. We have a propane range and grill for cooking, and a gas fireplace for heat source. We also provide flashlights and lanterns for the evenings. Should the power go out for a short while during your stay we suggest taking advantage of the peacefulness by starting a fire in the fire pit, reading a book, playing a game, work on a puzzle, color or draw! Note: Firewood is not provided but is available at multiple locations in town, including the barber shop and the general store.
Cell phone service & Wifi: Cell phone service is spotty. Please check with your phone provider to figure out if you will have service in Ashford - 98304. We have satellite internet is around 30 mbps. Please note that Ashford is a rural area and there may be times of WiFi outages. We encourage you to unwind in our relaxing retreat with the suggested activities listed above!

Spacious cabin in perfect location to explore Mt. Rainier NP. The home had everything we needed and the host was very responsive. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Mt. Rainier.
We absolutely adored this stay! The house is perfect inside and out! From the beautiful neighborhood and surrounding to the wonderful amenities, we could not have asked for more. The host was very communicative and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this stay! Hope to be back in the summer.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would choose to stay here again.
The fireplace is wonderful. It provides a cozy atmosphere and plenty of heat.
We only got in the hot tub on the final day and felt silly for not using it on the other days.
Kitchen is great with a full size fridge, lots of counter space, a good stovetop, and is pretty well stocked with dishes and utensils. (Recommendation is to add a cheese grater.)
We've stayed in multiple vacation homes in Ashford over the past 6 years and this place definitely gets two thumbs up from us.
Our dog, Major, came along on this vacation and he enjoyed his days by the fireplace.
The only thing we wish was better was the mattress. The one in the main bedroom is very soft. It's a bit like a waterbed experience when two people are in it. As a result we slept in separate beds. Husband in master and me in the upstairs den. There is a third bed downstairs, but it had a crinkle sounding mattress cover and the room felt "meh" compared to the rest of the house. I preferred the "kid's" bed in the den cause it was firm and the space had a cozy feel. With this sleeping arrangement we both got good sleep.
The Hiking Bookworms
We were two couples who stayed 3 nights on a long weekend. Cabin looks just as described-very modern and good trim/decorating. Kitchen was a delight to cook in--especially nice after long days hiking...enough plates and silverware for the four of us. The whole home is very spacious.
David was quick to answer my questions in advance of our arrival. Notably, there is an electrical plug by the front door, which allowed us to easily plug in our electrical car. Really, this was fantastic, since there are virtually no commercial chargers nearby.
We were immensely grateful for the A/C on the first floor, as we had 95 degree weather each day until our departure, which made the first floor (and one bedroom) so much more comfortable than the alternative of only fans and open windows; area wildfires were making the air really unpleasant.
However, the couple sleeping in the 2nd floor bedroom (which doesn't have A/C) was in a pickle. The temps up on the 2nd floor were quite high, but there was also bad air quality, so they were reluctant to open up the windows on that floor. They eventually chose to do this as late as they could in the evening, hoping that the particles would improve overnight; it mostly worked out for them. Basically, if the smoke isn't around, I'm sure the 2nd floor would be fine with the open window / cross breeze.
We didn't use the grill or hot tub (it was plenty warm already!) but they both looked like they would be enticing if the weather was cooler!
We as a family of 7 were awaiting MT Rainer climbers who had summited the mountain. The home and all the lovely supplies and great hot tub was perfect for our family! Thank you for such a great stay!
We had 6 adults stay here to hike at Paradise for a long weekend. While the wildfire smoke thwarted us from hiking, the home was lovely. Exactly as listed, and 45 min drive from Paradise. Would recommend to others!
