About Teal Lake: This home has over 200 feet of level shoreline lake frontage on Teal Lake. In our opinion, Teal is one of the best kept secrets in the area. It's a large lake with 1024 acres to explore and has a maximum depth of 31 feet. It also connects to Lost Land Lake. The fishing on Teal is excellent. It's known for large Musky, Pan fish, Large mouth Bass, Small mouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. You're welcome to bring your own boats and park them at the dock during your stay. We can also recommend rental options if you wish to rent a pontoon or fishing boat. The rental does include a canoe for guests to use.
NOTE - Teal Lake is a Quiet Lake. Special QUIET LAKE Rules Apply on this lake -No person shall operate a boat on any of the waters identified by this ordinance at a speed greater than 10 m.p.h. So no pesky jet skis or wake boats to deal with while you explore the lake.
A Note About Dogs:
We LOVE dogs and we want our guests to enjoy their vacation with the whole family, including the furry members :-) That being said, please be mindful of whether our home is appropriate for your dog(s).
We may not be the vacation rental for you if your dog(s):
*Consider barking to be a favorite pastime;
*Chew things other than bones;
*Like to visit the neighbors unsupervised (we do not have a fenced-in yard), and/or;
*Use the house as a bathroom.
We allow up to two dogs with prior approval and a small extra fee applies. Please tell us about your pets. We ask that your dogs be supervised when at the cabin and crated if left alone in the cabin. Also, it should not need to be said (but unfortunately needs to be, as we have had guests leave enough surprises for us), but PLEASE pick up after your dogs!! It is NOT the responsibility of our cleaners.
A Note About Occupancy:
The maximum occupancy at the cabin is 12 people. There are NO exceptions to this. We limit the number of people for a reason: our systems (septic, hot water) cannot accommodate large numbers of people. Please note that if you have more than 12 people you will be charged $100 per extra person, per day OR you will be asked to leave without a refund for the remaining days. Unfortunately we have had multiple guests who have abused this rule and it has caused problems for our systems. If we have reason to suspect there are more than 12 people, our caretaker has the right to stop by and check in. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Great communication. Great flow of space for our large family. Great location. Comfortable beds. Wonderful to have access to the 2 car garage in the winter.
Thanks so much, Mary! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the space—having room to spread out really makes a difference on a getaway. We'd love to welcome you back again sometime soon!

We really loved the large dining table and windows overlooking the lake. Perfect for meals and games. Loved the dock and fire pit. The shuffleboard in the basement was a big hit. The loft bedroom with bathroom and reading nook was a hit too. Place has a great vibe.

Family vacation with three generations, ages 6 to 66, twelve people total. The lakehome was plenty spacious. Only the lower level bedroom is furnished with beds for children, so Grandma (me) slept down there with granddaughters. The rest of the house worked perfectly for us, and the lake and view were fantastic.withfamilies

We came up from Kansas with our kiddos. We loved having the view, fire pit, kayaks, canoe, the dock! It was all fantastic!! Kitchen well stocked. Sleeping spaces are great. The management was very quick to respond with questions and very helpful. The house was clean and updated.
My family and I stayed at the Lost Dutchman Lodge on Teal lake in early May 2024. We had a memorable time. The cabin was beautiful. It was clean and had very comfortable furniture to unwind in after a day of great fishing on Teal Lake. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you may need during your stay and the beds were comfy. It had a real "homey" feel to it which we loved. Jon from the management company was very quick and helpful with any questions I had. We already booked for May 2025!

Beautiful property with a stunning view of Teal Lake from the living room and kitchen. One of the cleanest rentals we have stayed in with a well equiped kitchen to prepare meals for our group of 9. A 20 minute drive from the quant town of Hayward for some shopping. The rest is right there for family fun, fishing, sitting by the fire pit, enjoying the beauty of Northern Wisconsin, and the shuffleboard table in the basement was a real hit. We brought along our two family dogs, for the first time and really enjoyed having them along. Would recommend.
Nice, large cabin that easily accommodated 8 of us, and several more could have easily stayed in the basement. Loved the quiet lake rules. Several places to rent a boat and slow cruise the lake or fish. Flat back yard, deck, and purposeful fire ring setup had us outside nonstop. FYI for the kids, there's no beach and dock in a heavy weeded bay. Definitely get out on the boat to do some swimming instead. Good news is the bay provided great protections from some heavier winds. Great for using the provided kayaks!

Thank you for the great review, Garett! We're so glad your family enjoyed the cabin and the peaceful atmosphere on the lake. It sounds like you made the most of the outdoor space and had a lot of fun by the fire and with the kayaks. The bay's calmness is definitely a bonus, especially when winds pick up. We appreciate the heads-up for future guests about swimming, and it’s great that you were able to get out on the boat to enjoy the lake. We’d love to have you back anytime!

Pics were accurate and house was perfect for our 4 adults) late fall fishing visit to the Hayward area. Clean warm spacious with great: views of the lake, interior lighting and kitchen area. The 4 full bathrooms were ideal. The garage was an added plus.
My only regret was we did not get a chance to fully take advantage of what else the house had to offer (canoes, kayaks, fire pit) due to our other commitments.
Everything the property manager provided was as written and expected. Very helpful and clear.
I’ve stayed at other places in the area and will come back to the Lost Dutchman property for sure.

My family of 10 people had a great time at the Lost Dutchman for a week of fun. The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with high quality quality pots, pans, dishes, and silverware. We enjoyed a few campfires in the fire pit. We took the kayaks out on the lake multiple times; it was very nice to have them available. We also rented a pontoon boat and had no problems docking it at the house. We took advantage of the yard and played badminton. Use of the garage for parking was a bonus, something we've never seen at other rental houses. The only thing that we would suggest as improvements are a gas grill instead of charcoal. Overall it was a great experience.
