Lake home on beautiful private lake, 15 miles from downtown Hayward, WI

Nestled among north woods pines, this chalet-style lake home is a 4-season retreat. The privacy and tranquility of this home is a rare find for vacationers.

House sits on 4 wooded acres on the shores of Ole Lake in Hayward. This crystal clear water lake is perfect for boating, fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing, and kayaking. This home offers 200 feet of private lake frontage.

Because it is private, Ole Lake is "underfished." It's loaded with musky, northern pike, bass and pan fish. There is no public boat access to Ole Lake. Therefore, we provide our 22-ft pontoon boat exclusively for your use for a separate fee. Boat is not in the water between late October until some time in May.

Also, if you wish to bring your own boat, there is easy public boat access to nearby lakes: Lost Land, Teal, Round, Spider, Lac Courte Oreilles, etc.

Home is located 1/2 mile from Lost Land Lake Lodge, known for Hayward's best fish fry, where you can enjoy great food and drink with incredible views of Lost Land Lake.

Lake home has 4 bedrooms. Upstairs bedroom has a Queen size bed, and the 2 bedrooms on the main floor also have Queen size beds. There is also a set of twin bunk beds in the finished area of the basement. Finally, there is a couch/fold down futon which can also be used as a bed. For your convenience, there is a full bath on each of the 3 levels.

This property is connected to miles of trails for cross-country skiing, snowmobiles, ATVs, bicycles, etc. Ski and snowmobile straight from the yard.

Located just 15 miles from downtown Hayward, this retreat offers the best combination of privacy and convenience.

Perfect getaway for couples or families with children. No pets, please. This is a pet free/smoke free home.

Our home includes WiFi and satellite TV. Bed linens are included. But, please bring your own towels.

Modern kitchen equipped with refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, regular 8-10 cup coffee pot, plates, cups, mugs, eating utensils, basic cooking utensils such as spatulas, mixing spoons, etc. Kitchen also includes pots and pans, crock pot, griddle, toaster, and electric hand mixer.

Outdoor fire pit, gas and charcoal grills available for your pleasure.

This cabin has everything you need and more- everything top notch!Pontoon is a big plus- makes it so easy to enjoy this serene lake.Bedrooms so spacious with very comfortable beds! Great AC! Owner very helpful and friendly!! We loved our time here and will be back!!

My family and I were overwhelmed with the beauty of this place. My granddaughter fell in love with how much room and fun. Our trip disappointing at all. The fishing was wonderful, and that meant a lot to my husband and my son. Everyone including myself caught fish. The lake was just the right size, and my granddaughter did get to jump off the pier a couple of times I would recommend this wonderful place to everyone.

Beautiful Cabin and Location

Great location. One of the best stocked homes we have stated at. Close to gas station for fueling our ATV's. Nice little lake, we caught a few fish. The owners we great to work with, very quick response with any question I had for them. We didnt have to trailer to get to any trails. Hayward is a great town to explore.

We are five 81+ year old college friends. This was our 52nd annual outing. The lake home was perfect for our group and closest enough to Hayward to be convenient for our needs and recreation.

Perfect!

We couldn't have asked for a better stay. The private lake was very peaceful, and the setting couldn't be more ideal. The home was beautiful and very comfortable. Being out on the pontoon and seeing the family of loons was great! A couple of us were also lucky enough to see the otters one quiet morning. Kevin and Julie made everything easy, and this is a must stay!

Snowmobiling trip

Long cloudy days by the fireplace.

This year was a crazy year for the weather. But, this house never disappoints. We snuggled in for a 5 day weekend by the fireplace, with a good book, and a couple of movies. The owners of this beautiful home have so much to offer just inside their doors. We will return for many more years to come. Thank you

The perfect 5 C’s

Cannot say enough about the attentiveness that the owners Julie and Kevin gave to us as first time renters of their beautiful home. And then the home itself is so interesting and gave us opportunities for great conversations Around the wildlife and the photos they have displayed. Thankful that Julie and Kevin share their vacation home!

This property is just beautiful! This lake home has everything you want in a VRBO: The kitchen has everything you need to cook wonderful meals. The furnishings and decor are awesome. We loved noticing something new each day. The beds are comfortable and all rooms are spotlessly clean. The outdoor area is so relaxing and beautifully landscaped. We enjoyed boating, fishing, and swimming in the lake. Biking the country roads is easy. You can walk to Lost Land Lake Lodge for dinner. Hayward is a wonderful area to vacation with many lakes, restaurants, a brewery, a few wineries, and a nice downtown area. Thank you Julie and Kevin for sharing your home, and communicating with us so easily and efficiently. We had a GREAT time!

FANTASTIC!

Kevin and Julie have a beautiful home. It was absolutely gorgeous! It was like a page out of a Cabin magazine. We were all in awe of the wildlife mounts. Great job Kevin! The home was spotless, cozy and very quiet! Only heard the sounds of the loon and frogs. We were able to relax and unwind from our busy schedules. Many memories were made. Fishing was fantastic! Catch and release so more guests can enjoy the thrill of pulling in a big one! Kevin and Julie were very helpful and answered all our questions quickly Thanks Kevin and Julie!

Girlfriends Getaway

This is a beautiful house! We loved the view of the lake from the house, the deck facing the lake and wrapping around the side, the patio off the deck, for an early morning cup of coffee and chatting or a glass of wine in the evening watching dark settle and lights across the lake come on. For us, 3 bathrooms is a BIG plus! There's a big screen TV where we watched a few shows. There's a water/ice maker on the refrigerator with delicious water! The island worked well for us to set out breakfast or evening snacks. And there's a big table, with plenty of chairs, for when we played games. Loved that there was a Keurig there for quick, hot cups of coffee and it works with the refillable pods! There was a good supply of dishes, glassware and flatware. There are a lot of mounted animals and fish, if that would bother you. But, most of us have hubby's who are hunters and fisherman, so it didn't bother us at all. We didn't use the boat........we just needed a place to relax and catch up with each other's lives. This fit the bill perfectly!

Peaceful Getaway

We very much enjoyed the rustic spacious home and property. The area is very private and the lake albeit very small is beautiful. Owners are very nice people and were accommodating in every way. The house comes equipped with pretty much everything you need. The kitchen area is very nice and the appliances are top notch. Bedrooms were very clean and comfortable. The grandkids had a great time in the large yard and in the woods surrounding the home.All in all a great trip and we highly recommend this property.

We are Kevin & Julie. We are looking forward to you renting our property. We purchased this beautiful home as place for us to live once we retire. We currently live in Kansas.

Although Kevin is originally from Nebraska, he has always enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, antiquing, etc. He was introduced to Hayward by his wife, Julie. Kevin has wanted a place in Hayward for many years. Julie graduated from Hayward High School, and she still has close family in Hayward. She loves getting away from the city to the pristine North Woods of Wisconsin.

We hope you will enjoy our home and make many happy memories there!
