Acadia National Park is just minutes away from this ocean front cottage. Visit there for hiking, biking and driving the park loop road then return to the quiet peacefulness of Western Bay. There is a great beach for swimming, kayaking or just searching for shells, sea glass or watching the seals swim in the bay.
Groceries are 15 min away in Ellsworth. Shopping is 20 min. away in Bar Harbor and Schoodic Point is an hour up the coast if you want to explore more coast line.

Pleasantly peaceful

Cottage is exactly as described. Peaceful relaxing setting. Great yard for the dogs. I loved sitting out on deck for sunrises.

My wife and i stay here for a couple days as part of our 10 year anniversary trip. It was perfect for us and we loved it. We didnt expect how close it is to the water. Its really incredible.

Magical

Our family of four just LOVED this property. It was our first trip to Maine and we are hooked! This cottage is warm and inviting and simply breathtaking. We had so much fun exploring the beach during low tide and searching for sea shells. We were sad to leave, but cannot wait to come back!

Beautiful, peaceful location near Acadia!

Very nice, clean, neat with spectacular setting on the water with a view. So quiet and calm shile convient to Bat Harbor and Acadia. Highly recommend!

Seaside Cottage

The cottage was perfect for a couple. It's very peaceful and quiet, loved being able to eat breakfast next to the ocean each morning and the drive to Acadia/Bar Harbor is so short. You are good distance away from anything you need and still have the tranquility of nature.

Quiet solitude

September getaway

We loved our stay at Emily and Bob’s place. It is a magical setting and the house is bright, well designed and immaculate. As an upper middle aged couple we appreciate the first floor bedroom with adjacent bath. Our son loved the loft. We also bought our pup! One unique experience was discovering a 24 hour cheesecake store in Ellsworth! We hope to make it back soon!

Great Cottage

My family stayed at the Cottage for a few nights to explore Acadia/Bar Harbor. We are so glad we stayed outside of the downtown area, this quiet getaway is the perfect escape from the busy nearby attractions. It is well equipped and Emily was a wonderful host. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Wonderful getaway

If you’re looking for a place to disconnect and unwind, this is the perfect fit for you. First off, the home is absolutely spotless, with comfy beds and ample space. The location is also ideal, the views are incredible. Our little girl had a great time playing on the beach and looking for sea shells. The home is the perfect home base to explore Acadia, Bar Harbor and other nearby attractions. We also really loved Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf. Emily, the hostess, is very knowledgeable and was so helpful during the planning process.

Peaceful retreat close to Acadia

We had a fantastic stay at this house. The house is beautiful and cozy. Very quiet and peaceful location right on the water. Perfect location approximately 20-30min drive to all of the hiking trails of Acadia. Great to retreat back to our quiet VRBO to escape the crowds. Emily was a fantastic host. Very accommodating and accessible. Our baby and dog loved this spot. We would definitely stay here again!

Clean house with amazing bay views

Our family had a great time at the house. The views were incredible. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch, playing in the lawn, and walking on the shore. There was plenty of space for the entire family. We would love to go back.

Bar Harbor Getaway

This property was perfect for our stop at Bar Harbor! Private and quiet setting with beautiful ocean bay views. Morning coffee and evenings on the deck were just what our group needed. We wished we could have spent more time there. Probably was very clean.

10/10- most Magical place for the BEST time in Maine!

As everyone says, Emily is a Premier Host for a reason! This place was the perfect place for our family (including kids aged 20, 18, and 15 years old). We all felt like Eiderway cottage was so peaceful and perfect that we couldn't wait to return each day after our many adventures that we had planned. We were able to swim in the bay at low tide (must have water shoes), hunt for rocks and shells on the private stone beach, have cookouts on the grill, just sit on that porch and soak in the most spectacular view, and have a relaxing small campfire on the stone beach at low tide. Emily was very helpful and communicative via the messaging inbox to help make our stay perfect, but also made sure that the cottage was so well-stocked and spotlessly-clean, and that the instructions for check-in/check-out were so easy that you didn't have to contact her, if you preferred it that way (but we were lucky to meet her, and she is a true gem!). We hit all the major tourist sites within a 15-20 minute drive. If we didn't live so far away, I could easily name this as our favorite spot to return yearly! I do hope to return again, one day. Thank you, Emily, for being an Amazing host!

Wonderful weekend getaway

This coastal cottage was beautiful and relaxing. The area was quiet, pleasant and peaceful. Very close to Acadia National Park, which we visited along with Cadillac Mountain. Very much recommend this place for your getaway. You won’t regret the views nor the beautiful cottage.

Cute little cottage for family of 4!

We stayed for 2 nights while going to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. My children loved the loft and it had everything we needed for our stay. The view is beautiful. Would definitely stay again!

Bar harbor week

Very clean, cute house on the water. Near enough to town but peaceful and quiet. Beautiful views. Our only slight issue was that I didn’t realize that two of the bedrooms upstairs were actually part of same loft and so privacy was an issue for teen son and daughter. They survived. Had a great week. Owner very accessible. Highly recommend

Love the property!

We stayed at Emily's cottage near Acadia for the Fourth of July week, 2024. It was a great vacation for our family of four! The location is fantastic. Easy access to Bar Harbor, Acadia, and Ellsworth. The property is in excellent shape, very well maintained. We were quite comfortable the entire stay. Our kids especially loved the loft bedrooms! Being right on the water was a treat, especially for the kids. They loved exploring during low tide! The only downside was not having a washer and dryer on the property. We knew this going in and not a major issue at all. I don't where they would even put one. Just be aware if you're planning a long stay, especially with children.

Great Views

Exactly as described. We really enjoyed our stay. Sugar Bakery was so close we went everyday. Easy drive to Acadia. Saw otters and bald eagles at the house.
