Spectacular Lakefront Ranch Estate in Redwoods, 153 Acre Retreat

This beautiful 153-acre, white-fenced, lakefront ranch rests on Lake Earl, the largest freshwater lagoon in California. Woodhaven Lakeside Ranch is comprised of 90 acres wildlife conservation area and 60 acres of pastureland, redwood timberland and streams.
Sandra Bullock stayed here for a month while filming the movie "Bird Box" on the Smith River.

Woodhaven Lakeside Ranch is one of the most beautiful properties in Del Norte county. Every evening on the deck is a sunset like no other, watching the ducks, geese, egrets, blue herons and deer and occasional elk in the front yard, silhouetted by the setting sun. Sit in the hot tub with your favorite drink, your favorite people, and relax, bond and re-center yourself! There are countless trails on the beach and in the redwoods to horseback ride. We are also prepared to host your wedding and reception or family reunion. We have tables, chairs, table service, kegerator, antique decorated barn, lighting etc. we do not book events through this platform. Best to visit us on the web and inquire there.

Entering the home you are greeted with modern, comfortable elegance. The great room has 2 unique focal points. At one end is a two-sided, see-through fireplace with gorgeous 'country rubble' stonework. At the other end is a magnificent piece of art, a 9' X 4' redwood log chainsaw carving of 'The Last Supper'. The master suite is spacious, with a king size Tempurpedic sleigh bed, 52' HD TV, wood and gas stone fireplace, and huge master bath with jetted tub and a large corner marble shower with stone pebble flooring and two shower heads. The sunroom has a beautiful gas fireplace at one end, a wall of windows facing the lake to the west and a 52' HD TV with blue-ray player and HD satellite. All bedrooms have Sealy Posturepedic mattresses and antique sleigh beds. The detached studio has it's own full bath and kitchenette.

Enjoy the beauty and peaceful tranquility of this one-of-a kind lakefront estate. Listen to the sounds of nature, the frogs on the 2 acre pond and the owls at night. Watch the abundant wildlife roam and the sheep and cattle graze. Gather fresh eggs for breakfast from the chicken coop in the barn. Wander through the redwoods and along the creek that runs through the trees. Walk along Kellogg Beach 2 miles down the country road and fly a kite or beachcomb for shells, driftwood and other treasures. Leave in a relaxed state of mind.

Our family loved this place! It’s very conveniently located to many places like the coast, the redwoods, and dining/shopping. It’s very comfortable and roomy. It’s also a very private location that makes you feel relaxed the minute you arrive. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We hope to stay there again in the future.

We embarked on a redwood adventure with my son and niece. The property and home were exactly what we needed—beautiful and relaxing. From the comfort of our home, I was able to work and spend quality time with my family. Our host provided excellent recommendations and even took care of us when a tsunami warning was issued.

Summer Coolness

Great location to start and end each day of our Redwoods and coastline adventures. Weather was fantastic, the majesty of God’s creation was on full display and the comforts of home were at our fingertips. We thoroughly enjoyed the property, plants, trees and flowers. Unfortunately we now have to head back to the summer heat in Texas.

Breathtaking! I was content to stay at the property but we went out did stuff :) The beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept in, the "sun room" over the back of the house was so nice. My husband and I loved curling up and watching Dateline or 20/20 at night :) Oh yeah, and we had fresh eggs :)

Beautiful location with lots of amenities.

My family stayed here and loved it. It's very spacious, with a gorgeous yard and walk down to a pond. There were some mild inconveniences with the front gate having difficulty opening or getting stuck open, but nothing that serious. The hot tub and deck are amazing, and the pantry was stocked with baking and spice essentials.

Perfect location for a getaway! Peaceful and intimate. We stayed from Thursday through Sunday and had an amazing time. This location is a must see to truly appreciate all the amenities.

The Beauty of Del Norte with the comfort of home

We had a fantastic stay here on a family trip. Definitely our favorite vacation rental we have stayed in so far. We are former locals and came to town to visit our friends and be refreshed by the magic of the area. This house has the most conveniences and family necessities available that I have ever seen, like crock pots, coffee machines, plenty of utensils and small appliances, GOOD cookware. We hardly ate out since the kitchen was so well prepared with everything we needed to cook our own meals and this was very important to us on this trip. All the comforts of home were available and not cheap and worn out like many vacation rentals. We will be returning next time!

A Slice of Heaven

A magical property. The perfect place to unplug, contemplate nature and relax. My brother and I (40s) took my two kids (6&8) and our 80 yo mom to visit the redwoods. This is where we stayed and it was a special trip for us all.

Wonderful place for a retreat

I hosted a small women's retreat, and the location was ideal. The house is large and spacious, providing plenty of open living areas that comfortably accommodated our group of 8 adults and 4 youth. Most of our needs were met by the house's amenities, including parking, bedrooms, bathrooms, essential pantry items, cookware, appliances, towels, and blankets. The property is both spacious and absolutely beautiful. We highly recommend this location and plan to book here again in the future.

My kids loved the animals. Maverick the sheep herder dog is so sweet. The master suite is ridiculous. Huge. I agree with other reviews that said the pictures don’t do the place justice. It’s a beautiful base to explore the area.

What a gem!

What a place! We loved our stay here. The grounds are so beautiful. It was so much fun to wander the grounds. We loved meeting Maverick the faithful dog, Fiesta the Donkey, and Bunny the Llama. Becky and Dennis were very helpful and kind. The teenagers loved the hot tub and streaming services. What a wonderful place! We will highly recommend to anyone.

We have lived in the Crescent City area for 40 years, and own All Creatures Animal Hospital & Bird Clinic. We have raised 6 wonderful children here and believe this to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. We lead a very busy life filled with faith, family, work, and community involvement, and understand the need for peace and total relaxation to renew the soul.

Why they chose this property

The Lakefront Ranch is a property we have admired in our daily drive from Fort Dick to Crescent City for 30 years. Our daughter-in-law and her mom would pull into the ranch driveway just to sit and watch the sunsets for many years. The property is a working ranch with a huge barn, remodeled with chandeliers and antiques as a wedding venue, improved pastures, and corrals. We raise sheep and a few head of angus cattle. The chickens in the barn provide daily fresh eggs. The pond is reported to harbor prize cutthroat trout and lots of waterfowl and wildlife. When we purchased the property the house was gutted and at the beginning of a complete remodel. We saw tremendous possibilities, and jumped at the chance. The result is astounding, and will be beyond your expectations; comfortable, elegant and totally relaxing.

What makes this property unique

As you turn off Lower Lake Road onto the alder lined 1/4 mile drive, you will breath a sigh of relaxation. If it's dusk, you will race to get the best sunset view. At other times you drive slowly, and talk to the sheep and cows grazing nearby. Entering the home you are greeted with modern, comfortable elegance. The living room has 2 unique focal points. At one end is a see-through fireplace with gorgeous 'country rubble' stone work. The other end is a 9' X 4' redwood log chain saw carving of 'the Last Supper'. The master suite is spacious, with a 52' HD TV, wood and gas fireplace, and huge master bath with jetted tub and 2 headed marble shower with stone floor. The detached studio has it's own bath and kitchenette.
