Thank you Peter, we’re glad you enjoyed the cottage. And thanks to your crew also. Our housekeeper and I both were amazed at how perfectly you and they left the cottage!
It was a pleasure to host you.

The host was very responsive, though we required very little assistance. When we arrived the cottage was very clean, tidy and nice and warm. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped including a large air fryer. We found the cottage to be very cozy, especially with the gas fireplace. We were going to sit on the deck in the sun but the temperature outside was extremely cold.An added bonus that we discovered is that it is nice and close to Casino Rama, Gravenhurst and Orillia, if you feel the need to seek entertainment or dinner out.We will be book again and let our friends know about it.
This cottage is exactly what you would want a summer cottage holiday in Ontario to be! Very comfortable, homey, and really well-equipped. The whole property is beautiful - we enjoying kayaking and canoeing right off the dock and just sitting watching the boats go by on the river! Jan was great host - very proactive and responsive.
We would highly recommend this property.

Thank you E & S for being wonderful guests and being understanding when Bell Satellite TV and Wifi both went down briefly on the same day!
Property was very clean and in a superb location. Fishing off the dock was perfect - we lost count of the number of fish caught. Air conditioning was definitely a bonus as we had the perfect hot and sunny week. Walking distance of a small LCBO, grocery store and patio restaurant. Will probably book again for next year.

Diane and her familiy were wonderful guests, we're glad they enjoyed the cottage. We would love to have them again, and recommend them to others looking for great guests!
Location was great. Internet was not good. I am self employed and it wasn’t great for that.

I'm delighted you liked our cottage & the fishing. As our our pre-booking info indicates, our only Internet options are cellular or local radio, which may not always be super fast. We're expecting fibre in a year, but for now, it's the trade-off for a peaceful rural setting. We often work from the cottage without issues. If you encountered any problems during your stay, we would have been happy to help if you'd let us know.
Great little cottage! 8 guests can stay easily with out feeling over crowded. Scenary from boating was exceptional.
Jan was great to book with. Details plainly layed out.
Will be returning!

Thanks Nadine. It is always a pleasure to have guests like you! We're looking forward to seeing you again.
My husband, myself and our son who lives in assisted living went for a 4 day 3 night getaway. Our son has just been able to visit since covid. Thus was the perfect getaway to reconnect and relax.
The cottage is well appointed and immaculate. Needs were comfy. The boys caught quite a few fish right off the dock.
Would definitely rent again.

Good
Not bad but it was a very old property and it only has one bathroom downstairs which was hard when you are upstairs. It required everything you need. Overall rating is not bad.

Yes, there is one bathroom on the main floor, next to the main bedroom which has one queen bed. The other two bedrooms are upstairs.
And, yes, although it has been renovated and improved, the cottage was first built over 100 years ago,
My family and I had stayed here last summer and we loved it so much we had to come back. Great place for swimming, boating and fishing. Large dock, back deck and fire pit area to hang out at. The water was nice to cool off in and deep enough to jump off the dock! Very clean and well kept inside. Spacious with everything you need, but still cozy. Thanks again, we’ll be back!
Perfect size cottage with waterfront and boat docking
Very close to Marina, great for docking a boat for the week. I had a great experience being able to go out every day and do some fishing on sparrow lake. Friends came up at the end of the week and we had a fantastic time and tide a blowup island to the dock. Friendly boaters!
Lots of room in the screened porch which was great for keeping bugs away.
Overall our time here was very good. Cottage was comfortable and well equipped. Very clean. Exterior needs some work, ie; the deck and fire pit. Excellent location on the Trent waterway.

About the host
Hosted by Jan
Family owned cottage near our childhood home. We looked after this cottage on behalf of other owners for many years and later bought it.
Why they chose this property
This area is close to amenities, and well serviced, yet has a truly removed-from-it-all feel. Lots of great boating right at the dock. Sparrow Lake is only five minutes down stream. Georgian Bay, Lake Couchiching, and all the other great places on the Trent-Severn are close by. The Torrance Barrens is a 20-minute drive. The cottage is over 100 years old and was originally one of several built along the river by a group of friends who all worked at Simpsons-Sears in downtown Toronto.
What makes this property unique
It's so wonderful to wake up in the morning and sit out on the porch and enjoy breakfast while looking over the river and the birds and wildlife. Later in the day we have a choice to go biking, hiking, or boating right from the cottage.
