We offer you everything to make your dreams come true! Extra clean, safe, private entrance, and contactless check-in, will give you peace of mind! Relax in the sun in your own private pool, which you don't share with anyone, or rest inside in the refreshing A/C and watch Netflix.
Located on the beach, feet away from the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Make your adventures complete with a private boat tour, or use our kayaks to explore!

Located DIRECTLY on one of only safe, sand swimming beaches in Bocas. Only a 5-minute, inexpensive, $1.50- $2.00 per person taxi ride from all the activities of Bocas Town, yet far enough away to have the perfect quiet vacation you are looking for.

The suites are uniquely and exquisitely decorated with handmade furnishings and surrounded by local Panamanian arts. Each suite is an en suite having its own connected private bathroom. Every suite leaves you feeling pampered in a luxurious tropical paradise yet connected to the outside world with wireless internet service. At night kick back and relax with a book from our collection. Or turn on the TV and hit the Netflix button. No need to login into your account. Netflix is on us while you stay with us. The TV is ready for you to binge when you get here.

The full-sized modern kitchen with everything you need to prepare a 5-star meal is available to you. You can choose to cook inside or use the gas BBQ grill on the poolside porch while you play a game of ping pong. If you wish to dine out, a variety of excellent restaurants are nearby. Or relax and have a private chef cater your meal poolside.

Each day will await you with a new adventure. Try caving, biking, kayaking, diving, fishing, or our best in-town boat tours to one of the many islands in the archipelago. Visit the Botanical Gardens, or enjoy our world-class surfing, both of which are only a 5-minute bike ride away.


Options are available for laundry service, catered private meals, and private boat tours for an additional charge. During the COVID Pandemic no cleaning services are offered inside the room. 50% deposit required.

Why the Owner Chose Bocas del Toro: Our family has always loved the tropics. We would travel the Caribbean to escape the cold Wisconsin winters. Stumbling across Bocas Del Toro, Panama, we fell in love with this Archipelago of islands. Crystal clear, calm waters on the inside of the islands make it great for snorkeling, kayaking and water sports. Waves on the outside make it a world class surf spot. The beautiful, warm friendly people enticed us to make this place our home. We found this unique piece of beachfront land with a warm, soft, sand beach in front and palm trees reaching for the sun. Without barely thinking we bought it and constructed own beautiful Villa.

The Unique Benefits at this House: It is peaceful and quiet filled with the sounds of nature. Our 2 separate Villas are the ONLY vacation rentals in all of the main Island Of Isla Colon, located DIRECTLY ON THE BEACH! We are nestled in a tropical garden that is fringed with coconut filled palm trees, and tropical fruits and flowers. The views of the ocean are breathtaking at all times of the year. Star filled nights or a full moon shining across the ocean and lighting the pool for a night swim make this place a unique vacation spot. Each day will await you with a new adventure. Tours to the Zapatilla National park, Dolphins Bay, Red Frog Beach or Bird Island to name only a few. Walk to the nearby Botanical Gardens or bike to the Caves. Explore the ocean in front of the Villa using the house kayaks or surf at some world class surf spots only 5 minutes from your door. Snorkel or dive some of the most beautiful reefs in the Caribbean sea or take a boat trip to the outer waters for some deep sea fishing. Perfect Getaway

Beautiful property with wonderful owners. We didn't do much other than relax while we were there and this was the perfect place for that. Enjoyed riding the bikes around and having our own pool and beach to hang out at. Would definitely recommend this property!

Simply the best place to stay in all of Bocas

Everything about this property is top notch (the home is gorgeous, the grounds are immaculate, the owners are delightful and easy to work with, etc). We had a marvelous time and would gladly return. Btw- kayaks are available/easily accessible and the owners recommendations for boat captain, massage therapist and bike rental were all on point.

Paradise in Panama

We had an amazing six days at Villa Paraiso in Bocas. The location for us was perfect, on a quiet beach but easily accessible to town on the bikes provided. We loved relaxing in our private pool and using the bbq to cook up dinner on the days we were too lazy to go to town. The Cottrell's were wonderful, very friendly and helpful when needed but also left us to enjoy our stay. We really did feel spoilt getting to stay somewhere so amazing and will definitely be back again!

Beautiful Villa with pool and private beach area!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Paraiso! The location was perfect with the pool and beach right outside our door. We stayed for 10 relaxing days. We were just a short taxi ride to Bocas town and a short walk to Scully’s and CIAO pizza. The hosts went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable too! Hope we can visit again sometime. Thanks so much!

Well appointed and very comfortable. The living room and dining room were outside on a covered patio overlooking the pool and ocean. Outstanding getaway spot and launching pad to explore Bocas. The space was very clean and well maintained. The kitchenette is just that, but perfectly functional for light simple cooking. There is also an outdoor gas grill if you are ambitious. Overall it was outstanding and we would definitely stay here again.

Amazing stay in bocas at villa wiona

This is by far the best place to stay in Bocas. The villa is amazing, the beach out front is great for swimming and kayaking, and it’s the best location on the island. The pool was awesome and the place was all ours! You have 5 restaurants within walking distance and town is a quick ride away. We loved renting an atv to ride through the jungle and get into town. The town is very safe and the the villa was so relaxing and beautiful. Angie set up a boat tour for us which was great for snorkeling. Everything was made so simple for us which made it very relaxing. If I make it back to bocas this is definitely the only place I would stay! Wish we could have stayed longer.

Absolutely Perfect!!!

For us this was the best place to stay in Bocas, it was peaceful and quiet! Our private pool was great for cooling off and just a couple of steps down to the beach and ocean! The Villa itself is very comfortable and had all that we needed. Angie and Steve, the owners were amazing and took care of all we needed. The pictures on this site are exactly as it is, beautiful and comfortable. It was a short taxi ride to town, cost from $1.50 to $2.00 depending on where you are going. They also have bikes available to ride to town or the grocery stores. We had an amazing and relaxed two weeks and would certainly recommend this property!

Panama Paradise

Angie, Steve, and Connor are an absolute dream! Villa Paraiso was our home away from home for a week in Bocas del Toro. Using this as our home base, we had a blast on our 4x4 ATV, doing a jungle exploration, seeing monkeys and sloths, and enjoying lunch on our own private secluded beach. While in the area we also enjoyed local sights like the Zapatillas, Starfish Beach and Starfish Island, Dolphin Bay, and ziplining at Red Frog Beach. Angie was a dream to work with. Personal touches included a personalized welcome basket on check-in, coordinating a private chef for our special evening, and visits from the family pets. We barely knew Angie and Steve were upstairs! If you are looking for a reasonably priced getaway in Bocas del Toro, look no further!

Best of Bocas!

My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights here as part of a 2 week trip to Panama. The owners are excellent to work with and have thought of every detail to make your stay perfect, from snacks and cold beverages upon arrival, to movies, books, and even Nail polish remover and a hairdryer! This place is far enough out of town that you feel like you are in a private paradise - complete with your own pool, and beach! We also had an outdoor sitting area and ping pong table! If you want the craziness of Bocas towm, it's only a cab ride away. Bikes and kayaks are provided and we used both. A snorkeling trip with Captain Wes, (their son), provided the best snorkeling of our entire trip! Out only disappointment was that we could not stay longer. I would HIGHLY recommend this place and hope to come back some day!

Villa Paraiso is an excellent small private resort just outside of Bocas Town. It's far enough away from town to be quiet and peaceful day or night and close enough to quickly get into town for supplies or meals. Villa Paraiso is situated on a near private swimmable beach with soft sand. The owners of Villa Paraiso have created a very comfortable place to stay in a rather rough environment. This is a small island very far from any large city. The town is rough around the edges but that is overshadowed by the beautiful surroundings. Bring cash. This is a very small town on a jungle island and not all the vendors take credit cards. On our stay the only ATM in town was out of service for 3 days. We would not hesitate to stay at Villa Paraiso again.

Total relaxation in a stunning setting!

What a great stay! If you want total relaxation in a stunning setting, then Village Paraiso is the place! We visited in March after a lot of travelling in Argentina and Panama and this was the chill out bit of the holiday before returning to England. We couldn't have chosen a better place to relax! Private pool, stunning private beach literally just a step from the gate, and comfortable accommodation - perfect paradise! Loved relaxing in the outside living area and pool watching the bird and animal life in the surrounding jungle. Unfortunately we weren't able to get out on the boat with Wes due to high seas but the beautiful surroundings more than made up for this, and the Cottrells were more than helpful. The villa is a short hop by taxi or bike into Bocas town where you can chill out with a cocktail in a waterside restaurant sampling fantastic fresh seafood. Highly recommended!

Amazing Oasis in Bocas!

Wow! The best accommodation we could ask for while exploring Bocas del Toro! A well appointed studio apartment with additional covered, outside open air living room seating area, dining table and ping pong table. Gardens and grounds are beautiful and constantly maintained. All of the comforts of home (plus beachfront oasis and private use of a beautiful pool!) Angie, Steve and family are perfect hosts - very informative, always a question away while providing the freedom and means (bicycles/kayaks) from Villa Paraiso to experience Bocas town and surrounding areas. We enjoyed biking to town for groceries/restaurants/water taxi to local islands. Also biked to Bluff Beach. Alternatively, taxis were available to town for about $3 USD per person. We used kayaks to view Bocas from the waterside. Were able to enjoy ATV rental within walking distance. Great experience! Went on a boat tour with Wes, who can tailor your day to visit your choice of all of the different attractions in the area. All in all, a great place to stay!

I’m back to my exclusive villa on the ocean:

I have returned to the beautiful Villa Wiona. Stayed for a month this time. So extraordinary! This is a place I just love to wake up to each day; the ocean, birdlife, an exquisite scent of the flora, private walks on the beach, and dips in my private pool. It never disappoints. A wonderful holiday! I included my extended family for one week, they stayed at ‘la casitas’ on the same property (family of four - children 8 and 11). It was a perfect setup. It gave us lots of time together each day, but also gave each of us private time. Special moments: dinners with my family at my large dinning table; ping pong with the kids; watching a synchronized swimming show choreographed and performed by the kids; private snorkeling tours; seeing the kids discover a sloth, multicoloured starfish, and finding a large pod of dolphins. Paradise at its best!

The toughest part about booking a vacation is the expectations for your accommodations. Sometimes its a crapshoot. Well not at Villa Paraiso. Paradise at its best. The location is a quick bike ride or taxi ride from town. Located right on a beautiful sandy beach where you can go searching for shells in the morning or a pleasant swim in the beautiful warm Caribbean waters in the afternoon. We stayed in the private unit just below the owners home (They also have two Casitas also with a pool on property). It was clean, quiet, very well decorated, well maintained and had everything you would need to make for a comfortable stay. The rental comes with the use of two bicycles that we used daily to go into town, run down to Skully's for lunch or just tour the island. The pool was right outside our door and the ocean is just on the other side of the gate. The owners Angie and Steve were wonderful! Very accommodating and available if you needed them, otherwise you would not know they were even there. We would return to Villa Paraiso in a heartbeat! We would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Bocas del Toro.

Paradise in Bocas!

From the moment we arrived it was obvious Villa Parasio was the perfect place for us. The suite in the main house is tastefully decorated, fully equipped and extremely clean and well maintained. The covered veranda, with comfortable furnishings, is the perfect place to relax while enjoying views of the pool, beach and turquoise water beyond. We enjoyed the beautiful and refreshing pool every day and evening! The grounds and gardens are maintained as an exquisite estate and the beautiful beach is literally just steps away. Steve gave us a thorough introduction to the Villa, answered all of our questions and made some great recommendations. Throughout our stay Angie made sure we had everything we needed. Villa Paraiso is a family affair with their three sons (Connor, Wes and Riese) involved in making their guests' stay a memorable one and we enjoyed learning about their Bocas experience. We enjoyed the cooking of Chef Wes for several breakfasts and a wonderful dinner all served on the veranda. They are there if you need them but respect your privacy otherwise. The Villa is in a perfect and very private location. All of the activities and nightlife of Bocas Town are just a short drive away. It serves as a great base to explore Isla Colon and all of the surrounding Islands. Villa Paraiso and the Cottrell family made our trip a great one! We highly recommend!

Villa Paraiso is a great place for relaxation or adventure

Hospitality and a great location - definitely highly recommended. My husband and I travel to somewhere warm every year. Research for this year's trip brought us to Bocas. Upon arrival, we were cheerfully welcomed by one of the Cottrells. The very first thing of note was the ocean breeze, the private pool outside our villa and short walk to the beach (beach is within 10 yards). The owner provided information about the room and amenities and the use of a cell phone to help with calls for taxis and local attractions. We also received a set of pamphlets letting us know about restaurants, local attractions and more. During our entire stay, the owners went out of their way to make sure that, during our week at their villa, we did not lack for anything. Our villa was cozy with a combined bedroom/kitchen area. Storage is plentiful - even for those who tend to over pack. The veranda was about the best we have seen and included cushioned chaise and chairs. Perfect setup for relaxing next to the pool while listening to the sounds of the ocean, just a few feet away. One of our favorite day trips so far was our day with Wes on his boat. While specific tours are available, Wes gave us the flexibility to make our tour our own with a choice of swimming, snorkeling, fishing, etc. To top off the day, we even stopped for a lunch of local fare along the way. You should definitely talk to Wes about your favorite water activities to create your own personal water tour. There's a lot to do in Bocas; more than can be done in just one short week - I would recommend a week or two, or three... We would like to thank the Cottrells for making this a week to remember!

Pleasant Home by the Sea

Villa Paraiso is a lovely spot. I would give it 3.5 stars if possible. The hosts are very congenial. The rental's best features are the huge covered patio area and the private pool. From the patio one can hear the ocean waves, which is very pleasant. It's nice to eat meals on the patio at the big table. The rental has some cooking facilities if you want to prepare your own meals. The grocery stores in town are pretty limited. I'm not sure where people buy meat and seafood. It could be that seafood is available from fishermen. The ocean and beach are not particularly nice here in Bocas. We contracted with Angie's son Wesley to go out on a private boat trip to an idyllic private beach in the Zapatillos. It was nice to leave from the dock outside our room. The all day trip was reasonably priced, and Wes and his first mate were helpful and pleasant--Wes handles the boat very well. The snorkeling was okay, but not spectacular. We ate lunch at an over- the-water restaurant. The food was very good, though a bit high priced for the area. Angie provides bicycles to get around, but we didn't use them because our need to get to Bocas town was usually at night for dinner. That required a cab (pickup trucks that function something like buses), which costs $2 per person one way. Add that $8 for 2 people to your dinner price. There is a resort right down the street that has a restaurant--not great but convenient-- if you don't want to go to to town. We went there expecting no WiFi, but there is some, very slow. We were following the hurricane activity, so it was good to have some access. If you are seeking a peaceful getaway, this may be your spot. We were not wowed by Bocas del Toro, but we were not looking for a setting out point for water adventures, which is what it seems to be about.

A rare find!!! It felt like my own exclusive villa

A rare find!!! I loved it here. I truly felt like Villa Wynona was my own exclusive villa with full-sized pool right on the beach. I never believed I could afford something like this. It was so private and quiet, I stayed for almost 2 weeks. It includes your room and the full outdoor area on the lower level. The vegetation, gardens, birds, and butterflies were beautiful. The chanting of the howler monkeys in the distance and the quiet roll of the ocean peaceful. Under-the-stars dips in the pool before bed each night added to the dreamlike environment. All this, and it’s in a practical and convenient location. I am a woman and traveled on my own. I felt safe at all times. It was easy to get into town I just walked out to the road and flagged a taxi $2 each way – easy/safe/fast, town is just a short distance away. There’s a lot to do on the islands, with many good restaurants. I chose a quiet holiday and spent most of my time at my villa relaxing. The large covered outdoor living area was spacious, comfortable, and cool. The bedroom was also comfortable and had air-conditioning. There was a large smart TV for entertainment if you wanted, I rarely felt the need. I cooked up some great meals. A nice convenience was the delivery service - BocasTakeOut - it has numerous restaurants to order from for delivery to the villa. It was reasonable and easy, I just ordered and paid online, I even ordered wine. Pleasant to have a nice restaurant meal at home overlooking my pool and ocean. I also found out that I could call the ‘Supper Gourmet’ put in a full order and have it delivered. This is a deli and grocery store, that has organic fruit and veg and many items for special diets. I didn’t use the delivery service, I just went there by cab. I also got groceries at Tony’s it’s just a bike ride away and it has everything. Had a private day tour on the boat with Wes – enjoyable – went snorkeling at Cayos Zapatilla – good time. The Cottrell’s were always available and friendly if I needed help or information, but generally I rarely saw them or heard them, thus the private, quiet, feel. Villa Wynona’s large accommodation sleeps just 2 people (queen bed). The Cottrell’s also have ‘Villa Paraiso Las Casitas’ next door that accommodate 6 people. It is completely separate with its own pool. I thought it would be a great option to book both properties for a trip with my extended-family. FYI - I never heard the people staying in the Casitas I'll be back!!!!! bb Ont. Canada

Paradise in Bocas

This property was exactly as posted. Graft location, close enough to town for trips in, but far enough out to be quiet and private. The hosts were very kind and helpful. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants a little more upscale experience in Bocas. It was a delightful location to be at. Angie and Steve were fantastic.

The property was beautiful, but it rains from April to December. There was not a washer or dryer as advertised. It would get done for $5 a load. There was no kayak as advertised. There were 2 Stand up paddle boards but upon asking to use the answer was no. There was a 5 gal drinking water container but it only had 2 1/2 gallons in it. The next one cost $8. We bought our own at the store. Need wheels to get around, we rented a golf cart $585. Elec & Wi-Fi was out for a whole day.

We enjoy the sun, ocean, beach and all the activities that go with it. So, we decided to trade in dreary winters for a life on the beach. We love waking up to the quiet sounds of the jungle, the monkeys, parrots and birds of the tropics and going to sleep to the relaxing sound of the waves lapping on the beach . We also enjoy people from all over the world, and the blend of cultures in the islands makes this a wonderful experience. All these things have shared in bringing our family to Bocas Del Toro, Panama and to make it our home. We are looking forward to sharing the dream with you!

Why they chose this property

Our family has always loved the tropics. We would travel the Caribbean to escape the cold Wisconsin winters. Stumbling across Bocas Del Toro, Panama, we fell in love with this Archipelago of islands. Crystal clear, calm waters on the inside of the islands make it great for snorkeling, kayaking and water sports. Waves on the outside make it a world class surf spot. The beautiful, warm friendly people enticed us to make this place our home. We found this unique piece of beachfront land with a warm, soft, sand beach in front and palm trees reaching for the sun. Without barely thinking we bought it and constructed own beautiful Villa.

This property is the ONLY vacation rental located directly on beach and with your private pool, that you don't share with anyone else! The soft sand bottom, with no ripes or currents makes it a great place to enjoy the Caribbean Sea!
