This wooded lakefront location is in the heart of Southwest Michigan’s Wine Country- it is breathtaking and tucked away; yet, it is directly on the lake for swimming, fishing, boating, Hot tub, and close to nearby wineries, beaches, hiking trails, cycling, deep sea fishing in nearby Lake Michigan, golf courses and tennis courts.

The warm, charming layout of this secluded and private cabin creates the perfect space for movie nights, board games or discussions alongside the wood-burning fireplace. Large windows draw in refreshing, natural light, and there’s plenty of outdoor space for wildlife-watching (not to mention the spectacular outdoor hot tub). When you think “cozy,” imagine yourself curled up with a soft blanket, listening to the crackle of a roaring fire, and nothing but time to be present and enjoy the perfect hygge setup. This ECO Lux house has a custom-built stone fireplace and a beautifully remodeled kitchen where blues and neutrals mirror the surrounding landscape. Two bedrooms, loft, 2 full baths and a family room, and dining area make this a perfect set-up for a family wanting a bit more privacy. Upstairs in the loft there are 2 single beds and a Queen sofa/bed with wood burning fireplace stove.

The House and its Property Site may NOT be used for weddings or unlawful large parties by statute. No Parties. Occupancy and Noise restrictions enforced. Please note pet fee are not included in the quote and will be an additional charge. For added security of our guests, surveillance cameras are in use outdoor for the front and back entrances and record video and audio for security purposes only.

We had a wonderful stay at Nora’s lake house! The place was extremely clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with all the necessities (including kitchen utensils, outdoor items like chairs/coolers/floats, and plenty of blankets and pillows). She even ensured our pup was set with bowls, towels and a treat! We especially loved the hot tub, and well as the close proximity to so many wineries, breweries and pubs. We hope to return!

The property is wonderful! A quiet spot nestled in the trees. We had an amazing time enjoying the lake during the day and having a bonfire at night. The house had plenty of room to spread out. Also it is not too far to have a few day trips to other places. All and all an amazing place to get away!Highly recommend.

Our family of six enjoyed all that Sanctuaire offers. From the cozy beds and relaxing spaces inside, to the dock, boats, hot tub and amazing views outside. The host, Nora, was very helpful and responsive, before, during and after our stay. Pretty much all you need, and more, is provided to make Sanctuaire feel like home, away from home. The thoughtful touches, like soaps, shampoo, extra toilet paper and towels were appreciated. Our dogs did not want to leave, and neither did we. Host even left us a thoughtful note and sparkling cider for our stay. This place is within a mile or more from several great wineries. I loved that there wasn't a shortage of towels, linens or pillows. Host provides free Wifi and coffee too. We look forward to returning to this beautiful house again sometime, for more celebratory moments.

3 nights/4 days flew by so fast

This is a wonderful small lake. All of us could not get over the perfect temperature. Always refreshing never hot, never cold, just perfect. Despite the heat, we sat in the 3 season room a lot too. Our adult children and our friends teenage children are already asking when we can go back. One more thing...this is the best host you could ever hope for. They have provided so many extras to make our stay even more enjoyable.

Beautiful winter views and relaxing environment! This home was great! It was well stocked, clean and very comfortable! The hot tub was very clean and had great views of the frozen lake! The owner Nora was very easy to work with and very accommodating! We even had the opportunity to try our hand at ice fishing, which was a nice surprise! Highly recommend! It was a great spot for a weekend with friends. We loved the hot tub and fireplace. The tucked in location on the lake was perfect. It was easy to get anywhere we wanted to go for the weekend. I can only imagine how great it would be in the summer with full use of the lake!

Renting our vacation home has been a fantastic experience—largely because of all the interesting guests we’ve hosted! How else would we have met famous authors, sommeliers, not to mention the dozens of other families and friends who have made 'Sanctuaire' their home away from home for many years. We bought the property many years ago as a 'retreat' and extensively renovated the house to feel like homes in Aspen, Colorado- yet closer to Chicago.

We’re avid outdoor family of hikers, swimmers, sailors, snowboarders, skiers and kayakers!
Over the many years, our family and friends simply cherish, love and enjoy 'Sanctuaire.' We now offer it to our select guests. It has very positive energy. We are meticulous about its maintenance, appearance, and appeal. We have both legal and business experience representing hotels all over the world. Through our commitment, legal & business experience, Sanctuaire has established a business relationship with our guests that will last a lifetime.
