Perfect for two guests and a dog, this private one-bedroom home sits directly on the Hammond Trail in McKinleyville, CA. Walk or bike to the Mad River and ocean right from the property, with easy drives to beaches and redwood forests.

Enjoy gated, secure parking, fully fenced yards, a comfy queen bed, sleeper sofa, fully equipped kitchen, plus an outdoor sauna and shower.

Guests typically enjoy the garden and sunsets as well as the immediate trail access, cleanliness and peace that the space exudes.

Note: Dog fee is $30 for one and $50 for two. Please tell us upon booking if you are bringing a dog. They are not allowed to be left home alone, inside or outside.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Do the dishes. We will take out the garbage - just make there it’s all in the receptacles. We will gather your linens.
Place TV remote in tray on the end table ($50 charged if it’s missing).
When you leave the property, close/secure the gate.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
If you touch the settings on the gas stove in the living room you will be charged $200. ONLY adjust the temperature on the thermostat on the wall!
Please consider removing your shoes upon entering the house. You'll see how clean the house is and this is a big reason why!
Dogs shall not be left home alone, inside or outside. In BIG yard, please don't let dog pee on plants. In the small yard it's fine.

He loves surfing and I love doing yoga, together we love gardening and exploring the nature in the are where we have lived for a combined total of 60 years - happy to impart any info!

We look forward to hosting those who find their way to our little slice of heaven! We will show you kindness and be considerate of your privacy during your stay.

It's super accessible from the freeway and within close proximity to the redwoods and beach. Plus, it's right on a trail (bike, walk, horse) and has an expansive view including a garden, pasture, and distant ocean view (on clear days)!

Guests tell us that they enjoy the cedar sauna and outdoor shower after a day out exploring. They feel cozy in the living room with the gas stove. People who like to cook will be happy about the appliances and sharp knives. Many people appreciate the garden and generally feel relaxed and rejuvenated from the property.
