Fully Renovated Cabin in Hocking Hills - Hot Tub, Game Room, Wifi, Fireplace
Fully renovated cabin on secluded wooded lot, just minutes away from all major Hocking Hills sights and attractions. Renovation and addition to The Caddis were completed during the summer of 2022 and include all the comforts of modern amenities, while maintaining the aesthetics of this peaceful and arboreal location. Perfect for friends, couples or family getaways. We also welcome well behaved canines!
The Caddis is a unique cabin with renovation aesthetics that combine modern/industrial design with the comfort and warmth of wood, leather and natural earth tones. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the back deck overlooking the pond or take a stroll down one of the private roads in the community. Connect with the outdoors even from indoors thanks to many windows and natural light throughout. Guests can enjoy this comfortable space that includes a fully equipped kitchen, gas fireplace, hot tub, fire pit with Adirondack chairs, gas grill, game room, balcony, and large back deck, to name a few. The basement boasts a bar with a beverage fridge, bourbon barrel sink and drinkware located next to the game room, TV lounge and bedroom suite. The hot tub is located off of the bedroom suite, making the basement an ideal entertaining space or private getaway. The master bedroom and bathroom are located on the first floor. Spiral staircase leads to two second floor bedrooms – one room has a queen bed and the other has a bunk bed with a trundle bed consisting of a full bed and two twin beds. As part of a small cabin community, guests can also enjoy the nearby playground and 7-acre lake for swimming, fishing, and boating (no motors).
The Caddis is a great location for families and groups. An on demand/tankless hot water heater ensures that hot water is always available and many baby/child amenities are provided (high chair, gates, pack 'n play).
Guests have access to the whole cabin with the exception of small storage rooms. As part of a small cabin community, guests can also enjoy the nearby playground and 7-acre lake for swimming, fishing, and boating (no motors) - 7 minute drive from the cabin.
During winter months, when snow and ice are present/forecasted, 4-wheel drive is highly recommended since many of the roads are gravel, hilly, and can take time to be treated, plowed and cleared.
Cell signal is not available in certain areas. The cabin does have a landline phone and wifi calling abilities. For your trip to the cabin, we recommend having a copy of directions in case GPS/cell signal is lost. Once at the cabin and connected to the wifi, you can download maps of attractions, but having a backup map or GPS is always recommended. House Rules: -Absolutely no smoking -No cats -Do not use wood burning stove -No glassware in the hot tub - numerous plastic glasses are available in the bar cabinets -Close and lock windows and doors when leaving -Never leave the fireplace unattended while on -Kids and babies- We want kids to have a great time with their families. Although we worked to make the space kid friendly and enjoyable, always provide adult supervision. Do not let children climb on railings inside or on the deck. Do not let kids get close to the pond. -Pond on Property - There is a pond directly behind The Caddis. At this time, there is no safe access and we request that this pond not be used. The community lake is available for swimming, fishing and boating. -The cleaning fee covers routine cleaning of the cabin after your stay. If there is excessive cleaning needed, additional costs may be requested. -The pet fee covers additional cleaning that is needed. If there is excessive cleaning needed, that is above and beyond routine, additional costs may be requested.

This was a perfect house! We had a family girlWeekend celebrating a bday! It was well stocked with everything we needed and more! There was plenty if room and a lot of activities!
Great place! It was so nicely decorated and very clean. I loved that there was a full bathroom and bedroom on all three floors. We would definitely stay there again!
Beautiful property that was perfect for our family. Beds were incredibly comfortable. Hot tub was amazing. Our teens loved the downstairs and game room
This place was absolutely beautiful! We were welcomed with a sweet card and a binder of great info. The owners made it very easy and welcoming! We have four kids who are all into different things and this was the perfect place to take them for a getaway! The game room was a huge hit!
Cabin was cozy and clean, kitchen was stocked with anything needed to cook. Hot tub was clean and nice. Location is peaceful, quiet and surrounded by forest. Only downside is it's at least a 20 minute drive to find banks, food or groceries. Would have been a 5 star review but the microwave punked out on us and the gas grill had no propane, both minor issues but were important to us because we didn't want to eat out much.
Great spot for an off the grid weekend near hocking hills. house had all the things you would need and was just as advertised in the listing. kids enjoyed the game room and swimming / fishing in the community lake just down the road.
A great place to get together as a family. We love the 3 levels and the outside firepit . The rental provided just the right amount of space for each couple could do their own thing but also roomy enough to be together as a group.
A great place to stay with lots of room.
The beds were super comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need and more to make meals. Our teens enjoyed the game room while we had quiet time upstairs.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us!

Thank you Erin! We are glad you had a great getaway!
We had a great fall family reunion perfect spot for viewing leave change, driving through leaves to favorite hiking spots, and seeing towns. Loved hot tub and fire pit and little touches like leaving popcorn for kids and dog treats. Able to prepare meals for family with well stocked kitchen.
Definitely read instructions provided by hosts about having maps/directions printed because of difficulty getting signal in this region!
Great stay with plenty of everything we needed or wanted right down to a meat thermometer and spices!
Nice touches all over.. extra towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, baby shampoo, Tylenol, Motrin, lotions and more!
We had a great time unplugging! Thank you!
We had an amazing weekend. Listing was exactly as stated. It was perfect for traveling with two other families. We each had our own space with our own bathroom. We traveled with dogs and the yard was perfect. They even had dog bowls for them. The hot tub was great. Kitchen was well stocked and the living room was big enough for all of us to sit comfortably. We would highly recommend. It is a little remote so make sure you follow the directions about having a map incase you lose GPS and four wheel drive especially during inclement weather.
The cabin feels new and is well stocked. It’s on a beautiful wooded lot with a pond. It was comfortable for 9 of us. Everyone enjoyed the game room and sitting on the deck looking at the Fall colors. The hot tub is covered so we were able to use it even though it was raining. Plan your activities before arriving as the cabin is about a minimum of 30 minutes from most activities.
It was a really nice house, we tried to use the grill but it wouldnt light, the grates were all rusted out. We had a fun family road trip . Thank you. Our dogs loved the yard. PS We left 2 bathing suits in the dryer, yikes could you mail them. Thanks for everything
This large, clean property is well stocked with everything you need for a wonderful stay. If you are not familiar with the area it can be a bit of a challenge to find, but it is a very private location with beautiful scenery. We traveled with 4 children, 2 couples and grandparents, and there were plenty of games to occupy the children. One thing you should know is that there is only one bedroom on the main floor. We had two people with mobility issues- one bedroom is downstairs and one bedroom is only accessible by a very narrow spiral staircase, so that was a big challenge for us. We really enjoyed our day trips to the nearby trails and caverns, and the host left plenty of information on activities near the house. It was a great stay!
The cabin was beautiful! Attention to detail was unsurpassed! The place was so rustic and quaint, i got decorating ideas!! Lol
My parents, my sister and her family and my family get together somewhere every year to make sure we spend time together before life "gets away from us". This place was perfect! We hiked every day, used the hot tub, cooked out and hung out in the game room! They had a whole variety of games- the guys loved it! They even had a dartboard!
The owners put together a welcome book which was very helpful in planning our trip. They gave very specific directions to the lake and other locations one might have trouble finding by GPS.
The owners really did think of everything- even little amenities in the bathroom for those important items you forgot to pack. The kitchen was awesome! Anything you could possibly need-was there!
As stated in welcome book, the pond/lake is still covered in duck weed/algae and is definitely not useable. However, an aerator had recently been installed and you could tell that when they get it cleaned up its going to be a lot of fun!!! I cant wait to see how it is transformed over the next few years. I would most definitely recommend this place and will stay here again!
Oh, one other thing... communication with the owners is very easy and fast. I had a few issues using credit card on the VRBO app and Heather was on top of everything! She researched the issue, found a solution and sent me a link where i could update my credit card!
