Blizzard lodge is a log chalet located in The Peaks Village. The Peaks Village is a neighborhood nestled into the mountainside of Mt. Will, just off the Sunday River Road. This property was designed to host family groups of all ages. Up to 3 families can comfortably enjoy a weekend or extended stay. The thoughtful layout of the bedrooms allows families to share rooms or spread out. Three floors of living space. Open concept living dining and kitchen area is expansive enough for everyone to gather for meals, games, and relaxing. Cathedral ceilings offer floor to ceiling windows with views of the trails and fireworks at the mountain plus gas fireplace in the main open living area. The lower level is a great place for the kids to hang out with foos ball, smart TV and the hot tub just outside. Wake up to views of the slopes, jump in the car and you are just 2 miles to the lifts! Return to the house after a few runs for lunch or stay out the whole day and come back to the hot tub and fire place and have a home cooked meal. With five bedrooms and three full baths this home has room for everyone! Very private master suite encompasses on the whole second floor. Two bedrooms on the main level each with queen beds plus two bunkrooms on the lower level. The property sleeps 14-15 comfortably. Many extras have been put into this home. Family room is located on the lower level with your very own ski bar.
The damage waiver fee of $150.00 is a non-refundable payment- which covers accidental damage up to the amount of $1500.00. This fee is processed in the overall costs of the rental at the time of booking. Remember we are in the mountains of Maine and the snow we hope for all year can make travel more difficult. We recommend all or 4 wheel drive in the winter season. The roads and driveway are professionally maintained but guests may find travel difficult without it.
~Cancellation Policy:
If you cancel more than 30 days before arrival: You’ll receive a refund of your deposit, minus a $50 processing fee.
If you cancel within 30 days of arrival: You’ll be refunded for any portion of your stay that is rebooked by another guest.

Great Ski House

Such a great house to hold a big group of friends for a ski weekend. Everyone in our group slept comfortably. Proximity to the mountain is great and you can't beat the views! Would definitely recommend.

Ski weekend

The house was beautiful, clean, incredible view, 1 mile from Sunday River, and had plenty of space. The house was completely stocked with everything we needed. The owners were super helpful and very prompt with communication. We want to come again next winter!

Ski Get-Away

We stayed at this property for 3 days. Two families with young adult children girlfriend/boyfriend. The room was spacious. There was ample room in the front hall for gear to dry out as well. Kitchen was well-equipped with pots, pans, crock pot, etc. for cooking. Ample seating at table. Short drive to ski hill.

Blizzard Lodge perfect!

Very comfortable with room for eight adults. Plenty of room in the open concept living area. Well equipped kitchen. Nice game room down stairs with a great hot tub just outside the door. Fantastic deck overlooking the mountains. but deck furniture/chairs are lacking and should be provided.

Beautiful View

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The view was amazing and the cabin had everything we needed. The only things we weren’t happy with was how hot it was. There were 3 AC window units in the house, two on the main floor and one in the master but none downstairs where most of the beds were. It was 90 degrees down there and 87 on the main floor during the day. Miserable to sleep in. The water pressure wasn’t great either. You could only run one water source at a time because the others would just trickle.

Housekeeping Was Not Done

Poor. When we arrived at the property, after a 4 hour drive, the house was dark so hard to determine if it was the correct one. When we went in, the housekeeping was not done from the previous renters. No beds were made, floors were dirty etc. We contacted the property manager, then left so did not stay. Our issue is not with the property, but the property management company. With the cost of over $2K for a 3 night stay, we would expect at minimum a pre-check in inspection.

A Beautitful trip to Newry !

The Blizzard Lodge provided a beautiful view of the Sunday River mountains and was a really nice house to stay in. I love the cabin chalet atmosphere. It was such a comfortable stay for all of us and had plenty of room for more. I loved the views of the mountains and sitting on the deck to enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature. We entered on a really hot day during July so the house was a bit warm when we entered. We ran the portable acs and this made it more comfortable. There were some cute restaurants located in town, the food at the breweries nearby were good. I loved how peaceful the neighborhood and the town was. We traveled to NH for quite a bit of our trip. Most places are about an hour or hour and a half drive. We did Santa’s Village which wasn’t too far from the house (about an hour), which was great ! My kids and the adults too, loved the fusball table located downstairs and the hot tub was very nice too! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others !

Beautiful with a Few Blemishes

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Blizzard Lodge was a mixed bag; mostly wonderful, but not without a few disappointments.First, the good. The spacious windows overlooking Sunday River were magnificent. The interior of lodge was immaculately clean, as was the water in the hot tub. The lodge had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The rustic furnishings were charming and appealing. We were unable to find hair dryer as described in the listing, but the property manager delivered one to us within 24 hours after emailing inquiring about one. During our midweek visit in May, it was hard to find another soul in any of the other homes on the hillside. Now, the bad. It was hard to find comfortable seating anywhere in the lodge. The interior sofas were tired and in need of replacement. The outdoor seating was surprisingly cheap for what property charges in rent. All the outdoor furniture, including the steps to get into the hot tub, were covered in bird droppings. We needed to wash everything down before we felt comfortable making use of any of it. In the email asking about the hair dryer, we mentioned we were unable to get the fireplace to work, and this question was left unanswered. Some of the dining chairs felt loose from overuse.We would absolutely stay at Blizzard Lodge again, but we would likely bring our own camping chairs to enjoy the views from the deck.

Amazing view

I arrived and it was really hot in the house as it’s summer now. I called the property manager because I Couldn't find AC inside and I was told there wasn’t AC in this house which was upsetting because there we’re going to be 12 of us in the house! The property manager sent someone to get 3 air conditioners for the house. The man came and installed all of them for us within an hour! It was such a kind gesture and this alone made such a huge impact in our stay! I can’t even express our thankfulness for that! Beautiful house! Very clean! Will definitely stay here again

Great apres ski

Very nice location and view. Layout of house very good. Hot tub après ski was choice. Mattresses could use updating. Master shower needs a new set of doors as the track hangers are bent. TV in one of bunk bed rooms got no reception. Overall though, great spot for downhill and Nordic access and proximity.

Memorial Day mini vacation

We had a great time staying at 25 Blizzard. The house was cozy and provided a amazing view of the mountain and sunset in the afternoons! House is beautiful inside and was extremely comfortable for our party of 14. There were a few concerns but were able to reach management with no issues. It was a great holiday weekend getaway and I highly recommend this property.

Got zero response to concerning conditions

The home is as advertised, great location, unparalleled view, proximity to the mountain etc. We legitimately would rent this again but for the issue described below..I can't envision having small children around if the problems were still prevalent. Unfortunately, I got no response from the property manager when I sent the below message immediately after our stay. Zero response to-date. Unfortunate for the future business of this owner and Four Seasons...they've lost mine. Date: Sat, Mar 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM Subject: Re: Property ID: 3877978 Following up on our stay at 25 Blizzard. While we enjoyed the view, location etc., there are a few things that need to be brought to your attention. Upon arrival, we noticed an inordinate amount of fruit flies and ants. Being that it was just my wife and I, we dealt with it during our stay but, they were all over, including a heavy concentration of fruit flies in the 2nd floor master/bath- around the bed when sleeping at night and at all times nearly 20 dead flies on the shower. There was no open food source, they were there upon arrival and it got worse as our stay went on. Most concerning to me is that the owners were there just before us and we weren’t (a) given a heads up, and (b) with their knowledge of the matter- evidenced by poison traps placed throughout the home- given an option to cancel. Another issue is that I developed a rash from bacteria in the hot tub. As instructed we put the cleaner in after use. I don’t know if any other renters have reported a similar problem but, it is unpleasant and born from poor upkeep of the hot tub where bacteria thrives. I now need to go on antibiotics which is not a welcomed outcome after coming home from our one ski vacation. We were initially thinking that we would rent this house for our family next year but these issues are simply unacceptable. We understand that a log cabin in the woods is prone to insects, but this issue is beyond the norm and needs to be addressed. I’m confident that the house is rented regularly and these issues may not persist year-round, but you need to advise future renters given the health risks and sheer unpleasantness of the circumstances. We are more than open to renting from you again, and in other homes in that neighborhood, but we’d need some level of assurance that this won’t happen again.
