With breathtaking Matagorda Bay and Gulf Coast ocean views the activities in this Texas Sportsman's paradise are endless. Explore the 5,735 acre island by beach combing, surfing the gulf coast , fishing the bay and back lakes or bird watching.

Brush up on your WWII history as this area was used as an Army Air Corps Support installation. Several structures are still standing.

Become one with the outdoors and revisit history at the same time.

One of the last open ranges in Texas, This off grid accommodation can be found on the privately owned Matagorda Peninsula Island just 7 miles from the dock in Port O'Conner.

The one bedroom/one bath house has an open concept living/dining/kitchen area with a separated toilet and shower configuration.

A large covered back porch offers awesome sunset views.

The house is only accessible by boat or private plane.
Guest access
Access Matagorda Bay from the back porch. Transportation to access the beach and the back lakes is provided .

Transportation to the island from Port O'Connor is provided for an additional fee upon request at time of booking.
Other things to note
For guests arriving by private plane please note the following:
• Paved Runway available. Runway length is 3000 feet.
• No control tower or hangar available.
