Chinook - Oregon Beach Vacations
Step into Chinook, a beautifully remodeled coastal sanctuary nestled within a peaceful, private cul-de-sac where the scent of sea salt meets the quiet rustle of shore pines. This isn’t just a beach house; it’s a thoughtfully curated retreat designed for total relaxation. Whether you are warming up by the fireplace after a day of exploring, or soaking in the private hot tub, the fresh, modern amenities provide a level of comfort that feels both high end and deeply restorative. The heart of the home features a seamless open-concept layout on the ground floor, where the fully equipped kitchen flows directly into the dining area and a light-filled living room. The living area is outfitted with brand-new, plush furniture that invites you to sink in and stay awhile, complemented by a convenient half-bathroom just around the corner.
Upstairs, the home transitions into a quiet haven for rest. You will find two inviting bedrooms, including a spacious primary suite with a King bed and an adjacent Queen bedroom. And don't miss out on the charming loft area featuring a Double bed, that is attached to the King bedroom, providing a unique and cozy nook to dream of the sea. For convenience, a shared full bathroom is located on the upper level. Chinook is also a welcoming haven for your four-legged companions, gladly hosting up to two dogs under 25lbs so the whole family can enjoy the fresh Oregon air.
While the interior is stunning, the outdoor amenities truly set Chinook apart. The property boasts an expansive, sandy backyard—a rare find that serves as your own coastal playground. It is perfectly sized for children and pups to play in the sand while the adults fire up the gas grill for an alfresco dinner. The crown jewel of the outdoor space is the deluxe, steaming hot tub, strategically placed to offer a front-row seat to the tranquil sounds of the Pacific. Imagine sinking into the swirling, warm waters under a canopy of stars, feeling the coastal chill melt away as the powerful jets massage your muscles. It is the ultimate sanctuary for a morning soak with your coffee or a glass of wine at twilight, surrounded by the peaceful silhouette of the pines.
Location is everything, and here, the Pacific Ocean is your neighbor. A charming wooden boardwalk sits just steps from your front door, leading you directly to the Shoreline. You can spend your mornings watching the iconic dory boats launch into the surf and your afternoons cruising through town on the two provided bicycles. With Cape Kiwanda, Pelican Brewing, and other local favorites just minutes away, Chinook offers the perfect balance of secluded privacy and easy access to the best of the Oregon Coast.
Shred the Coast! Just minutes away, the Pacific City Skatepark offers world-class fun for all ages. Designed by the famous Dreamland crew, this concrete playground features a unique "Dory Boat" bowl—a nod to our local fishing heritage. Pack the skateboards and let the kids burn off some energy with a view of the dunes!

The home was very cozy, it had everything you need and it was very clean. I also loved how close you are to all the shops, pelican and haystack rock, we didn’t have to use our car once while we stayed here.
If you’re looking for a nice quiet getaway, I definitely recommend this home.

Hi Frank! Thank you for your 5-star review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We loved hosting you at cozy Chinook, and hope you will return!
We didn’t realize it was an attached home/duplex but everything was great. I had trouble reaching the manager via phone when I tried a few times but was able to get them to call me by emailing. Home is clean, comfortable, and well stocked.
We had a nice stay in Pacific City and the location of this house was perfect. Easy walk to a few eateries and the beach. The house was comfortable for 3 of us and our pups. Parking was limited since they decided to pop up a ping pong table and the garage has a lot of stuff in it. Also the beach cruisers were inoperable. It would be best to replace them or not have them. All in all our stay was good.

Nice house near the beach.
The house was perfect for our family. We had trouble getting in the first night, absolutely no help from Oregon Rentals as they were closed when we called at 6:30pm on a Saturday. We managed to get ourselves in eventually, but you're on your own.
Good location, very clean, and had what we needed except there were only 6 paper towels and no refills. We didn ’t realize it was a duplex. The outdoor area wasn’t comfortable- very minimal - barely existed. We felt it was over priced.
Spent a week at the Chinook home and it was fabulous. Super clean. All the amenities needed for a week of family time. Easy access to walking trails and the beach which was fabulous for our doggies. Highly recommend. As others have said it is near the main road but that did not affect our stay and if anything made it easier to walk to Stimulus coffee shop each morning.
We rented this house and my two friends each rented their own house. Both of theirs were much bigger to accommodate our three families together so we never socialized as a group at our place. We had some trouble with the WiFi but calling Open Nest solved our problems. We also didn't have a blue recycling bin that we had to request from Open Nest and got. Beds were great. And overall, the location was closer to the road through town than I would have preferred having a dog.
The minute we walked into the townhouse our stay was a positive experience. The place had that “new” smell and was very comfortable. We are not used to a two story dwelling but the stairs didn’t effect our enjoyment of our stay. We loved the beautiful natural surroundings in this community and thought the paths to the beach made easy walking. Also, the home decorations were very attractive and contributed to a comfortable atmosphere.
Pros: love the neighborhood, location was unbeatable and home was beautiful. Cons: for a dog friendly place, it is my opinion that a hose outside should be available to rinse off yourself and your pup after the sandy beach. Also, most of the dishes had to be re-washed, there was cobwebs and dust all over the blinds and some of the fans as well as some dirty walls. Overall, would definitely stay here again, just wishing it was a bit cleaner with necessities to be dog friendly.
From the moment we found the location on VRBO it's been nothing but a wonderful experience. The online booking was fast and easy. The description listed everything we needed to make an informed decision. The house was ready when they said it would be. It was extremely comfortable and relaxing. The only thing we needed but couldn't find was something to crack crab open with. Our kids enjoyed the small backyard and taking walks on the paved paths. We will definitely be returning!
We could not use the Wi-Fi, it did not show on any networks, and the cable reception was intermittent, For all channels.
