About this property
Oceanfront Bungalow With Beach Access On The Oregon Coast
Located in Tierra del Mar, five miles north of Pacific City, our bungalow-style home sits on prime oceanfront property. You’ll enjoy your own private yard and a lovely sandy path to the beach, just 40 feet away.
The beach stretches for miles in either direction allowing for long walks and beachfront activities such as frisbee, flying a kite, beach volleyball, playing catch with your dog, or making sand castles with beach toys supplied! Coming off the beach rinse your feet off in our foot-washing station before coming on our new Trek deck that wraps around three sides of the house.
This completely renovated home includes two bedrooms upstairs, each with a queen size bed. There is also a hide-a-way premium queen size bed downstairs. The bathroom is located downstairs.
You’ll find all the comforts of home with all new kitchen appliances, including a dishwasher. The house also provides a washer and dryer for use after your day on the beach. Decorated with modern furnishings, tile throughout the downstairs and Pergo flooring upstairs keeps daily cleanup manageable when sand is everywhere.
Enjoy spectacular views of the beach from every room in the house with large windows south, west, and north. Both the living room and dining room table have seating for six.
After a day on the beach, the house is supplied with a wall-mounted television with Roku enabled for streaming TV, and a media player. And if you’re not interested in TV, simply grab a deck cards or a game from the storage closet.
Pop the top on a local micro brew from Pelican Brewery located in Pacific City — only five minutes south — or head outside to revel in the unobstructed ocean views. Watch gray whales up and down the coastline while lounging in the hammock that rocks on the deck, protected from the ocean breeze.
At dinner time, fire up the gas BBQ and grill steaks, accompanied with fresh local Dungeness crab, while your guests enjoy the private deck. The kids can play safely in the large yard that surrounds the house while you prepare dinner.
After dinner, the beach is the perfect location for an evening bonfire. A few beach chairs are supplied for your use. Take them down to the beach and gather around the campfire to make S’mores and wonderful new memories.
Whatever you are looking for in a beach vacation, whether it’s strolling hand-in-hand along the beach, flying a kite, fishing or crabbing nearby, catching a nap on the deck, whale watching, or enjoying a fabulous coastal sunset each evening, this beachfront vacation rental has it all. Very welcoming and accommodating host, who took care of minor miscommunication quickly and win above and beyond with the customer service. The location is terrific, and the beach access not to be missed. The home is well appointed and we had a wonderful day. Would love to return in the summer when use of the yard and deck would make it even better.
Great little house on the beach. The size was perfect for our family of four. We love Pacific City and this cozy home. It has everything needed for a great stay including a huge hammock and deck chairs.
Quite a gem. We watched the storms roll in from the comfort of our cozy chairs and the wonderful views of the beach from the living room. Kitchen is well equipped (although the faucet needs attention), washer/dryer work well. We would definitely return for another stay.
Location, location, location. Well stocked kitchen and comfortable, perfectly located with beach access and western facing for sunsets. We will be back
Jeff and Jan Spalding, along with Jeff's sister Sue and her son Riley own the property. They live in Portland, Gresham, and Vancouver, WA respectively.
Why they chose this property
Tierra del Mar holds a special place in our hearts. In the '80s, we would rent a friend's place on Eloise Street and fell in love with the area. When we started having children our friend's place was becoming crowded so we started renting this house. We rented this house, which we have named Breeze for years before Jeff and Jan decided to purchase a place of their own. The only street they wanted to purchase on was Eloise. In 2000, they purchased Sandtime (four houses off the beach).
Low and behold, in 2004 the owners were ready to sell Breeze and approached Jeff first. The timing may not have been the best with already purchasing Sandtime, but it was an opportunity that Jeff and Jan could not turn down.
What makes this property unique
Breeze was completely remodeled in 2015 to capitalize on its beachfront location with large windows facing north, south, and west. In 2017, a new Trek deck was added, increasing the deck's size by 30% and adding a foot-washing station and extra seating.
It's unique because very few houses specialize in accommodating small families, couples, or a small group of friends. Only encompassing 800 sq. ft. you get a lot of value for your buck; beachfront access, yard, wraparound deck, Internet, Roku, and all the amenities you need for your stay.
