I was born in Paris, France and have lived in the US for 45 years. I have always dreamt of having a home away from home in Mexico. My husband and I visited many small coastal towns on the mainland of Mexico but never found just the right home in just the right setting. Then, out of left field, a friend told us about a friend who owned a house in Loreto Bay which was just a 90 minute flight from Los Angeles. We jumped on a plane and rented a a casita in the Founders section of Loreto Bay and a week later we became the proud owners of a vacation home that was a 3-minute stroll to the Sea of Cortez. We baptized it Casa Tranquila because it was such a beautiful and peaceful place to be. We decorated according to our sense of aesthetics, changing all the furniture that was old and heavy to something lighter, more colorful, and yet traditional. In fact, we ended up remodeling the entire house from top to bottom.

Casa Tranquila has the Bohemia floor plan which has much more square footage than the Casa Chicas even though they both have 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. We have a majestic palm tree in the center of our inner courtyard which is a unique and striking feature for Loreto Bay. My husband and I are avid swimmers and so we chose a location that was a two minute walk to the Junior Olympic size swimming pool in one direction and two minutes to the Sea of Cortez in the other.

Once you visit Loreto Bay you will understand the benefits of staying in a location that is perfectly located between the Paseo (which is the Main street) and the Sea of Cortez. Being close to the Paseo is a huge benefit when it comes to carrying groceries from your car to the house. On the Paseo is a wonderful coffee house called La Sirena which is open for breakfast and lunch and has wonderful cappuccinos, smoothies and a myriad of tasty baked goods. Nearby is Loreto Bay's favorite dinner restaurant the Wine Cellar, a local Bodega (small grocery store good for essentials), the Loreto Spa for hair, nails and massages, the Security Office that patrols the property 24/7, and the Community Center that offers classes in yoga, salsa, and many more fun things for children and adults.
