Although the suite is well designed, and aesthetically pleasing, it could really use some repair and maintenance to ensure it's ready for the next guest. Shower seal leaks onto the floor,Several drawers in the kitchen do not open properly,Towel holder, toilet paper holder could be secured tightly,Shower drain clogged, and the fireplace stopped working.Beautiful place, mediocre locale...however the experience doesn't equal the cost. In addition - the French press was extremely moldy. :(

Simple, cozy, beautiful view off the balcony to the bay, quiet peaceful place to stay and recharge.
This is a beautiful modern place in a very private remote area. So peaceful, we would definitely stay here again. We met the owner , so kind and proud . Lots of interesting indigenous art there too . Little bit of a drive to any of the amenities but that was part of the adventure seeing the little towns .
Great communication from the host. Beautiful, clean, and modern, with stunning and relaxing views. Small tip to others, we were in the downstairs suite and you can hear talking an moving around from upstairs. Good to bring earplugs or white noise for sleep.
Nice unit. Beautiful views and quiet location. Had some problems with the TV and electric fireplace. Used the EV charger for our car, but the fee rate wasn’t posted and the resulting charge was excessive for the usage.
We really enjoyed our stay! The home was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The view and location were excellent, making it easy to enjoy the area. The road up was fine in the summer, though we’d be cautious if visiting in snowy conditions. We accidentally left some wine behind — entirely our oversight — and the host was very understanding about it.Overall, the property was excellent, and we had a lovely time. We’d happily stay here again and recommend it to others!
We were very comfortable in the Chief suite. It had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable! We also appreciated being able to bring our dog. Thanks for a great stay and all of the advice regarding restaurants in the area.
Absolutely lovely property. Very refreshing to arrive at a rental property and have it actually look identical to the photos. I will definitely be back!

Beautiful view, peaceful setting, very comfortable (firm) bed, excellent modern kitchen and clean well-maintained bathroom, great amenities. Had everything I needed and more. Decor was a little odd and needs to be updated, but otherwise one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed.

Very clean and modern. Well setup with everything needed (perhaps add a small microwave). Check-in was exceptional.
Small bummer that the television was not working during the visit but otherwise a lovely time! Special thanks to the owners for stopping by to try to help. They were very awesome.
The Salishan Chief Suite was exactly as advertised and exceeded our expectations in many ways. The space was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and well equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The highlight was definitely the breathtaking, unobstructed view of Cowichan Bay. It’s truly something special to wake up to that scenery each morning and a perfect way to end your day.The suite offered a great balance of privacy and convenience, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful getaway. The only minor drawback was some occasional noise from children in the unit above, which was noticeable at times but didn’t significantly detract from our overall experience. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the Cowichan Bay area.
The place was awesome, the host communicated on how to enter in the property and everything worked out. When we came in everything was super organized and ready to use. Plenty of amenities and a great view to the water. The Kitchen is full of items and good to go. The host has very attention to details. We loved our stay.
Stay was fine. Location around the bay from the name village and Duncan. Requires travel through sketchy areas and is remote enough you want to get home before dark.
Our choice for someplace to stay in Duncan could not have been better. Beautiful view, upscale fittings throughout, effortless check in, bath and kitchen both modern and utilitarian. We ate in for breakfast and dinner as we'd treated ourselves to some of the finer dining spots in Vancouver and Victoria and were ready to relax and enjoy some quiet time on our own. The kitchen was perfect for that. Easy driving to many of the Cowichan Valley Wineries (I recommend Alderlea, Cherry Point, and Averill Creek), and there is a wonderful place for groceries, The Farmers Market, which you will pass on your way to the accommodation. We've already decided to come back next year, and I would not bother looking for any other place to stay.

the place is so dirty and disgusting. There are lots of human and animal hair around the place and there is a blood spot on the pillow. this place have clean and safety issues!!!!
This is a remarkably beautiful place. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. The condo was gorgeously appointed with First Nation art and comfortable furniture. Good beds.
Unfortunately it was 35 (95 F), and there was no AC. So that was rough, but probably unusual. If the weather is moderate to cold-it’s the most wonderful vacation home!
EMR Vacation contract seemed a little weird rather than just VRBO agreement. Surprised with monitoring tools - decibel only monitoring, what we believe was a booster or wifi in bedroom, and a device in top corner of bedroom which we assumed was a motion detector? Found the push drawers a little frustrating as didn’t always open or close easily. Overall enjoyed the stay.
