This property is a stunning and relaxing sanctuary. And, oh, the light and the views make for a memorable stay. It's just remote enough to make you feel you've escaped, but within a short drive to everything you need. A special place.
Not very often you book a stay that is exactly as advertised. When we walked in we were instantly hit with how beautiful it was, just like the pictures showed. It was very clean, had lots of kitchen amenities, comfy beds, binoculars, books to read, bird and wildlife watching, and beautiful art. Owners are welcoming. It is situated away from everything, but close enough to stores in case you forgot something. We stayed over Christmas and there was a beautiful lit up wreath in the unit which was very much enjoyed.
Overall impressions were that it was even better than we expected… everything, from the layout to the design to the location was perfect. Would definitely stay here again!
Stunning suite and fabulous views of Cowichan Estuary
Very comfortable and a fabulous place to watch the tide come in, with river otters and abundant wildlife. Gorgeous sunsets and moon rises. There was no freezer (it was a hot week in July--I hadn't noticed that in the listing), and no laundry (which had been in the listing, hence the 4 stars for that), but we managed with the local laundromat and daily trips out for gelato and sorbet. Very helpful service when the first entry code didn't work on arrival, and when the smoke alarm malfunctioned. Overall, 5 stars for an incredibly restful and beautiful suite and setting! We hope to come again!
I cannot say enough about how lovely this stay was. I wish I was still sitting in front of the large windows overlooking the water reading in one of the recliner chairs. Every detail of this place is stunning from the art to the landscaping. Owners made it super easy to check in and were very communicative. We absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend.
Stunning house and beautiful location. You’re overlooking the bay - breathtaking sunsets / sunrises. Sitting on a balcony overlooking the water. Abundance of birds surround the property. Highly recommend this property. Within a ten minute ride of restaurants.
Treehouse is a unique property that is well-maintained and comfortable. Easy access, privacy and a short drive to great restaurants and hiking trails. Everything you need is provided. A journey well worth it.
I would have loved to move in to this cosy, stylish place with the enchanting view. It had beautiful decor, amenities and an excellent location for all of our desired Cowichan activities. Nice quiet, romantic spot. would definitely return!
Beautiful location. Driveway is small, if you have a large vehicle. Windows could use a wash, ceiling was dirty. Seconds of paper-products would be appreciated, we ran out of TP on 1st day and had to buy replacement. The outdoor area is beautiful, wildlife, the ocean and trees were amazing. Very quiet.
Beautiful 2 bedroom place on water. Saw lots of wild life from the balcony - ducks, swans, eagles, and sea otters. Decorated in a mix of Indigenous and Asian art. Beds were extremely comfortable and area is quiet. Would have been nice if we could down to the water and if there was a blow dryer.
The house was immaculate and gorgeous. The view was amazing. The art and furniture exquisite. We ended up having great stay. However, when we arrived it was unbearably hot (95F) and we really needed AC. For the future, in the summer, the house needs AC. It didn’t cool well with western exposure. But, it is the most beautiful, spacious and comfortable place we’ve stayed in Pacific Northwest. (Beds great too.) I’d come back in a heartbeat.

The house is so so beautiful! Loved the art, bird books and details. The view and trees around are stunning.
Wasn’t super clear about the beach access and that would have been nice to have given the location.
Plan your stay around staying in a fair bit since it’s totally worth it and it’s not super close to shops/restaurants - but I wouldn’t say that’s a bad thing.
Check in process was a little confusing with several emails from the renting company asking to download an app and other stuff. On the day it was easy.
Property was very clean with great views. Our only major cons about the property is that the kitchen is quite small and would be difficult to truly cook a family meal with the size of the appliances and sink (There is also no freezer or microwave). The wifi was not the strongest and would cut out at times. Thankfully it would come back relatively quickly, but it would disrupt the TV connection and we were forced to use a hotspot from time to time. Besides that we did have a great stay and would visit again.
My mother and I stayed here with my dogs. It’s rural, filled with nature and you can actually hear the beautiful birds in my morning. The winding narrow road might be challenging to navigate for some but people are very good at yielding. There were great amenities here and the view was stunning. Waking up to herons at low tide was gorgeous. Although it’s rural it’s quick enough to get into town. The space was lovely and the kitchen was just fine. I know others have been opposed to the kitchen but we had no problem. The oven is smaller but not inconvenient and I don’t have a microwave at home so I didn’t miss that at all. Overall I would definitely return and have recommended the place to others. I will say that anyone with mobility issues may struggle with the stairs. The initial down from the cars have no railing which was challenging for my 78 year old mother. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

Good and bad.
Kitchen is poorly furnished but then again I wouldn't call it a 'kitchen'. No freezer, kitchen 'sink' is a bar sink. EMR sends me email that I should contact rep for greet and meet. Explicitely states I need to coordinate meeting. I tried, EMR does not reply to messages but mentions the fines for not meeting on time for meeting that never happened. Having said all that the place is really beautiful.

Rough start
We had a very rough start. Made to stand outside @6:30p.m. at night in the cold for about 10 or 15 min. so employee checked over suite. Rental agreement said it would be ready @4p.m. I changed for bed, pulled back bed sheets to get into bed & there was a disgusting stain on the polyester sheets. Texted our contact who let us in. No answer. Phoned the 24 hour emergency, 3 times no answer. Got dressed & walked down to the owner's suite. They changed sheets only, not pillow cases with crumpled up polyester bed sheets they must have removed from another bed. Couldn't sleep all night wondering about covid sanitation. The staff I finally contacted were wonderful, the next day they changed the polyester sheets with brand new cotton sheets. They were great & helped us settle in, feel comfortable & we started to enjoy our stay. First night should be compensated.
