This mountain side cabin has everything for a couples retreat. 2 bath 2 bed with gas fireplace. Wonderful view from the covered deck swing. Great sunsets with a gas fire pit in the deck. 2 burner gas grill. Obvious owners care for their place. Quiet area yet close enough to restaurant and town . Thanks for sharing your home .
We loved it! It was a nice breath of fresh air. The cabin was so cute! The kids loved the loft. We all enjoyed the front porch. It was a beautiful view! We saw a ton of deer, closer than we ever had before. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.
Our family had a wonderful time at the cabin so quit and peaceful. Just a 30 minute drive from tweetsie railroad which we went to.

Heavenly Stars and Earthy Dust
The log cabin has been here a long time judging by the low property number. A Rhododendron hedge borders the front porch with a lovely view of the nearby mountain and clouds. At night, near the end of the driveway, a half dome of dark sky opens to the southwest. The cabin is full of antiques, a bread bowl made of deer antlers, a lamp with an old electric meter as a base, and quite a bit of dust.
Loved the cabin, cozy comfortable, could use some updates but nothing major. Please have at least first morning coffee too far to drive for coffee after long drive.
We had the most relaxing time. This is our 3rd time stay at the cabin. Mr Wally is so good about answering any questions we have. We will be back again.
We loved staying at the cabin. It was so peaceful and so comfortable. We loved the area, it is so quiet and beautiful. We loved the loft and the fireplace. The owners were extremely nice and very attentive. Checking in and out was easy and we for sure will be back!
We loved our stay at Wally and Cathy's cabin in Fleetwood. The cabin was the perfect size for us and our two small children. As soon as we entered, we felt right at home with all of the cozy, warm furnishings and wood interior. We loved the location -- good proximity to Hawksnest for snow tubing and even better driving distance to other towns like Boone and West Jefferson. We could not have asked for anything more and will definitely be back!
This cabin was perfect. It’s clean, well stocked, in a safe area with just enough neighbors to feels safe without being crowded. The hosts are fantastic, responsive, prepared, and kind. We highly recommend it!
We enjoyed spending Christmas at your cute mountain cabin. The fireplace was a big plus and the bed was very comfortable. Welovrd Wlovef lliked tge location
We came up for the App State vs JMU game and stayed Friday through Monday. We had no trouble finding the cabin (Google maps took us right to it) and getting in. It was nice having 2 separate bathrooms for us and the kids. The kids loved staying in the loft space. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. While we weren't really in the cabin except to sleep, we would definitely recommend this cabin to others. We had a very enjoyable stay!
Beautiful location! The cabin was perfect for us. The check in and out was super easy, and the hosts left lots of helpful information. Easy to find, and property was exactly as described.
There was plenty of room for others, but this snug cabin was perfect for one human and two dogs. Friendly neighbors when encountered on walks and a very peaceful area. Host was very helpful and responsive the couple of times when minor guidance's were needed. Looking forward to a return visit.
The location of the cabin is beautiful. I really wanted to love everything about it. The water well is shared by 3 cabins and we lost water. It was not a huge inconvenience but I could see it being one for others who may stay so I feel obligated to mention it. The owner was very responsive and apologetic and I realize that this is out of his control. It is a rustic cabin and worth the price. Do not expect luxury and you will not be disappointed. Everything was well stocked and available for use.
Quiet, country setting with beautiful mountain views. Gas log fireplace, rain on a tin roof, comfy bed, and a porch swing with morning coffee. GPS took us directly to the address. If you've never been then I would recommend coming during the daylight hours to navigate the well kept, one lane road. Close to West Jefferson, Boone and Blowing Rock. Always great response from host. Enjoyed our stay tremedously!
My dad and I stayed here for a couple of nights and had a great time. The cabin is unique and rustic (how I think a mountain cabin should be), but also clean and well-stocked and well-maintained. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. It’s so quiet and we especially enjoyed sitting on the front porch. Easy drive into Boone and close to plenty of hiking trails. I’d recommend trying to arrive before the sun sets on your first night.
A great place to go for peace and quiet. The area has what most people want but no traffic jams or wait time for dinner. We will be back.

Middle age couple that enjoys the outdoors.
We both work and truly enjoy getting away when we can to relax in the mountains.
Why they chose this property
My wife and I enjoy the mountains and visiting the Boone, Blowing Rock and West Jefferson areas. We had rented a cabin in the area and found that this cabin was for sale. It did not take long for us to make a decision, finalize an agreement and purchase the cabin. We have owned this cabin for 15 years.
We look forward each year to having our family gather for the Thanksgiving Day holiday where we cut our own Christmas tree and take it home. It has become a tradition and one we intend to follow for many years to come. It is a wonderful and relaxing area to visit.
What makes this property unique
Very quite and relaxing. Convenient to Boone, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson and all of the attractions that are in the area. We have added a large floor to ceiling stone fireplace to enjoy quiet evenings around the fire.
