We absolutely loved our stay here. There was plenty of room for our family of four and dog. Our kids had so much fun exploring the house and grounds. The house had everything we needed, including a well-equipped kitchen to cook meals. The property was well-situated for easy day trips to Tweetsie Railroad and Boone. Finally, Marc was a wonderful host—responsive, kind, and communicative.
Marc’s cottage is in a great location: private among the trees but close enough to W Jeff that we could quickly and easily drive into town for lunch, and very close to state parks for hiking/picnics. The cottage furniture was comfortable and there were plenty of places to choose from that make perfect reading nooks. It’s a great place to chill in for days or be home base for adventures. We will be back!

Peaceful, rustic, relaxing cottage
My daughter and I had a perfect vacation staying here. We found the cottage very charming, clean and sunny - just what we were looking for. Easy access to West Jefferson and State Parks.
We lovingly called this the 'Witch's Cabin". Everything was as listed. We had fun trying to figure out the history and original design of the cabin. Marc was great to work with and responded very quickly. If you are looking for quiet, rustic, and charming this is the place.

Quaint and cozy
We enjoyed our stay at this cottage! If you're looking for a mountain cabin that makes you feel like you're all alone, this would be the one! Close enough to West Jefferson for a lovely ride through the mountains to do some shopping and eating at their pubs and restaurants.
If you're looking for an out of the ordinary house with a funky charm, this is the place. Very peaceful surroundings but close enough to Jefferson /West Jefferson and all those areas have to offer. There is actually a great walking/hiking trail about three miles from the house.
Mark spot was phenomenal. We were looking to get away from people and crowds the scenery the rustic of the cabin the location was everything we were looking for the wood stove was a A+ upstairs in the master bathroom we love the view and the area we will definitely be back. It was perfect for our third year anniversary. We’ll book again in the future. Thank you for everything.
We just love this cabin and the location is perfect for us. It was our third stay but certainly will not be our last. Great communication from Marc as always!!!!
The property was nice and secluded. We brought our dogs and they had plenty of room to play around. The house was so corky and cute! We really enjoyed sitting out on the deck at night and star gazing! There was zero light pollution and I even saw a shooting star! We had a blast and definitely recommend this place

Nice Get-Away Location
We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Rushing Stone Cottage. It was quaint and comfortable; just what we needed. The lot was a nice size and in a quiet, lovely location. The owner, Marc, was easy to communicate with re: our stay.
We would recommend it to family and friends.
