About the host

Host profile image
My wife, Abby, and I are empty nesters who share our home with three dogs and a cat. We both work full-time off the mountain while also running several small businesses, and we truly enjoy being involved in our close-knit mountain community. I was born and raised in Cloudcroft, and Abby has proudly called it home for the past 20 years. We love hosting travelers from all over the world and are excited to share our little piece of heaven with our guests.

Why they chose this property

Erich has lived in this neighborhood his entire life, and Abby has called it home for the past 20 years. This property has been in Erich’s family for over 50 years and holds generations of memories. We love this community and are grateful for the opportunity to share our space with guests who want to experience true small-town living. Our cabin is simple, rustic, and clean, and we provide all the essentials you need—whether you’re staying for a night, a weekend, or a full month in beautiful Cloudcroft.

What makes this property unique

We love this cabin for its peaceful location and serene setting. Tucked away on a paved road with easy, year-round access, it feels like a true mountain retreat. One of our favorite things is watching the occasional wildlife “traffic jam” on the street below, sometimes they even stop to snack on the flowers in the yard. The night skies are incredible, with unbeatable stargazing from the private yard. On warm spring or summer evenings, there’s nothing better than grilling a steak and enjoying an ice-cold beverage under the stars. We live right next door and are always mindful of our guests’ privacy, while remaining as available, or hands-off, as you’d like us to be.
