Seclusion/Luxury/Amenities. {Welcome to Malbec}

Nestled in the woods of the St. Croix Valley, Malbec Retreat is the perfect landing spot for groups and families that want to unwind in luxury when they're not exploring the natural beauty of the valley. Create feasts in our chef's kitchen, gather around a custom walnut dinner table. Pick a couple of songs on the jukebox and challenge your buddies to a game of NBA Jam or pool. After a session in the yoga studio relax in both the hot tub and the enormous sauna. Most importantly: gather.

Rural environment. Few neighbors. The home is situated in a ravine and because of the topography the noise from the nearby highway can be heard. It's obviously less prevalent at night and on the weekends.

Rural area, a car will be necessary for most activities outside the house.
No smoking or vaping inside the property. Smoking in the garage is allowed. Please safely dispose of any cigarette butts.
No unauthorized pets are allowed in the property.
No parties or events are allowed without prior approval from the host.

Great location for a ladies weekend in the winter. Plenty to do together and spaces to just relax peacefully. Host very attentive before and during our stay. Highly recommend!

Host was great to work with, very accommodating. Hot tub, sauna, gym area, game room, theater room huge kitchen with long table to seat lots of people. The weather was really cold when we stayed here and some rooms were hard to get toasty warm.Great place!

Joe was a great communicator before and during the stay. The pictures matched the home and parents/kids had a great time in the game room (NBA Jam, Pac Man, and Pool Table). The kitchen had plenty of space to host a team lunch between games on one day. Finally, Joe let us have a late checkout Sunday as our girls made (and won) the tournament championship. Thanks for the 5-star weekend.

We had a reunion with friends and all of our kids. We had a great time. There were plenty of things to keep the kids busy and having fun, with spaces for us to relax after bedtime. It was clean and comfortable, and the host was responsive throughout our stay answering all questions very quickly.

I can’t say enough good things about our stay at Malbec! The house was beautiful inside and out. It has a big yard, new hot tub, and plenty of things to do in the house. The hosts were extremely accommodating and easy to get a hold of. We would love to stay again in the future!

Our stay at Malbec was excellent for our guys weekend. Our host Joe was flexible during booking when I had to change some dates and provided us with all the necessary information about the property ahead of time to have us ready. The check-in was extremely smooth and the property was beautiful. The house had a plethora of amenities to use to make our weekend memorable. We played a lot of N64 in the theater room, played pool and NBA Jam in the game room, Cornhole in the very large yard, and soaked in the hot tube. We had a lot of fun and look forward to hopefully coming back again!

Secluded Weekend Retreat

I had booked this place for a bachelorette party over the weekend. The house was gorgeous, the kitchen was spacious with a large dining table to seat everybody in the party; which was great for gathering to play board games. The place was clean, and the secluded location made our stay peaceful.

Great getaway

My family was looking for a quiet spring getaway and this place was perfect. Kitchen was perfectly stocked, and the entertainment amenities were enjoyed by all. We would highly recommend staying here!

Malbec

Great location, great space for our purpose (celebration of life for my late wife), lots of room for people interaction. On the down side the gym area was dirty and littered with bugs, the hot tub was green and of little interest in the state it was in, the water had a unwelcome odor.All told and with that in mind, we hope to rent the property again perhaps next summer.

Relaxing getaway

This is a wonderful property! The house has everything you could need for a relaxing getaway, and the host went out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as can be. The location feels secluded and yet it is conveniently located for a short commute. We highly recommend this listing!

Weekend getaway!

This house is huge with a great location. Close to Stillwater. We stayed here so we were close to Cedar Lake Arena for dirt biking. Host was very helpful.

Friends Getaway

Overall we enjoyed our stay here! It was a good space to gather and enjoy eachothers company. The bed sizes were a bit smaller than we anticipated but there were still plenty of places to sleep. Make sure to bring your own wood for the sauna and firepit, we had to make a few runs into town for that. But overall good experience and I would stay again.

Great place for the varied ages of the kids! The games were loved by some, the piano was fabulous, the tv game room was great!! Those of us using the kitchen liked the openness and the views of the trees!

Annual golf trip group.

Worked out well as centrally located to golf courses. Located out enough so we didn’t disturb anyone. Didn’t take advantage of some of the amenity's like hot tub & Gym but seemed like a good option. Close enough to Somerset or Hudson to drive into town to check out local area. Only issue was no gas in the outside fire pit so had to exchange out but not a huge deal. Overall a good experience.

We love entertaining almost as much as we love traveling. We knew that we wanted to own a home that would be perfect for creating memories.

What makes this property unique

Malbec has a unique layout. The lowest level has the hot tub, and leads to the sauna and the gym. One level up from that is our AMAZING game room, which is sure to be a favorite of children of all ages. One level up from that is our cozy living room, grand piano, and home theater, and finally one more level up (we're talking three stairs, not thirty) and you're in our chef's kitchen with a custom 10' walnut table that just begs for great meals and conversations that last well into the night. We've never seen a house quite like Malbec and when it came up for sale we knew we wanted to buy it so we could share it.
