Casa Abdo

Casa Abdo situated on the Rancho Santana Resort was the perfect location for bringing in the New Year. Restaurants in the area served a variety of top notch foods. Exploring beaches was an adventure and we even took surf lessons. Sunsets overlooking the infinity pool were spectacular! The host was responsive and very helpful. Would highly recommend. We really enjoyed the stay a Casa ABDO. Nice quiet place to enjoy with your family. It is close to all the areas. You can walk to Playa Rosada. Los perros is close, even playa escondido. Playa Rancho, as always is an excelent place to spend the day. We were well received by Antonio.

Beautiful property and amazing views!

Casa Abdo is a gorgeous home overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the Rancho Santana resort property. We had a wonderful time during our week and enjoyed all the amenities of Rancho Santana: surfing, dining, beach combing, yoga, etc...The home and pool are well taken care of by Josefa and Antonio and Roger was a great person to work with reserving our time for the trip! We can’t recommend this house highly enough.

Casa De Abdo in next level!

I have been coming to Nicaragua for over 10 years and have never stayed in a place as nice as Casa De Abdo. This house is 5 star. There is everything you need right here on property. The staff is amazing and super attentive from check in to check out. The sunset view from the pool is hands down the best around. There are many great surf breaks that are very close by and the Santana club house /pool is great for the whole family. we will definitely be coming back next year.

Spent a week here for spring break and we couldn't be more happy with our decision. Everything was perfect for both a very relaxing and thrilling time. Communication with Roger was always prompt and easy and Antonio and Josefa ran the place like a top. She cooked for our family a number of times and made us feel like royalty. Nicely done! Rancho Santana is a very safe, well planned, and luxurious community. It's a perfect blend of "they can do it for you" or "we'll do it ourselves." Everything you will need are within it's walls.

Perfect Sunsets!

Our stay at Casa Abdowas absolutely fantastic! The view of the ocean was breathtaking, and the sunsets were nothing short of magical. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and, for the most part, well-maintained. We were especially impressed by the housekeeper and the property watcher, who were both incredibly helpful and attentive to our needs. Their professionalism and prompt assistance added an extra layer of ease and enjoyment to our stay.A delightful bonus was the property host’s cat, who quickly became a favorite part of our vacation. Our children absolutely adored cuddling and playing with him, which added a warm and homely touch to the experience.That said, it’s important to note that the location might pose a challenge for some travelers. If you don’t drive or aren’t comfortable navigating rough terrain, getting around could be tricky. The amenities provided by The Rancho, including their convenient shuttle service, are highly recommended to make transportation more manageable.Overall, this house is a gem for anyone looking to unwind, soak in stunning ocean views, and enjoy a peaceful getaway. Just plan your transportation in advance if driving isn’t your strong suit. We’d love to return one day!

Great vacation at the ranch

We enjoyed our at Casa Abdo and will book it on our next visit to the ranch. The view is amazing and the house is a short drive/long walk to the clubhouse area. Playa Rosada is at the bottom of the hill below the house. There are 4 separate air conditioned areas of the house - a kitchen/living area and a master upstairs, and 2 bedrooms downstairs. I was with my wife so we used the upstairs areas and only turned on the bedroom AC at night. Most of our time was spent in the outside covered area. The house has a full kitchen that is stocked with a somewhat random assortment of cookware and utensils. We shopped at a grocery store in Rivas on the drive from Managua so we could eat some meals at the house. There are some smaller markets just outside the ranch property. I recommend a truck or jeep, preferably 4WD, if you choose to rent a car. The ranch is dirt roads and steep hills, and the roads outside the ranch are rough in areas. We felt we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the housekeeper and handyman checked in on us each day. As I said above, we will be back...

Great Place/ Needs upkeep & better communications with Rancho/Workers

Overall our trip was great but with many bumps along the way. Please note that I traveled here with my infant daughter Location: Rancho Santana is amazing period. We loved how kid friendly it was and all the experiences they have to offer. We got to enjoy two days of turtle hatching and got to visit the farm. Beaches are amazing but very rocky so only two swim beaches. Check in: We noticed right away there is something going on with the communication between owners of property and Rancho Santana itself. When we arrived at the gate they did not let us in for about 30min after a 3 hour drive from managua. We finally made it to Rancho Concierge where they told me they did not have keys to the house. I finally got internet and emailed owner. Overall about 1.5 hours of check in time. House: The house itself was clean and it's beautiful with an amazing view. Appliances need updates as the fridge did not really keep things cold and AC in main room did not work (which is where my main issue was with the house). The night we arrived when we were setting up my daughter to sleep we realized the AC in Master Bedroom did not work. We had a temperature gage for my daughter and it said the room was 85 degrees with the AC & Fan on. Its not safe for infant children to sleep at that temp and why it was so important for us to find a place with AC . We reached out to the worker & owner they said they would get someone out there the next day( night 1 without AC). We moved to the downstairs room with my daughter where they did have a working AC. Worker arrived and he said they needed to buy a brand new AC. They said they would try to get it that day, no one showed up with new AC (night 2 without AC) The owner said they had to go all the way to managua to get a new one (day 3 without AC). I explicitly told Antonio and the Owner to NOT have the workers show up on our last day because too many days had passed and at this point we just wanted peace and time with family. (night 4 without AC). Check out: Our check out time was at 11am. The workers to get the AC installed showed up at 7am trying to get into bedroom where my sister was sleeping we said "no", and started working back. My daughter was taking a nap while the workers turned off breakers and cutting into drywall. workers told us a couple was a coming in and they needed to get into the room, so all AM we could not use. loved the beach but we were basically forced to check out at 7am, bad way end our trip.

Gorgeous

We love this house. The open-air layout is ideal for taking in the view and aiding in relaxation. We walked to the eatery at the bottom of the hill as well as the clubhouse. While the hills are a bit steep, we really enjoyed the exercise of our daily walks. The 2 cats mellow out after you settle in and are quite sweet. Antonio and Josefa are also wonderful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Simply amazing

Words won’t do my stay justice. The property was great. Upon arrival, I was blown away by the view. To see the Med from an infinity pool over the mountain side.... wow. A cute towel design with flowers was neatly created on top of my bed. The living space was great but my experience was even more so. The actual location of Rancho Santana is a great resort life without staying in a hotel. You have restaurants, bars, stores, classes, ranches etc. I went sand dune boarding (offered by the resort) and it was a once in a lifetime experience. I say “once in a lifetime” because I was too out of shape but I’m glad I did it lol. We went to see the oldest active volcano which was about 2.5 hours away and I highly recommend doing it. The only mistake I made was doing it in the middle of my trip. Do it on your way out or your way in if you fly into Managua as it’s next to the airport. Everyone in Rancho Santana spoke English, the food was farm to table, the views were fantastic and the people were charming. When you rent this property, be sure to take advice from the hosts. They have great drivers, can tell you where to go and what to do. I plan on renting this place once a year if they continue to rent it. Best of luck on your travels.

Best Vacation Ever!

Looking for an ideal spot to vacation abroad? Your search is over - Casa Abdo and Rancho Santana are amazing! This beautiful home overlooks the Pacific Ocean and gives you a ringside seat to spectacular sunsets. Bedrooms are very comfortable and offer amazing views of the beautiful flora and fauna in the yard. The infinity pool makes you feel like you could keep right on swimming to the horizon. Antonio (the gardener) and Josefa (the housekeeper) will make sure everything you need is available. They aren't simply a gardener and housekeeper - they're family! Five pristine beaches are within easy reach of the house. Make sure when you go to Playa Los Perros you have tacos at La Taqueria ( best tacos around) and if the timing is right you may even get a chance to help release baby sea turtles into the sea! The staff of Rancho Santana could not be nicer or more helpful and help to eliminate stress for guests. All of the food is delicious and organically grown and you can’t go wrong having dinner at any of the restaurants or picking up something to grill from the Tienda. Whether you are planning a family get away or a romantic couples retreat, you will not be disappointed with Casa Abdo and Rancho Santana! Chris Turk and Debbie Phelps

Private with Gorgeous Expansive Views

We arrived at Casa de Abdo and immediately turned around with our jaws agape as we overlooked the Pacific Ocean. Playa Rosada was directly down the hill and we could see the waves lining up and breaking over the reef as the lineup of four surfers scratched to get over the edge and into some tasty left handed barrels. Farther down the beach we could see Playa Santana and in the far distance was Outer Reef Popoyo looming large. We dropped off our stuff and headed into the surf and scored. Upon our return to Casa de Abdo, we realized the house's full potential. We used the BBQ, cooked in the kitchen, jumped in the pool to watch the amazing sunsets every night, and had enough space for four people to sleep in their own beds. Antonio and Josefa, the caretakers, were great resources for local knowledge and took care of anything we needed at the house. The Hue lighting system was easy to figure out and we rastafied the lights, listened to reggae and drank Toñas under the stars. Centrally located in Rancho Santana, we had quick and easy access to all of the private beaches in the area and it was easy to venture outsife of the ranch and meet people. I like the area so much that I'm buying property here just so I can be neighbors. Don't skip on this property. You'll regret it.

Extraordinary View

The home is lovely and overall we enjoyed our stay. The sunset views are stunningly beautiful. The outdoor living space is very comfortable and well-designed. Antonio and Josefa were available every morning and helped us with anything we needed. The owner also helped us coordinate a car rental which was extremely helpful. I do wish we had known that the master bedroom is on a different level from the other 2 bedrooms and all rooms have exterior entrances only. We traveled with 3 children which meant they were on a separate floor and the only way for them to access us, each other, or the bathroom was to go outside. Though the home and rancho seemed extremely safe, I would have preferred to be able to hear them through the night. The kitchen/living room was also its own separate entity, making it difficult to have a shared family location other than the outside patio. We did have issues with ants in the master bathroom/bedroom and kitchen. This is probably typical of the area, especially during the dry season, but are only safe kitchen surfaces were with the refrigerator which made cooking less than ideal. Roger was responsive to our concerns which was appreciated. Mornings and late evenings on the patio were magnificent. And Rancho itself was a fabulous destination.

Excelentes vacaciones!

Casa Abdo es una casa maravillosa. La piscina es grande y limpia. La casa tiene tres amplios cuartos con a/c cada uno. La cocina es super espaciosa y limpia, que dan ganas de pasar cocinando todo el dia. La playa esta cerca, solo tienes que bajar al club de playa rosada que esta a 5 minutos caminando. La atencion de parte de Josefa y Antonio fue excelente. El personal de Rancho Santana super amables. Roger super servicial y listo para resolver cualquier situacion que se presentara durante nuestra estadia. Definitivamente regresaremos a casa de abdo para las proximas vacaciones. Gracias por todo!

Outstanding five weeks at Casa Abdo!!!!

For the first time in our lives we decided to get away from the New England winter for a chunk of time so we went back to Rancho Santana where we have been before and stayed this time for five weeks. We rented Casa Abdo and the house was amazing! The layout was wonderful, The sunsets every night from the outdoor living space in front of the infinity pool were some of the most beautiful sunsets I've seen anywhere in the world. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable and it was great to have AC on the hot nights. The constant breezes kept the house comfortable. I cannot say enough about Josefa and Antonio who were the housekeeper and pool and gardner. They took incredible care of us while we were there and we hope will see when we travel back again. The house and gardens and pool were kept immaculate. Roger who oversees everything had outstanding communication both before we arrived and always during the time we were there. We could get in touch with him very quickly and never needed to wait for a response, thank you Roger very much! We will be back again for sure we love the ranch and Casa Abdo was perfect for our stay. Thank you again so much for all your assistance Roger and your outstanding staff, oh I almost forgot to mention Willy who took care of us in terms of transportation and a truck rental. Again his communication was outstanding and we appreciate greatly the ease of having a truck ready for us at the airport and transporting us to the ranch. All in all a wonderful experience, thank you!

Beautiful house on the hill

Casa de Abdo was absolutely wonderful! The house was perfect for our group (2 couples) with a lot of room to spare. The view was beautiful! The pool was amazing and well maintained by Antonio everyday, we definitely spent a lot of our afternoons in there. The outdoor living area was really nice, so we weren't spending much time indoors and could enjoy Nicaragua's surroundings laying in the hammock. The house had everything we needed and more for our stay and was kept up everyday by Josefa. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed plus more. Roger was always available to answer any questions, etc that we had while we were there and gave excellent advice, pointers, etc. The location in Rancho Santana was perfect, access to Playa Rosada was right down the road and was like our private clubhouse (the tapa style dinner offerings here were excellent!). The small grocery store and main clubhouse were just a few minutes drive. We had dinner, lunch and drinks at the main clubhouse. The food and views were amazing and Playa Santanas and Jiquiliste were right at your fingertips with excellent waves! I would also highly recommend getting a massage at the Santana Spa :) One of the most beautiful beaches: Playa Escondido is also in Rancho Santana just a few minutes drive from Casa de Abdo. Playa Perros and Colorados were also within a few minutes drive from the house within Santana and had perfect surf for the guys too. Casa de Abdo & Rancho Santana will be the only place we will stay now in Nicaragua! Everything was just perfect! A welcome booklet, map, info regarding Rancho Santana would have been a plus but we managed just fine without these :) Can't wait to come back!

We're coming back!

We stayed for 10 days and we'll be back for a week at the end of the year. This was our fourth visit to Rancho Santana and we've rented a house each time. This was our first time renting Casa Abdo and definitely our best experience. Due to flight delays, we didn't arrive until 11:00 at night, almost 12 hours later than expected. Antonio (caretaker) was there waiting to welcome us with a big smile - he ran up and down the stairs with our luggage and made sure we had everything we needed. At the end of a really long day, it was a great way to start our stay. Between Roger, Antonio and Jostefa, we were well taken care of. Casa Abdo feels like a home. It is has all the comforts you could want; its clean and well looked after; the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning in the bedroom worked well; allowing us a great night's sleep. We woke up each morning to a phenomenal view from the master bedroom, and the view of the sunset from the pool each night was impressive. The location was perfect - a ten-minute walk from the Rosada Clubhouse with its beachside pool and shaded lounge chairs. All of Rancho Santana's beaches and facilities are a short, easy drive away. The hammock by the pool and the beautiful and comfortable furniture on the porch made lounging at the house a treat. We can't say enough good about Casa Abdo and we can't wait to come back.

Tremendous base for our family vacation

A great place to get away! Rancho Santana is just far enough and close enough from everything you want to do in Nicaragua. We went to San Juan del Sur, Ometepe island, Leon and Managua from this house. Antonio and Josefa kept the house clean and in perfect condition. The A/C's worked great in all the bedrooms so we slept well. Views from the house are amazing from all the rooms and the courtyard at all hours. The pool is perfect for lounging and having a few drinks. The kitchen and the grill have everything we needed to make spectacular meals. We also loved the two restaurants, down at the beach and at Rancho Santana Hotel. Great food and service! La Tienda on the property has a great selection of groceries so you can shop without ever leaving Rancho Santana. The entire complex is secured so teenagers can roam all of Rancho Santana without worry. The entire area is very secure. We are very happy we chose Casa Abdo and would highly recommend it to anyone. Our vacation was a family of 6 with 4 kids from 17 to 23. Everyone had a blast!
