Great stay!

We had a great time. My husband brought his boat and it was easy to get in the water. We enjoyed the kayaks but couldn't find the paddle board. The water was a bit weedy for small kids but we brought a blow us pool just in case, and it was great. Outdoor area was comfy and the fire pit was great.

We enjoyed the property. Quiet / peaceful.. I was able to get my boat up and down the channel easily from the main lake.. Very well protected back there from summer storms.. Would like to stay again!😉😉

Great family place

This was our annual “Sisters” visit and was the perfect place to meet with my two sisters and some of the nieces and nephews. The great room space of living area, dining area and kitchen meant that we could all gather in one area! Furnishings were north woods and beds and linens were new and comfortable! It was the end of October and very quiet on the lake, perfect for an 8 year old and his mother to kayak and watch a family of otters.

Newly renovated interior, excellent boat access to Nelson Lake

The house is set up perfectly for large groups. Gorgeous kitchen, well stocked with everything we needed. Has a new, log cabin feel with a fantastic firepit, kayaks and pier - big enough for 2 boats. However, we parked another boat on the shore for 3 fishing boats very comfortably. Back yard is huge and private. Rachelle is an amazing communicator and host. 2 min. walk to Revelles and 5 min. walk to Bullhead Bob's. We had a blast. We'll be back next year!

Long Winter Weekend

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this VRBO. The rooms were good size, they had good storage and everything we needed for meal preps and cooking. The house was clean, check in and out was so easy. Provided linens, towels, etc. were plentiful and everyone commented how the mattresses were firm but comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The house is 6-7 minutes from downtown hayward but the lake has plenty of bar/restaurants. It was cold during our stay but in spring/summer/fall those are all walkable. The only "complaint" is the heat was really low when we got there, which I understand. But it took four of us like 10 minutes to figure out how to turn the main heat source on. Once we figured out the remote, the heat kicked on and stayed on the rest of the trip.

It took me another eight years to realize there was so much more to the North than the winter wonderland I loved. That's when I knew I needed my own little slice of heaven to share with you!

The Nelson represents balance to us. The kind of balance you want to find on vacation. A little bit cabin, a little bit cottage, a little bit lake house. Privacy with walking-distance amenities. Plenty to do, at a pace that doesn't overwhelm. A different experience in each of the four seasons. There's time to relax, enjoy family and friends, or make new friends on the lake.

What makes this property unique

To us, The Nelson is like being a kid at summer camp. It's cozy enough that everyone gathers together, but with enough sleeping space to bring grandparents, cousins, or friends along. It's all about being together, embracing the outdoors, and feeling like a kid again!
