Welcome to Maroon Bells!
Maroon Bells is a 3-level log cabin in the historic Valle Crucis community, the heart of the High Country, conveniently situated between Boone and Banner Elk. The living room is a welcoming hub for this home, designed with warm wood details and ample seating around a large, cozy rubble stone gas fireplace. The high, vaulted wood ceilings feature barn-like beams and intricate artisan details. This accommodating cabin is a sweet retreat, nestled into the mountainside and overlooking the layered views and valley below.
The kitchen is well equipped with stainless appliances and enjoys a lovely mountain view from the kitchen sink. There is seating for 8 at the live-edge wood dining table, with an additional picnic table outside on the covered porch. The hot tub is conveniently located on the deck outside the main living area, with Adirondack chairs and a gas grill. There are two king bedrooms and one queen bedroom, all with ensuite bathrooms, one on each of the three levels of the home, providing room for guests to spread out. The upper-level loft sofa also converts to a queen-size sleeper sofa for additional guests. There are checkers, chess, and backgammon games available for friendly competition.
The cabin is on 10 wooded acres on a privately maintained gravel road, approximately 1/4 mile from a paved road. Plenty of parking is available for three vehicles, and an electric car charger is provided for the convenience of our guests. **4WD or AWD and tire chains are necessary during adverse weather in the winter months**. The home has a whole-house generator for comfort and security during power outages. Maroon Bells welcomes 2 dogs under 35 pounds with your reservation for an additional pet fee.
This home is just a few short miles/minutes from the historic Mast General store and the Valle Crucis Community Park. The park features multiple playgrounds, basketball courts, soccer fields, walking trails, and access to the Watauga River, offering opportunities for fishing, swimming, and floating.
Other nearby attractions include:
