Choose A Reel Keeper for your next trip to the Outer Banks. This home has a nice layout for families, with 3 levels and rooms on each level. All bedrooms with en suite bathroom. This beachside gem, in Beacon Villas, is part of the private Corolla Light Resort, providing access to premier amenities. Enjoy a day at the beach, or at the oceanside, sound side and indoor pools. Take advantage of the private walking and biking paths and fitness center with lots of recreational and sporting activities. Pool schedules: the training pool at the oceanfront will open 10 – 5 on May 16, 2026 & the other two oceanfront pools and the soundside pool will open May 23, 2026. Corolla Light Amenities included in your stay if stay is Feb/March/April/May.
Amenities within Corolla Light Resort are an optional, extra $250, which provides 12 wristbands for the week during June/July/August.
About the house:
A Reel Keeper has 4 bedrooms all with their own private bathroom and an open main level, great for friendly gatherings. We provide everything you need to feel like you are at your home away from home! You will have a stocked kitchen, outdoor and indoor games, grill, fire pit seating area, private hot tub, and game room with wet bar.
Carport has 4 spots for cars, one spot occupies a ping pong table that can be folded up, but prefer to keep in place. There are 6 guest spots available nearby, <100 feet away.

*Weekly stays are Friday to Friday. We promise you that this will enable you to avoid OBX traffic and enhance your OBX experience.*

*Linens (bed linens not towels) are provided with your stay, one less thing to pack :) If you would also like to order bath towels and beach towels, at an extra fee, please contact Jessica and she will place your order so they are at the home when you arrive for your vacation!*

About the resort:

https://www.corollalightresort.com/ While staying within the 240 acre Corolla Light Resort, you can park your vehicle in the carport and leave it there for your entire stay!
During the summer (Memorial Day- Labor Day), a community trolley runs throughout the day. Take a quick trolley ride over to the oceanfront complex, where your family can spend the entire day with three outdoor pools, easy access to the beach, two playgrounds, shuffleboard, basketball, volleyball, tennis and pickle ball courts, as well as, food and beverages from the Oceanfront Grille. Head over to the soundside complex for a workout in the fitness center, swim in the Olympic sized indoor pool or a walk through the nature trails along the sound. Refer to website for details!

Absolutely perfect home for a beach trip! Our family loved all of the amenities and activities available at the home. We enjoyed ping pong, card games, biking to the beach and of course the hot tub! We have young adult children and were never bored! Home is spacious, comfortable and well equipped.

Great spring break

This was our first time in Outer Banks and we had a wonderful time. The house was situated in a great location. Facilities were nice. Close by to beach. They offered lots of amenities at the house. We loved the hot tub. Overall it was a great time.

Amazing place to stay!

This place had everything we needed and was amazingly clean! The house was located near shops and historical activities. The beach was a short walk away as well. I will definitely be booking with this host again!

What a wonderful getaway!

Reel Keeper is spot-on!

Excellent property with outstanding amenities - especially for teenage kids (or grandkids in our case). Very well equipped, lots of games and distractions like bikes, ping-pong, hot-tub, cornhole, video game table, X-Box and much more. Walkable to beach, sound and main rec center. Jess was easy to work with. Highly recommend.

It's about the little things

We had a great time here. The host is very communicative and the house is updated, clean, plenty of space for everyone, and has plenty of amenities - games, activities for toddlers, outdoor equipment. The kitchen is VERY well stocked, had everything we needed for a full Thanksgiving dinner. There were a lot of little things that made our stay easy - like the host not leaving us with single ply toilet paper, stocking plenty of kitchen utensils and appliances, and giving us plenty of info ahead of time. We'd love to stay again!

The perfect place for our first time in the OBX!!

The Reel Keeper was the perfect place for our first time in the OBX!! The house was immaculate and had absolutely everything we needed! From things we needed in the house to things for the beach…we had it all! Jessica was a dream host and communication was perfect! The bedrooms, kitchen, shared spaces, hot tub space, and outdoor patio blew my mind when we walked through! If you’re looking for an amazing place, close to the beach, close to all the activities in Corolla…then this is your place! Thank you for creating a beautiful place to make special memories!

Spacious, yet Cozy

We had a wonderful time in this spacious and well-stocked townhouse. The multiple floors and various living spaces were perfect for our family of 5 plus grandparents. The location is excellent for exploring all that Corolla has to offer and the hosts have supplied closets full of games, beach toys, etc. to add to the fun. Jessica communicated clearly throughout the process and even graciously let us know we could check out a bit later on our final day. Overall, we had a great experience and highly recommend!

Awesome Stay

This place exceeded our expectations. We went to Corolla for a long weekend with three other couples. Immediately upon walking in everyone loved the house and felt completely at home. We enjoyed sitting around the firepit, were able to have a beach picnic, and our sunset happy hour on the sound pier was awesome. We were able to soothe our competeive sides playing multiple board games provided at the house and discovered horeshoes, bocce ball, and shuffleboard at the oceanside pool complex. We will definitely come back!

Amazing holiday vacation!

5++ stars for Reel Keeper! We can only say non-stop great things about this beautiful vacation home from the variety of activities they offer (ping pong, bikes, darts, fishing poles, fire pit, hot tub, board games) to the best stocked kitchen we have seen! House is so clean, spacious, and welcoming. Loved the short walk to the beach, sound side, and the Whalehead Club. Jessica is absolutely the BEST host and loved all the great communication. Spring Break 2023

We had an excellent stay for 5 days over Spring Break. 2 adults & 6 teenagers with plenty of room to stay & socialize (2 family rooms). The hot tub was terrific as the ocean was too chilly (and u fortunately Corolla Resort chose now to close indoor pool for maintenance). The home had everything you need: air fryer, pots & pans, baking trays, and even Tupperware. Even soap & paper products… been coming to OBX for 40+ years and never had a house so well appointed. We enjoyed our stay! Thank you.

Great New Year at OBX!

We stayed at A Reel Keeper to get together with family and friends for New Years. The home had the perfect amount of space for us to share our time together yet still enough room for everyone to have their own space. Though it was the off season, we were able to check out the pools, play some tennis, shuffleboard and several of the other Corolla Light amenities. We can just imagine how wonderful it will all be in the summer time, and are already planning on when we can return to A Reel Keeper. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Great House, Better Location

We had a combined family vacation stay at A Reel Keeper for Christmas and the place was perfect for what we needed. The house is updated, clean, and has a fully stocked kitchen for cooking. There are also plenty of games/activities in the house if you have a couple rainy days (like we did). The location was the best part, being right in the center of the Corolla Light Resort with a short walk to either the beach or the Sound for the sunset. The resort kept us and the kids busy with plenty of activities, including a scavenger hunt, basketball shooting contest, and a 5k run through the resort. The owner was also very responsive and had lots of suggestions on how to spend our trip. Our family would highly recommend this property and we look forward to staying here again!

Great place to enjoy obx

Everything was clean and modern and very well stocked. Location is good, we were lazy and drove to the free public parking to get even closer to the beach but you can walk to beach in about 10 mins w/o doing that. Family enjoyed the community pools and some activities like making tie dye tshirts. Walk to get ice cream. Ping pong and Galaga were big hits and relaxing in the hot tub. Place was very clean and host was quick to respond in a friendly way whenever we asked about anything. Nice walk-in showers in main baths also gave a modern look and feel to it. We had 2 families w teens and had plenty of space and even used the nearby overflow parking one day for visitors as we had 5 vehicles that day. Would definitely return.

Had the best time at A Reel Keeper

We just returned from a wonderful week’s stay! A Reel Keeper has just about everything we could need or want. Kitchen is fully stocked, we just stopped at Food Lion which was close by and got food and drink. Game closet is filled with current games as well as a “vintage “ 1-2 player PAC Man arcade game which was very cool. Outside there is an outdoor shower, a place to hang wet towels and clothes. A fully equipped ping pong table and dart board. Shed held everything we needed to take to the beach. There is even a trolley that took us to the beach and dropped us off at our door on the return trip back. Our grandkids lived the beach and pools. We felt there was just enough retail for the area without it being overly crowded or commercialized. Very peaceful and relaxing place! Our host, Jessica, was exceptional to work with. She answered all our questions before and during our stay. She even kept us up to date on the weeks current activities at the sports center. Sad we had to leave but highly recommend for anyone wanting a great place to stay!

Best place for OBX family experience!

The Reel Keeper was a perfect fit for our 1st extended family beach vacation, (grand parents, daughter, son and their families of 4 each - 10 in all). The entire house was super clean and well appointed with 4 en suite bedrooms, all kitchen items one could possibly need, big screen TV’s, laundry, games, alarm clocks with built-in phone chargers, etc. We made use of the linen + towels package, making for lighter packing. The centralized location was fantastic! There was a short walk to the beach, utilizing many of the accessories from the fully stocked outdoor closet - chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, wagon, etc. The guys were especially ecstatic to find a supply of fishing rods + tackle to use at the Corolla Light private stocked ponds (no license required), not to mention the outdoor under cover ping pong table. The sound was even closer with sunset walks/scooter rides along the edge, making for a wonderfully relaxing way to end the day. We also took advantage of the soothing hot tub on multiple evenings. The amenities of Corolla Light were an extra bonus. Having a pool, restrooms and restaurant right off of the beach, as well as another pool located on the sound were simply icing on the cake. The kids especially loved the trolley! The trolley stop is a minute walk from the house and made getting around even easier, let alone a treat for the kids to simply take a ride. Jessica was amazing!! You won’t find a host that is more caring, responsive or accommodating than Jessica!

Amazing stay, truly a home away from home!

My family and I had an amazing stay at A Reel Keeper. Truly our home away from home. The house had everything you could possibly need. Don’t feel like eating out every night? Well that’s no problem as the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need to prepare a home cooked meal. Bored on a rainy day? Again, no problem as there were a variety of things to keep everybody entertained such as board games, game consoles and yard games. A Reel Keeper is a beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean, fully furnished and equipped duplex located within the Corolla Light Resort, which was perfect for my family. This lovely property will suit the needs of any family or business traveler, Jess really thought of everything! There were many amenities that we did not take advantage of such as the bikes, the hot tub and ping pong table. The house is conveniently located and the beach, sports complex, pool and restaurants are just a short drive/shuttle ride away. On a side note, there is no need to bring your own beach accessories. Jess generously provides beach chairs, toys and even a wagon! Timbuk II is also nearby for additional shopping and dining options. Lastly, your hostess Jess is the epitome of hostesses. From the time I first inquired about the rental property, to throughout our stay and to the end of our trip she has been such a pleasure to communicate with. She is easily available through the VRBO app. Look no further, this is the place you want to book.

I am very easy to get a hold of and communicate with, which will easy your booking process and rental experience overall. My Dad and I bought this home together to be able to make memories of our own and share it with you to make your own memories. We really enjoy sharing our home with you and making sure that your vacation/stay/experience is the absolute best.

Why they chose this property

Prior to this beach house, we owned and managed a lake front home on Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia. We are proud to say that we had 146- five star ratings, many of which mentioned the ease of communication and responsiveness that enabled a stress-free booking process. Most importantly, guests felt that "the owners have thought of everything". Everyone felt like they were at home and that we, as the owners, provided most everything they needed for their stay. This is our mission with this beachside home as well. We hope that you choose to stay at A Reel Keeper and feel like you are at your home away from home.

What makes this property unique

This home is not only walking distance (less than a 5 minute walk (without toddlers-haha)) to both the beach and the sound. It is located within the award-winning Corolla Light Resort, offering numerous amounts of amenities. The amenities offered are not like any other within Corolla. This is one of the reasons that we chose this villa for our next vacation home. As a family, we like to have fun, find adventures, and relax a little, and this beachside villa has it all!
