Enjoy a peaceful, secluded retreat while still being just one mile from the South Shore train station—providing easy access to downtown Chicago and the National Park Campground. With spacious indoor and outdoor living areas, it’s the perfect place to gather with family and friends, relax in nature, or explore the Indiana lakeshore and nearby attractions.

Pets are welcome to join your stay for an additional fee, so the whole family can enjoy this getaway together.

Nice property to spend a couple days with family at! Very equipped with all you may need, including shampoo, body wash, lotion, etc. Extra items in kitchen, seasoning, oils, etc also. Bring extra bug spray, mosquitos bad in the entire area this time of year. Free beach is close by with limited parking, so we didn't pay to go into the Dunes State Park.Thanks again.

Great place for a family or two to spend the weekend close to the Indiana Dunes. Less than a 10 minute drive to the beach. Very big living room and nice kitchen.

We had a great experience staying in George's house. The location next to the Indiana Dunes National Park was great for hiking and viewing sunsets across the lake, and the property was large and comfortable. A really nice outside area, and an upscale interior was great for my wife, our two dogs and me. We were particularly impressed with how well stocked the house was. Every possible thing we could need was there. And, George was very responsive returning messages within minutes. It was a great experience and a great place to stay!

The house is very secluded and sets off by itself, offering much privacy. Super Spacious living and dining area, much room to spread out and be comfortable. We spent most time out enjoying the close proximity of the park, lake, beaches and did not do anything in the yard of the house. Plenty of room, all essentials needed are supplied and all was good. Only negative was the welcoming party of mosquitos that bombarded us upon arrival. Definitely will consider a return to here and give high marks on the attention to detail that has been put into this home .

Close to beaches and nestled in the parks

Overall good stay. Recommend host get duvets for the duvet covers, was an odd bedding choice to have just the duvet covers as blankets. Also recommend a dehumidifier for the basement. Well stocked kitchen and more beds than expected!

The house was in a great location with a wonderful outdoor area that was quiet and private. House was well stocked and very clean and they provided a lot of extras like bottled water and toiletries. Check in was super easy and communication was prompt. The area itself was wonderful and within a mile of a great beach on Lake Michigan and hiking.Had a little issue with being charged an unknown pet fee on our last day, but more of a miscommunication and did not detract from a great stay.

Great Central location for Birding Festival

Stayed here for four nights for the Indiana Dunes Birding Festival. Property is just 10 minutes away from festival headquarters at IN Dunes Welcome Center and close to most of the other birding sites we visited. The large living and kitchen area (that looks newly remodeled) was nice for unwinding after a long day of birding. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, plates, coffee maker, etc. Staying here was better for us than a hotel because of food restrictions for one of our family members - could bring and fix our own food. Thanks to our host!

Great location in the National Park

There was more than enough room inside and outside for our family of five. The place is all newly renovated and the beds are very comfortable. The house is located about a mile from the beach and we never had a issue getting parking right by the beach. We loved the area. We went to a lot of different places within the National Park and nothing was farther than 15-20 minutes away. We also took the train to see a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. I loved being able to quickly drive down to the lake and catch a spectacular sunset! I also enjoyed running from the house and along Lake Michigan.

Loved this location, close to the parks yet room enough for our dogs to run and not worry about traffic and neighbors. The top floor was very clean and recently redecorated. The kitchen was well-stocked, including bottled water. The tap water is discolored and smelled sulphuric, so the bottled water was much appreciated. We enjoyed the screened sunroom and watching the blue jays. The basement smelled musty, but we didn’t need or use that area so it didn’t matter to us. A couple of the bath towels were mildewed but there were others that were fine. My husband found the queen bed to be too hard for him, but it didn’t bother me… the owner provided shampoo, conditioner and body wash which were great. However, the one-ply toilet paper was disappointing. Beautiful area to explore and loved the dunes!

House was nice. Oven set off the smoke detector. Needed more seating in the living room. Man door to the garage would not lock so no one used the downstairs bedroom. Can’t use the Kurig machine. No easy beach access.

Nice wooded trails and sandy beaches nearby…Our 2 retrievers loved it!

The house was very spacious. There are steps leading to the front door. The living room was very large. We enjoyed the ambience of the electric fireplace. The kitchen was well stocked. The water was well water and it had a slight smell. The host provided a case (24) of bottled water, plus 2 gallons bottles. The lower level was a nice retreat! It had 2 twin beds and pull out sofa. The TV and sectional seating in the family gathering space were a nice bonus!! The neighborhood looked a bit run down, but the neighbors seemed friendly and quiet. We stayed an extra night because the house fit our needs and we loved walking on the trails

This is a great family lake house - nicely updated upstairs, basic lake house basement - one bedroom is in the basement and the stairs are very steep/narrow so less agile folks should not plan to stay down there but fine for kids. Everything was as clean as could be expected for a lake house. Host was readily available for communication and responded appropriately to some minor issues. The house was well stocked and made it easy to stay here with kids. The large living room could easily accommodate more beds/air mattresses. Lots of windows. AC worked well. There were plenty of towels and extra sheets, Mattresses were better than expected for this price range and all looked pretty new. Pillows are very basic but as expected for this price range. We went to the beach every day which is a very short drive. Mosquitos are plentiful - the owner had bug spray for us though which was a nice touch. Super nice firepit outside and large grassy area in the yard!
