This simple, affordable, cottage in the woods near Lake Michigan has a lot to offer with a newly remodeled three quarter bath.
Imagine spending the day at the association's private beach relaxing, and then return home to grill hamburgers on the private deck. After dinner, you return to the beach to enjoy the beautiful sunset before heading back to roast marshmallows in the patio fire pit.

The cottage is located only ten minutes away from Michigan City and the many area attractions it has to offer. If you enjoy shopping The Lighthouse Place outlet mall is perfect for you. Kids of all ages will enjoy the Washington Park Zoo or the Hot Rod Museum. Throughout the summer, there are many local berry patches that you can pick your own berries from as well.

It was a great home base for a fun filled weekend at the Indiana Dunes. We enjoyed the upper deck for dinners and relaxing. The best part was the golf cart that we took to the private beach, perfect for watching the sun set.

Great location near the beach

We stayed here two years ago and had a great time, so we came back. This is a nice location on a wooded lot within walking distance to the beach. The house is clean and has plenty of room for our family of four.

Had a wonderful stay at this beach cottage. The peaceful wooded setting was ideal for sitting on the deck reading and watching the deer. The beach is so close and easy to get to. Rachel is a great host and very communicative. Would for sure stay again.

Why they chose this property

This is a family cottage that my husband built when my boys were little. When they were growing up we spent a lot of our summers here, and now that they are both grown they enjoy bringing their families on vacation here. Our family is renting this property now because we have decided to share our favorite vacation spot with others. We chose this location because of its proximity to the city of Chicago and the many area attractions.

What makes this property unique

The thing we like most about this property is that there is always something to do for all ages. On beautiful sunny days, we enjoy the beach, while on rainy or gloomy days we enjoy the shopping, museums, and local theaters. Our cottage is located only a short drive from the train station that goes to Chicago, so a day trip is easy to do.
