About this property

Let your worries go out of town in the mountains of CO! Enjoy the cozy Mountain Bungalow at an elev. of 8,500 ft! Soak up the beautiful, quiet mountain views and sunsets by the the propane fireplace or our koi pond. Finally, about ~20 min. away from town!

**MUST have AWD/4x4 with snow rated tires for winter (Nov.-March). **no smoking**. Guests will have the whole downstairs (lower level/basement) of the house to themselves for their stay. We do live above (upper level) of the house. We also have a Pyrenees mix dog (Jackson) that loves to great people. He is an old man that lounges on the porch as he watches the property.

It offers one master bedroom, a large living room (with a full futon), dining area, kitchenette, full bathroom, patio, hammock, and outdoor furniture, and grill. There is a utility room for washing dishes/sink, washer and dryer, dry rack, fan, and an area to store adventure gear.

First time to Colorado

This was such a nice quiet place outside of town. It had everything you needed and great scenery. Loved it for our first time to Colorado.

Beautiful and relaxing!

Very comfy and cozy. A nice place to enjoy Durango and even be able to come unwind away from the city. It is a little bit of a trek on a dirt road to get there but worth it for the ambiance.

Exceeded expectations!

I booked this wonderful cabin for our first anniversary with my wife. It’s tucked away in the hills of Durango. We found it perfect to get away from the town but also close enough we could go in and enjoy what Durango has to offer. Our host was wonderful and very quick to respond to any questions we had before and during our stay. The cabin was clean and well played out. We absolutely would book it again!

Winter wonderland

Very nice with great views of the valley. Cozy. Pet friendly. We brought our dog. There were dog bowls and a dog bed. Would definitely stay there again.

Mountain Retreat with the sounds of nature!

The house was beautiful and had all the amenities one would need to relax and enjoy. Had a great living room, comfy bed, washer and dryer, kitchenette, amazing shower and plenty of coffee! With Durango only a drive down the mountain for any supplies you may need, we tried to spend as much time here as we could. Many woodland creatures, humming birds among a few others, that added to the serenity while sitting on the quaint outside patio. With access to a cozy propane fire pit and outdoor furniture for seating. Had an amazing grill to make a tasty dinner Too. If you’re lucky to see their sweet white furry boy Jackson, he loves some scritches. Will stay again if our travels take us there.

Perfect location, and good value.

Great location in the mountains that is a quiet, private, middle of nowhere space, but still conveniently close to town. Large, clean, apartment sized space with every amenity you could ask for plus more. A bit pricey but it is still a decent value proposition, and one of the best I've found in the entire state of Colorado so far. The only "complaint" which may or may not be an issue for you, is that it is directly attached to the hosts house, but that's just a personal thing. If you are afraid of dogs, something to keep in mind is there is a large one that lives on the property, but there were no issues and it was very friendly. Bottom line is I would absolutely stay at the location again without hesitation next time I'm in Durango.

Quiet, relaxing, and comfortable!

As others have mentioned, there is a couple of mile trip uphill on a dirt/gravel road, but it is fairly well traveled, and the view was well worth it! The place had a lot of nice touches (I especially liked the coziness of the lighting). I appreciated having a desk and good desk chair, and the bed and sofa were both comfortable. I had what I needed to work, relax and watch TV, or sit out on the patio and read--and getting to make friends with a dog is always a bonus. It does not have a full kitchen, but it does have a microwave, hot plate, and full-sized refrigerator, as well as a tea kettle, coffee pot, and toaster, so I was pretty well set. I felt as if I had my privacy but that I could reach out to the hosts with any issues I might have. I will definitely stay again!
