Idyllic Retreat in the Heart of Nature
We recently stayed at this charming log cabin in Gaylord, MI, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt enveloped in tranquility. Here’s why we loved it: Relaxing Ambiance: The cabin’s serene surroundings instantly put us at ease. Nestled amidst lush woodlands, it felt like a true escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Tranquil Setting: The quietude was remarkable. We woke up to birdsong and the rustling of leaves—a perfect respite from the noise of the city. Laid-Back Vibes: The cabin’s rustic charm and cozy interiors made us feel right at home. It’s the kind of place where you can kick back, read a book, and forget about time. Spotlessly Clean: The cleanliness was impeccable. Every corner of the cabin was well-maintained, and we appreciated the attention to detail. New and Inviting: The cabin had a fresh, new feel. It’s evident that the owners take pride in maintaining their property. And let’s talk about that hot tub! Oh, what a delight. The water was perfectly heated to 104 degrees, and we spent evenings soaking under the star-studded sky. It was pure bliss. We highly recommend this VRBO log cabin to anyone seeking a peaceful getaway. Whether you’re a couple or a family wanting quality time together, this place ticks all the boxes. Thank you for providing such a wonderful retreat—we’ll be back!

My husband, John and I truly love everything Up North offers from Lake living, trail riding, hiking, boating to Snowmobiling as this area defines the word Vacationland plus the clean air and stars in the sky are so vibrant!

The homes which we offer are our own personal paradises which we stay at as much as possible.

We love sharing our Vacation Homes to create memories with their families just as we have as well as give you an experience living in the area which you will never forget. All the homes are strictly set up for the Vacationer in mind and all in highly desirable areas with so many different type of activities imaginable for any age group. The homes which we offer have amenities which everyone needs (like me!!!) such as Wi-Fi, Cable TV, Air Conditioning, updated bathrooms and kitchens plus kayaks to use with each and every lake front home, some homes having also canoes and Paddle boats and all the homes have their own private Outdoor Hot Tub usable all year 'round which are all Pet Friendly (fee posted in house rules) as our four-legged family members love it Up North too as you won't have to kennel or have someone watch your pet.

Hope to have you stay!

What makes this property unique

With a unique location on the 45 parallel, the Alpine Village of Gaylord is truly Northern Michigan's heart. Whether planning to travel to Gaylord for the first visit or your 31st, we know that you will be back again and again. Gaylord is unique in its centrality - only minutes from everything you could hope for in the north and things you might not expect either, like top-notch shopping, galleries, arts, music festivals & wireless internet access you can use while relaxing on one of the park benches downtown or at Serenity.

Golf
With 21 golf courses which include world-class resorts and championship golf designed by some of America's top golf course designers, the Gaylord area is your dream golf destination.

Hiking
Experience all that is Northern Michigan along one of the many trails in Otsego County used for hiking, biking, x-country skiing and snowshoeing. The area abounds with pathways for outdoor enthusiasts of every skill and age level, and all are free to use with no trail passes required.

Ski & Snowshoe
In Gaylord you'll find the gently sloping terrain, heavily wooded forests and deep annual snowfall ideal for Nordic skiing. It is also not uncommon to see plentiful wildlife out on the trail.

Snowmobile
Located in the center of Northern Lower Michigan's Snow Belt, the Gaylord area averages over 180 inches of the white stuff annually. Surrounded by rolling hills, thousand of acres of unspoiled forests and numerous winter activities, Gaylord is quickly emerging as a preferred winter destination.

Elk Viewing
The Pigeon River State Forest’s expansive 105,000 acres with the Midwest’s only free ranging elk herd offers a unique wilderness experience that is just a short drive from downtown Gaylord. The Department of Natural Resources maintains this excellent elk habitat through careful forest and wildlife management or you can view elk herd behind Jay's Sporting goods!
