About this property

Big Glen Lake - Beechwood Cottage

Nestled on the south shore of Big Glen Lake, Beechwood Cottage enjoys 155 feet of lake access, and a private dock with moorings and kayaks, perfect for early morning views of wildlife. Close to local restaurants and sightseeing, you’ll want to be sure to visit Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and the Dune Climb, downtown Glen Arbor, and the M22 scenic highway.

With three bedrooms and 1.5 baths, Beechwood Cottage can sleep up to eight guests. As you enter the cottage, you’ll notice the natural wood finishings, cozy living room, and plenty of seating, both indoors and out on the patio. A fully equipped kitchen with stainless-steel appliances and dining area make home-cooked meals a pleasure in this lake front cottage, and for those warm summer nights, grilling burgers on the barbeque is just what the family ordered!

The first bedroom features a king bed and dresser, the second bedroom has twin bunk beds, and the third bedroom offers two twin beds. A queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room offers an additional bed. The home has one full bathroom with bathtub and an additional half bath adjacent to a full-size washer/dryer. With comfortable linens, plenty of towels, and a country feel, this property is ideal for those who wish to have fun at the lake and enjoy family time for a week away.

Very relaxing stay

While the weather was very early spring-like (cool & damp), we made our own sunshine. The fireplace was great!

Glorious

My sisters and I have been staying at Beechwood Cottage for the last eight years because we love the location, the house, and the beauty of the area. We kayak almost everyday, swim in the lake though you must be wary of Swimmer's Itch which my sister will tell you can be horrible. Only one of the five of us suffered from it. Lake Michigan with its gorgeous water and dunes is where we usually swim. Fabulous views from the dunes. Beechwood Cottage is wonderfully stocked for any cooking and baking needs which we most appreciate because we like to eat, drink, and play games rather than eating at restaurants. However, the cottage's proximity to good restaurants and wineries is a huge bonus. We are road bikers, and I can't say enough about the roads in Michigan. Excellent. The lengthening of the Heritage Trail has made biking even more appealing. So, all and all, a delightful stay in this perfect environment.
