Welcome to Art’s Escape!! We built this cottage as a refuge from our busy lives; a place where the surf, sand and Island hospitality reinvigorates our soul and reenergizes our minds! We hope it can provide you a flavorful taste of what rural Prince Edward Island has to offer.
Our cottage is named after Art Robichaud, Darcy’s grandfather. In his younger years, Art traded, bartered and bought all the land accessible from Robichaud Lane. He built a small family cottage down at the bottom of Sunset Drive (which is no longer standing) which was the Robichaud family retreat for his lovely wife Norma, their nine children and the generations to come. Over time, Art parceled the land into several individual lots which were eventually deeded over to each of the children. To this day, most of the homes and cottages within Robichaud Lane and Sunset Drive are still owned by Robichaud family members!
Just as Art’s family laughed, loved and relaxed here along the river, we hope that you can do the same at Art’s Escape.
