RVA offers Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort. Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort #257 will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles, fishing pier and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center.



Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.

Great little spot!

This was a good little condo. The access to the pool and beach was fantastic. The pool is nothing fancy, but good for my kids because it was never too busy. The fridge had rust on the side but was clean inside. We enjoyed this spot!

Beautiful beach

Comfortable room, friendly staff, great accommodations. The beach was great for swimming and not crowded (in mid-May). I would recommend and would stay again.

Location, location, location! Perfect sized complex (2 stories but no elevator), great pool, steps from the beach that is equipped with beach chairs. Parking was easy and never an issue. Units come with multiple beach towels so we didn’t have to pack them. Carts available to help load and unload. Our unit was OK. Size is fine for 2 people. Appreciated the updated appliances but the bathroom really needs to be updated as there is some mold on the tiles. We did see a large but dead cockroach a few days in by the bathroom. It would have been nice to have a luggage rack in a closet. The bed was pretty firm but not bad if you’re used to that. The couch was pretty comfy and long. We didn’t mind having a shared door to the unit next to us, which stayed locked, but it is not sound proof AT ALL. We heard every cough, conversation, phone noise, etc the entire time which kept us awake at times. Not ideal. The screened in porch overlooking the pool and partial ocean view was great as I worked remote from there for two days. Wifi worked well in room. The pool is big, goes to 8.5ft deep and is heated which was really nice. Overall the grounds were never really crowded. Definitely an older crowd. Lots of great restaurants in both directions. So many shells on the beach plus soft white powdery sand. Really enjoyed being close to Lido Key, Bradenton and Anna Maria. We will be back and try another unit with 2 bedrooms.

Weekend Getaway

The resort is not overly huge which makes for a less crowded and enjoyable time. Room was clean and we were just a stones throw from the beach. We would definitely go back!

A hidden gem

Super low key quiet place. Beach was beautiful and not crowded and goes for miles. The pool was warm and plenty of lounge chairs. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating We will be back!!

Lovely area

Place was very nice. Unfortunately, the red tide made it uncomfortable. Beach looked beautiful which is where we wanted to be but because of dead fish and terrible odor we were not able to sit in beach or walk on beach. Thank goodness for rec facility about half a mile away. We were able to enjoy that pool.

Not the best stay

Already had submitted my review but to summarize the AC unit stopped cooling the night before we were checking out and the sofa bed needs replacing. It's in very bad shape and impossible to sleep in.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Disappointed with the lack of housekeeping services. Guests should not have to take dirty towels to the office daily or strip bed at check out. Price increase for next year of 1,000 week is outrageous!

I loved it...but

I loved it, we changed rooms ( From 257 to 256) because we stayed a day longer because of the weather, but we checked out Monday which we didn't have to, we had 257 until Weds. at 11:00 we checked out because it was easier "we thought" we changed to 256 the bed in 257 was great I slept, but the bed in 256 was not comfortable at all. I couldn't sleep, its as if many people slept in it. It's not as firm as 257. They need to change it. Other than that we loved Longboat Key. We loved our stay. The girl in the office was very helpful. The place was Very Clean. Better than the pictures, 257 was awesome. Diane

Not Gonna Blow You Away But A Solid Choice

First time vacationing to Longboat Key area. Very very happy we did! Great food, great bars/restaurants! Check out Guppy’s when you stay here!We stayed here in February of 2025 and the Red Tide situation was happening unfortunately. If you don’t know what that is, Google it. It could wreck a trip. But at Silver Sands, everything was fine! Beautiful pool and pool area with plenty of seating, tables, and umbrellas if needed. The beach area was very nice as well, and very close to the pool area and housing units. Plenty of chairs out by the beach as well! All in all the property itself was very well maintained and clean. Our unit was as advertised. Clean, well stocked with everything we needed. Comfy bed. And nice lanai overlooking the pool area. Few things to note:- Coffee pot is a Keurig so bring pods. - This unit is on the Second floor and there’s no elevator. - This unit had adjoining doors to the next door unit. Normally not a big deal but we could hear everything on the other side of the doors in the next door unit. And I’m sure they could hear us too. And by the way, the doors are in the master bedroom. - Televisions in the living area and bedroom. We never tried the tv in the bedroom but the one in the living area could use replacing. Picture and audio were fine. But there was that annoying green thin line from top to bottom across the screen telling you it’s about to die. This was a nice place for us. We would come back. Unit 257 Review

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved everything about our unit. It was comfortable, clean, close walk to pool and beach. I will have to say it was probably the cleanest property I’ve ever rented!! Our stay was just too short.
