Kitchen/dining
The large kitchen is fully stocked and ready for you to prepare delicious meals with your friends and family. The kitchen opens to the dining room which hosts a large table for group dinners as well as seating for four at kitchen island bar
Porch off of kitchen
Enjoy the 600 square foot deck off of the main kitchen facing the woods. Big outdoor seating area, table, and huge gas grill to feed the crowd.
Main Living Room
Our favorite spot in the house! Huge open room, tons of windows, gorgeous views, wood burning fireplace, opens to dining room and kitchen.
Patio under the A-Frame
We are willing to bet this may be the best spot in the Shenandoah Valley for a morning cup of coffee and for stargazing at night. Also a great place to cozy up and watch a rainstorm.
Basement
Great hangout area for kids of all ages! In the basement you'll find a ping pong table, foosball, smart tv, variety of games, a handcrafted bar (built with white oak harvested from the build site) with two different counter seating areas, and a bar lounge area. There is also a futon for sleeping if you need the room
Basement level patio
Step out from the basement onto the covered patio and soak in the comfort and tranquility of the surrounding woods. Cozy outdoor patio set and sealed porch above. Ideal for watching wildlife
Outdoor living
The Lodge sits on the top of a hill surrounded by 19 acres separated from the main farm (additional 50 acres). Plenty of pastureland and woods to explore. Take a hike through the woods, play a family game of football or cornhole, or just hang around the firepit.
What you'll find:
Washer and dryer on main floor for you use
Fully stocked kitchen includes anything/everything you might need-blender, air fryer, crockpot, cocktail set, etc.
You'll find spices, flour, sugar, and other basics in the kitchen
Coffee machine can make pots of drip coffee as well as Keurig . Starter coffee provided.
Box fans in every room if you like white noise.
Great outdoor firepit overlooking mountains-Lighters and fire starters in dry box under bench
***smoking is never allowed inside the house***

-Washer and dryer on main floor for you use
-fans in each bedroom if you like the noise of a fan (like we do!) when sleeping
-smoking is never allowed inside the house
- if you are looking for super high speed internet you've come to the wrong lodge! :) However, we are thrilled that our internet has been reliable thus far and we can successfully stream movies from the TVs or our phones and stay connected if we wish to. We cannot guarantee internet speed due to the rural location.
-Our lodge sits partially in the woods so you may encounter bugs now and then...just part of the great outdoors.
-We have a water softener but due to the (delicious and nutritious) nature of our well water you will often see spots on our dishes and silverware. Have no fear! It is clean just part of "country living". You may also on occasion notice a discoloration of water.
-You may receive a visit from our two pups (Jane and Barley). They are sweet and totally friendly. They are used to roaming the farm and occasionally come for a visit looking for new friends.

About the host
Hosted by Caitlin & Adam Berkey
I grew up in Hanover County Virginia and came to James Madison University to start college in the fall of 2004. I fell in love with the Shenandoah Valley and lucky for me, met my husband while I was working at Rosetta Stone in downtown Harrisonburg after college. We moved to the farm in the summer of 2016. We absolutely love this area and are so grateful daily for the beautiful land and incredible views! We live here with our five (wild and crazy and precious) young kiddos. We can’t wait to share our slice of heaven with you!
Why they chose this property
We have dreamt and prayed about building this Lodge for years. We are grateful to see this dream become a reality. It really is hard to beat the beauty and tranquility you'll find out here surrounded by mountains and farmland.
What makes this property unique
Privacy and space to run around yet so close to many great attractions in Harrisonburg and surrounding areas.
