This was our second visit to The Bear and we once again had a great time in a beautiful well appointed house. The owners are fantastic and checked in to see if we needed anything. The new fooz ball table was a hit!!!!
Loved this house! Great set up. Lots of indoor and outdoor areas to gather. Plenty of room for multiple couples. Great communication with our host. Easy entry and exit. Would definitely stay here again!
The host was very welcoming and responsive. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Parking was tricky and we did need to use the overflow parking near the pool. Only issue I can think of is that the handles on the spatulas would fall off…….obviously, not a big issue, only mentioning in case the owners would like to replace them.
The home is very clean and there was plenty of room for three couples and kids. Massanutten offers lots of activities but it is somewhat inconvenient to have to pay separately for every activity. The nearby Shenandoah National Park offers wonderful hiking. Overall, it was a good place for a family vacation.
This property was amazing. Check in was super easy and the cabin was spacious. The host communicated often and was great to work with for our stay. We definitely will be back in the future.
What I appreciated most was the hosts clear communication and detailed instructions. I have been in many cabins and this was one of the best for so many reasons. Only one issue while cooking in kitchen once it was dark we couldn’t see because the light was on a movement censor and ceiling light was dem otherwise Everything else in this beautiful cabin was perfectThanks again Deidra Foster
Our family had a wonderful time and enjoyed all the games, clean and spacious house, nearness to skiing, and the views!!We plan to rebook this Bear retreat! Our granddaughters enjoyed trying to find all the bears!
We stayed at the home for our annual multi-family vacation. The house exceeded our high standards. The kids enjoyed the games downstairs when we had downtime. Plenty of room for everyone. Clean and quiet. Highly recommend.
This is a wonderful cabin! We took our family to stay the weekend as part of their Christmas present. The owner was very accommodating. The kids went tubing and it wasn’t too far from the cabin. Everyone enjoyed the weekend! We will return.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful lodge! It was above and beyond our expectations… Immaculate very well appointed… And the owner was extremely accommodating and very friendly and responded with any type of need… I will look forward to going back there again… Definitely a five-star home !!
The home was a perfect location for the 6 couples that stayed for my nephew and newest niece-in-law's wedding this weekend.. Well appointed, clean, and a great location. We enjoyed the home even though the weather prevented us from enjoying the wonderful deck. The basement gathering room was a perfect place for us to host a pre-wedding celebration for the couple and other family members staying in the area. The main living room was expansive and comfortable to sit and enjoy great conversation, and the kitchen was large with all the utensils needed. Thanks for an enjoyable place for us to call home for a 3 day fun filled weekend!
Beautiful home just a quick drive to the rec centers/ski resort. Had a great time skiing and tubing, despite how little snow there was. Kitchen had all you need to prepare meals. Beautiful view outside from the deck. Great communication with owner. Would highly recommend.
Had a great time at this cabin! The three levels accommodated us perfectly. My parents stayed on main level, my sister and family upstairs and my family in basement! Some of us went skiing and it was nice to be close to the resort. It did snow and the manager replied quickly to us about a snow shovel! We played games at the cabin. Was able to order pizza delivery! Overall we had a great time! Would recommend this location!

About the host
Hosted by TUUL
Based in Northern Virginia, we are lifelong fans of the Blue Ridge and the Shenandoah Valley. Whether we’re hitting the trails on foot or exploring the mountains on two wheels, we find our best memories are made in the wild. We’ve curated this cabin to be more than just a place to stay—it’s a sanctuary for our own friends and family, and we’re thrilled to share that same sense of adventure and serenity with you. Welcome to our favorite mountain escape!
Why they chose this property
Our cabin is located in picturesque Village Woods section of Massanutten resort, the Kettle area of the resort—the most sought-after location for those who want to be closest to the action while still enjoying the peace of the forest. It is only 2 minute drive to the slopes, mini go-karts and other activities. Yet it feels so far away from the hustle and bustle, being in the middle of majestic tall trees and crisp fresh air.
What makes this property unique
In Massanutten, location is everything. We are positioned just 2 minutes from the slopes and the Family Adventure Park. This means no long mountain drives, no parking lot shuttles, and no "forgetting your goggles" disasters. You are at the heart of the action, allowing your group to come and go as they please.
2. Designed for Group Harmony Hosting 14 people can be chaotic—unless the house is built for it. We’ve designed this lodge with "living zones":
The Social Level: A soaring Great Room and massive dining area where all 14 guests can actually gather, eat, and relax together.
The Entertainment Wing: A lower-level "Arcade Headquarters" featuring full-size Air Hockey and Arcade Classics, located right next to the bunk rooms. The kids have their world; the adults have theirs.
3. The "Work-from-Mountain" Suite We know that sometimes the person who plans the trip still has to "log on." Unlike most cabins, we provide a dedicated workspace in our "Green Room" featuring a desk and dual monitors. This allows you to handle that Friday morning meeting with high-speed Wi-Fi before hitting the trails by noon.
4. 3.5 Bathrooms = Faster Mornings One of the biggest pain points for large groups is the "bathroom bottleneck." With 3.5 baths (including a master jetted tub and a rain shower), your group will spend less time waiting in line and more time making memories.
