loved the space and perfect for us and for games! only downside, there is no wifi which isn’t clearly explicit which was unfortunate as someone had to do a little work and was unable to do so at the house.
This is a no frills house in a beautiful area. We stayed in the summer and there was a strong musky/mildew odor in the house and some ants inside, but the house was fairly clean for what it is - it's an older house that could really use some new carpet, etc, but is well stocked. Also, there is no WiFi and cellular service can be limited for certain carriers, which is nice for unplugging in nature for the visit, but just be sure to plan for that ahead of time
Great quiet location and very accommodating owners. I had concerns from a previous review about smell, and there was no issue at all. The house was very well stocked. House is a 10 minute drive to Seven Springs and 5 minutes to the snowmobile trails.Only thing to note, if coming in the winter, make sure you have four wheel drive.
I’m not a reviewer and I don’t want to write this because Neil was so nice, but…
The house had a STRONG odor of must and mildew. I mean strong. We almost turned around and left but decided to go to the local Family Dollar and buy candles and plug-in air fresheners and it helped. Although it wasn’t necessarily dirty, it was old and very outdated. I mean how clean can 40yr old carpet be? The main bathroom was very small and had no vent fan so it just holds moisture. I’m 6’3” and could barely sit down. I found the 1/2 bath upstairs to have more legroom.
On the plus side…the cabin is fully stocked with almost anything you would need to clean, cook etc. Batteries, ligh bulbs, paper towels, soaps, matches , lighters, spices, plastic wrap, baggies, cutlery including plastic… you name it and it was there which was greatly appreciated. Firewood waiting by the fire pit was great and we enjoyed that on our last night.
Location was great. 5 min from Laurel Hills State park and 7 Springs but secluded with a big yard and woods behind.
The owner was also fine with us checking in a few hours early and the lockbox/check in process was a breeze.
Wonderful cabin, cozy, comfortable and very close to the ski resort. Amazing hosts
Beautiful and cozy mountain cabin. Amazing views! And 15 minutes drive to seven springs resort. The hosts are incredible, al ways available to resolve any issue. We stayed for 8 amazing days during winter break. The cabin was very clean, beds were very comfortable and sheets and towels of very good quality. The kitchen is very well equipped and they have games and puzzles to share with the family. There is no WiFi and phone coverage is poor which for us was great since it allowed for quality time with our teenage boys. Neil and his wife are super hosts, very helpful in everything that we needed. Thank you so much to both of you for sharing your beautiful cabin. Perfect home to enjoy nature and the mountains.
Loved the setting by the woods (could hang my hammock) and away from the road, the cottage atmosphere, the sunroom, and the deer!
There was a little bit of a musty smell. Comfy bed.
We wanted to stay somewhere near Seven Springs Resort for the weekend, and this place was about 15 mins away.
Place was immaculate. Each room had fresh towels. Beds were comfortable. I would stay here again if I was back in the area.
Hi, My name is Neill P Andritz and I have been a VRBO host for seventeen years! I love sharing our properties with fellow members and giving them the opportunity to enjoy what we have to offer.
Why they chose this property
We chose this location due to it's private setting and proximity to all the Laurel Highlands has to offer. It is also very close to Seven Springs and Hidden Valley ski resorts. The Great Allegheny Passage is also only a few miles away.
What makes this property unique
The secluded nature of our property allows you to reset from the busy outside world.
