Perfect House for a Relaxing Family Vacation!

This was our first time in Michigan, and when we went looking for a house online, we all had a list of everything we wanted/needed. This house had everything we needed and more! We stayed there with two other families, 6 adults and 7 kids total and we never felt cramped or over crowded. The house was fully stocked with everything you'd need (honestly we didn't even need to buy or bring several of the items we brought). There were plenty of bedrooms and beds for everyone and enough towels to last us all the full 5 days. The sand beach area was perfect for our kids (ages 3 to 8) and the water was shallow enough to where they could all walk out pretty far without going more than waist deep and because it's a smaller lake, the water was warm and felt great. All the beach toys and chairs were supplied by the hosts and the kids were also able to catch a bunch of fish off the dock or even out on the boat. We had a fire 3 of the 5 nights which was wonderful as the firepit is setup right next to the lake. The house is so secluded that you feel like you're the only people out there most days and because of all the trees the yard is provided with a ton of shade. Our absolute favorite part was the screened in porch on the side of the house! We spent almost every morning out there with our coffee and every night out there, especially after the kids went to bed. It was the perfect spot to hang out while inside. 10/10 would definitely recommend this house!

About the host

We both grew up in Southwest Michigan and loved spending our summers on the lake. We know that time with family is precious, and we love being able to offer our homes for people to enjoy and make memories. We have several guests who come back each year to make our homes a part of their new family tradition. We own a home on each of our childhood lakes and offer both as vacation rental homes.

Why they chose this property

This property on Sweet Lake is a natural paradise. Surrounded by woods and located on a pristine lake, you will see tons of wildlife! We have resident deer and turkey you will usually see along the driveway. We have several different species of birds, including heron, loons, and if you're lucky, you may see a pileated woodpecker or an eagle on occassion!

What makes this property unique

The floor plan is perfect for multi-generational or multi-family gatherings. The third floor is a wonderful space for the kids. Each room has a view of woods and/or the lake. Not having any neighbors close by, you can enjoy privacy and nature. This home is special to us, as we were married here and lived here for several years.
