Everything was exactly how the pictures show. San antionio is known for small houses. Host was very welcoming and was very good with communication. Definitely had good places to go to around the house itself within walking distances.
This was a great location if you want to be close to all things San Antonio from the Botanical Gardens, to the Frost Center, and of course the Alamo and the Riverwalk. All within a few miles. The host is the best, she responded quickly to all my messages about arrival, checked in on us during our stay and answered questions we had about places to go/see. Would stay again.
Property very run down. Needed a good cleaning. Location very walkable but neighborhood on the edge of sketchy. Washer and dryer not located in unit. Disappointing.
Very clean and comfortable. Host was available for any questions orConcerns with quick responses and helpful information about the area. Super convenient location for a conference I attended at Alamodome and visiting family in Alamo Ranch area. I walked to Brackenridge Park, San Antonio Zoo, Witte museum in will definitely want to stay here again. Central market is a mile away which is a great place to get prepped meals to cook which saves on restaurant expense.
Had a plesent stay for the price, the property needs to be more upkept and the rooms could be professionally cleaned, as there was open bags of left over food from a previous party. Furniture is cute but older. Host was very friendly and welcoming and there is a gas station a block away. Very close by to Zoo's, parks, and museum.
The price, location of the home, and communication with our host were all great. My daughters and friend really enjoyed our San Antonio experience and the home.
Perfect. Centrally located to so many activities and very close to Fort Sam and the airport. Communication with host was top notch and super fast. I am extremely pleased with this stay and if we are ever back in San Antonio I will be looking to stay with this host again.
The age of the property was a little concerning when we arrived but turned out to be just fine. The location was perfect for getting to the base and everything we wanted to do. Enjoying family time was a little rough because the tables and chairs are very dated and were not very sturdy. the only couch doubles as a bed so sitting in the living area to watch TV was uncomfortable because it is the width of a bed not a couch. Overall the place served its purpose and for the price it was good.
Let stay off with my family and i were only on the property 30 mins total. Pulling up tonthe property it looks abandoned! You have to go to back to access the lock box. The back of the property looks very sketchy! Over grown grass, porch wasnt very well maintained! We walked in and was hit immediately with a damp basement smell. Paint pealing off the walls! Very dark! It was no way we were staying here. Mold in the fridge! The TV was 13 inches. I was fooled by the few photos. But now i understand why there wasnt any photos of the exterior or tv. DONT RENT THIS PLACE! If i could give it a ZERO I WOULD!

Based on the timing and tone of his remarks, it seems he wrote the lies in retaliation for his refund request being denied rather than on what happened. First, his request was rightfully declined. He failed to follow the cancellation policy he agreed to.
Second, to address the specific inaccuracies that he wrote:
The guest falsely claimed the television was only 13” in size. This is not true. The TV is 40”.
The guest said “mold in the fridge!” and submitted photos showing a small mark on the exterior of the fridge. There is no mold in the fridge. This is misleading. The refrigerator was clean, functional. We regularly clean and maintain it.
He also claimed there was a "damp basement smell" in the unit. We take such concerns seriously, but again, this is not true. It doesn't smell. None of our previous guests have reported any such issue, and our consistently positive reviews speak to the cleanliness and comfort of the space.
As for his comments, “paint peeling off the walls” and “very dark”. There is no paint peeling off the wall. He couldn’t even find anything to take a photo of. The unit is well lit - inside and out.
He made the remark “the back of the property looks very sketchy”. This property sits in a prestigious, high-income area of San Antonio. There is an 8-foot high all-around fence in the backyard for added privacy.
The “over-grown grass” and “porch not very well maintained” comments are not accurate and he provided no photos to support these claims.
While he was disappointed with our accommodations, we are upfront in our listing. Regarding his comment about the general quality of the accommodation, it is clearly stated in the listing that this is an older home. We take pride in its 100-year old historic charm. Most guests appreciate the nostalgic character of our property, and we set the proper expectations in our listing description.
We aim to provide a great experience for all guests, however, we also understand that preferences vary, and unfortunately, we cannot meet every individual taste. We have never received a poor review or a refund request. In addition, we enjoy many returning guests who enjoy and appreciate our property.
Lastly, I want to clarify that Mr. Woodward was not left without accommodation. He remained in our unit while already having booked an alternative reservation prior to contacting me. At the time of our communication, he was already on his way to that new location.
We are committed to honest and transparent communication and take all guest feedback seriously. However, reviews containing false and retaliatory claims do not reflect the true nature of our property or the service we provide.
A review like this is intended to merely harm the host, rather than to give an honest critique for potential guests to consider.
The property was ok , it is an older house that is being renovated (still needs more work)The problem was the cleaning, if the owner is paying someone she needs to fire them. Bathroom was filthy, toilet had a lot of brown spots and bathtub slippery and hair from previous guests. A used wet towel in the floor. The kitchen was ok until I opened the dishwasher, the place smelled like dead fish, thanks god there was dishwasher detergent and I set it to clean. Never opened again. There was not a single trash bag so I had to buy some at Walmart to be able to use the trash can.

Disliked: Location
Room was clean , bathroom was clean , kitchen was somewhat stocked , knife was dull , pan for breakfast was not that great floors were unlevel and can tell that they were just mopped over especially kitchen as the grout has built up dirt . Asked that we not wear shoes in house , my guess is didn’t wanna level the house ! For 250 bux for one night it could have been in a lot better shape ! Lil stumble if not careful going from kitchen to rest of house . Small tv in living room on wall prolly not even 32in . No actual hot water in shower , just warm kitchen water is less hot . Good location to river walk and Alamo area! Though the park across the street and store right beside it has a lot of homeless people hanging around some lil more hyper than others! For 250 a night keep looking !
The kitchen was good but it needs more silverware there was not enough for four people. The house is an older home but is kept in good shape. It was clean and comfortable. The yard was not as nice as I thought it would be but it was the time between winter and spring and everything is not there yet. It was a great experience and it was close to most of the things we wanted to see and do. Lots of places to eat close by and a park across the street. All in all it was very nice. Thank you Miya
