Spotless house with lots of room to spread out. Easy to get to Okemo to ski from this location. Very comfortable beds, hot showers, and a big kitchen for making meals and serving a group. Highly recommend John’s house for a comfortable, homey stay.
Great ski house, and accommodated us well. Only 10 minute drive to Okemo. House was clean and comfortable. Lacked some basic kitchen items such as serving spoons, serving dishes and aluminum foil, but, otherwise great.
Great location, easy check in, nice space...only downside of this property is that there is a gas fireplace but there is a sign that says it is not working. Would be a good investment to get that up and running as the warmth of a fireplace on a ski weekend is huge

I believe it’s stated in the rental agreement that the fireplace is nonfunctional. I had issues in the past where renters abused it when the fireplace is on it makes the third floor bedroom unbearably hot and tenants would be forced to open windows and when propane is near four dollars a gallon I found it wasteful
The house was conveniently located near the intersection of VT 103 and Rt 131 with easy access to Okemo. The kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of room to spread out; downstairs area was particularly helpful if you have kids. We would definitely rent this house again.
Nice property located a bit off the beaten path in Cavendish VT. Good location for us as we were MTB racing in Ascutney the next morning. Great value for the price. Clean, comfortable beds and fire pit. You are required to bring your own towels but linens were provided. I would stay here again.
Great house for a big group, lots of rooms on three floors, quiet neighborhood. Very clean and spacious. Kitchen has great appliances and well equipped, except only a Keurig coffee maker, we missed having a coffee filter. We had lots of fun and were very comfortable.
House was clean and adequate for number of people staying. Wish owner would have mentioned part of road was dirt after telling him we were arriving on motorcycles. We are very happy with the house.
We had three generations (10 people) for a family wedding. The house was clean and as advertised. The owner, John, was immediately available for any questions or concerns.
We were a group of Bikers, chase vehicle driven by the ladies, who rode on bikes when they wanted. The location was a great jumping off point to travel the great roads to ride in Vermont. The house was wonderful and felt like we had lived there for a long time. Highly recommend for bikers or anyone who needs a retreat in Vermont.
The house is beautiful and spacious, there was plenty of room for the five of us. The kitchen is well equipped, which means a lot for us because we do a lot of cooking. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this property to family and friends.
Communication with John was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. Two thumbs up 👍 👍

Thanks for the kind words Al it was a pleasure to have you.
The house is beautiful. Great location for skiing Okemo. Those of us who were not skiing found some cute little shops in town and some nice hiking trails. One in particular is right around the corner.
We stayed with friends and family. Plenty of room. Good sized rooms. Great table set up for board games. Nice lower level including the pool table. We sat out on the back porch and soaked up some sun during our Feb stay.
Owner was easy to get a hold of and responded quickly whenever I had a question.
Book it!

Beautiful modern spacious with many amenities
We were really impressed with the house, which was relatively new construction. It has an open floor plan with a spacious kitchen and large bedrooms, grill, TV with Netflix and a great covered balcony. The general feel was bright, open and clean--basically the ideals travelers look for. We found tons of stuff to do in the area with our young children, all within 30 min to 1 hr radius of the house, including Buttermilk Falls in Ludlow, the awesome Montshire Science Museum in Hanover, NH; we took the gondola up Killington, hiked a 2 mile loop near the summit of Mt Ascutney and went blueberry picking afterwards at the idyllic green dragon farms on rt 131; we went swimming in the lake at Camp Plymouth State Park (Lake Echo), and went to both the Billings Farm Museum and the VINS Nature Center in Woodstock. We highly recommend both the house and the area.

Unsanitary, very disappointing!
Home is in a good location, close to amenities. It has charm, however, it is not well looked after which is a shame. The owner is responsive to text messages and calls. He is aware of the issues we experienced through text and photos and apologized for the problems. The fact that he is in NJ and is trying to coordinate cleaners and maintenance from a distance adds to the difficulties. The house has not had a decent thorough cleaning in some time.
Upon arrival, we found the refrigerator had grime and blood stains on shelves, we needed to clean the fridge and freezer prior to using.
The bathrooms had hair and soap scum in bath and showers. Muddy footprints in one shower area. One bath could not be used due to a faulty stopper, another bath had no plug. Bathmats were unclean, evident by dirt, hair, and perished backing underneath them. We needed to clean the bathrooms. Dirt, dust and months of grime around toilet floor areas.
Bedrooms not well appointed, with 3 of 4 having no dressers. Two bedrooms were missing window curtains. These are needed for privacy and eliminating the sunlight, especially with children going to bed prior to sunset and sleeping past sunrise.
Old flannel sheets on beds, which are not recommended in July!
Dirty socks under master bed, along with months of dust and dirt.
Cobwebs on walls, ceilings, and window wells, a number of dead flies in cobwebs and window wells. Spiders in most rooms.
Everyone had to wash their feet after 2 hours due to the dirty state of all the floors. We cleaned and vacuumed them.
We live in a rural area, similar to this home, however, this home has an ant issue (large black and small sugar ants are everywhere). Crawling into handbags, on luggage, table tops, kitchen!!! We made sure there was never any food left out and that surfaces were washed and sanitized.
There were too many small flies to count in the bathroom downstairs. They were all over the sink, shower area, granddaughters toothbrushes.
The BBQ grill was not cleaned, old food, grease and dirt on the cooking grates. Very little propane in the tank.
The list goes on!
Our vacation was to provide some much needed family time for our 2 daughters, 4 granddaughters, my wife and I. We had hoped to stay for the entire time, however, we checked out early due to the unsanitary conditions. Our daughters were upset, and our granddaughters were extremely disappointed that our special family time together was spoiled and ended early.

I've owned and managed this property for 12 years with nothing but positive reviews with few complaints. I go over and above to try and make everyones experience pleasurable. The guest in
question wanted to cancel their reservation three days before arrival because of unfavorable weather when I declined due to cancelation policy they became unruly and left this unfair review.
John is an amazing host, house is perfect. After my first year at his property, I refused to stay anywhere else. This house gives you everything you need to enjoy a weekend at Okemo mountain. We will definitely be returning. Thank you again John.
